Abstract

This creative project aims to visualize coral reefs through ceramic craft, resulting in artworks that possess functional value. Coral reefs were selected as the source of inspiration due to their captivating forms, beautiful colors—derived from algae growing alongside the coral—porous and rough surface textures, and diverse patterns. By adopting the coral reef theme in ceramic art, it is hoped that the public will come to better appreciate and preserve natural beauty, while also understanding that every element within nature holds value capable of being interpreted into various artistic forms. Art is not merely about aesthetics; it also concerns how humans interact with their environment and how artworks can serve as reminders of the importance of protecting marine ecosystems. In the creation process, the author employs the method proposed by SP. Gustami. According to Gustami (2007: 329), the art creation method comprises three stages involving six steps of craft creation. The first stage is exploration, encompassing observation and literature research. The second is the design stage, involving the creation of sketches and technical drawings. The third stage is realization—the actual forming process—followed by the assessment and evaluation of the finished work.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve teamwork skills and learning outcomes of third-grade elementary school students through the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model assisted by interactive card games. The study was motivated by students' low level of teamwork during the learning process. Most students tended to learn individually, were less active in group discussions, and had difficulty sharing responsibilities effectively when working in groups. These conditions resulted in low learning participation and unsatisfactory learning outcomes. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 28 third-grade students in the 2026/2027 academic year. Data were collected through observations of teamwork activities, learning achievement tests, documentation, and field notes. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative approaches by comparing the results of each cycle. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model assisted by interactive card games effectively improved students' teamwork skills and learning outcomes. Teamwork activities increased from the fair category in Cycle I to the very good category in Cycle II. In addition, the percentage of students achieving mastery learning exceeded the predetermined success criteria. The interactive card games created an enjoyable learning environment, increased students' participation in group discussions, strengthened peer communication, and fostered responsibility within the team. Therefore, the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model assisted by interactive card games can be considered an effective alternative learning strategy to improve teamwork skills and learning outcomes among third-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

The influence of self-control on verbal aggressive behavior among seventh and eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 30 Muaro Jambi. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 30 Muaro Jambi. The data were collected through the distribution of self-control and verbal aggressive behavior questionnaires to seventh and eighth grade students as research respondents. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple regression analysis to determine the magnitude of the influence of self-control on students’ verbal aggressive behavior. The results showed that the level of self-control among seventh and eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 30 Muaro Jambi reached 35% and was categorized as low. This indicates that most students still experience difficulties in controlling their behavior, regulating their thoughts, and considering the decisions they make in various situations. Meanwhile, the level of students’ verbal aggressive behavior reached 73% and was categorized as high. These behaviors include direct active verbal aggression, direct passive verbal aggression, indirect active verbal aggression, and indirect passive verbal aggression. The statistical analysis revealed that self-control had a significant effect on students’ verbal aggressive behavior. The magnitude of this effect was indicated by an R Square value of 0.735 or 73.5%, while the remaining 26.5% was influenced by other factors not examined in this study. The regression equation obtained was Ŷ = 11.405 + (-0.379)X, indicating a negative relationship between self-control and verbal aggressive behavior. This means that every increase in self-control is followed by a decrease in verbal aggressive behavior. Conversely, the lower the students’ self-control, the higher their tendency to engage in verbal aggressive behavior.Based on the findings, it is recommended that schools, particularly guidance and counseling teachers, provide services aimed at improving students’ self-control in order to minimize verbal aggressive behavior. In addition, students are expected to develop better self-control skills in their daily lives to create a more conducive and harmonious school environment.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an ethnomathematics-based computational thinking assessment instrument using the traditional dance of the Klis community in Southwest Maluku for junior high school students. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach consisting of needs analysis, instrument design, expert validation, limited trials, and product revision. The instrument was tested on 30 junior high school students, and the data were analyzed using Anates V4 to evaluate validity, reliability, discrimination index, and difficulty level. The results indicated that all items were valid, with very high reliability (coefficient = 0.97), good discrimination indices (46.88%–60.23%), and moderate difficulty levels, demonstrating that the instrument is appropriate for mathematics assessment. The integration of ethnomathematics through the Klis traditional dance enabled the development of tasks that assess key computational thinking skills, including decomposition, abstraction, pattern recognition, and algorithm design. These findings suggest that incorporating local cultural contexts into assessment enhances both the quality of mathematics evaluation and students' appreciation of their cultural heritage. Therefore, the developed instrument is valid, reliable, and suitable for junior high school mathematics learning, providing an innovative assessment alternative that simultaneously promotes computational thinking and supports the preservation of local culture.

Abstract

Creativity and collaboration are fundamental 21st-century skills; however, their attainment in elementary schools remains low due to the dominance of lecture-based teaching methods. This study aimed to improve the creativity and collaboration of fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Kauman through the application of Project Based Learning (PjBL) assisted by Canva on the topic of environmental conservation. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) spiral model, implemented in three cycles,The research subjects comprised 28 fourth-grade students (18 boys, 10 girls) aged 9–10 years in the 2025/2026 academic year, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection instruments included a creativity observation rubric with three indicators (new ideas, flexible thinking, and tangible work) and a collaboration observation rubric with three indicators (care, sharing, and teamwork), complemented by semi-structured interviews, field notes, and documentation. Data were analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively with source and method triangulation to ensure data trustworthiness. The results demonstrated consistent improvement across cycles: creativity rose from 39.7% (cycle I, Low) to 61.1% (cycle II, Fair) and 81.7% (cycle III, Very Good), while collaboration rose from 44.4% to 68.7% and 90.1% (cycle III, Very Good), both surpassing the success criterion of ≥80% by cycle III. The most substantial gains occurred in flexible thinking (41.7%→94.0%) and teamwork (51.2%→98.8%), whereas the tangible-work and care indicators improved more slowly. These findings confirm that PjBL assisted by Canva, implemented through a graduated sequence of activities, consistently and effectively enhances creativity and collaboration among elementary school students.

Abstract

Traditional dance is a form of Indonesian cultural heritage embodying historical, philosophical, and cultural values that must be preserved amidst the changing times. The era of globalization characterized by advancements in information and communication technology has brought about significant shifts in the mindsets and lifestyles of the public, particularly the younger generation, thereby influencing interest in traditional arts. This article aims to analyze the preservation of traditional dance as Indonesian cultural heritage in the globalization era and to identify strategies for ensuring its continuity. The study employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were gathered from various scholarly journals discussing globalization, traditional dance, the role of the younger generation, and the use of digital media in cultural preservation. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques, involving the review, categorization, and interpretation of findings from previous studies. The results indicate that globalization has significantly contributed to a decline in the younger generation's interest in traditional dance due to the dominance of global popular culture. However, globalization also presents new opportunities through the use of digital media as a platform for promotion, education, and artistic innovation. Furthermore, the involvement of the younger generation through education, training, and cultural activities has proven crucial in strengthening the preservation of traditional dance. Thus, sustainable cultural preservation can be achieved through synergy among digital technology, educational institutions, the community, and the younger generation.
