Abstract

Advertisement writing is one of the productive language skills that junior high school students are expected to master. However, many students still encounter difficulties in developing ideas, using persuasive language, and creating visually appealing advertisement designs. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by Canva on the advertisement writing skills of eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Pantai Cermin. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 30 students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a performance test in advertisement writing, which was assessed based on four indicators: text structure, visual and design, linguistic features, and the use of Indonesian spelling conventions. Data were analyzed using the t-test to examine the differences in students' writing skills before and after the treatment. The findings revealed that the students' advertisement writing skills improved after the implementation of the Project Based Learning model assisted by Canva. The mean score increased from 70.41, categorized as More than Adequate, before the treatment to 90.83, categorized as Very Good, after the treatment. The hypothesis testing also indicated that the implementation of the Project Based Learning model assisted by Canva had a significant effect on students' advertisement writing skills. Therefore, the Project Based Learning model assisted by Canva can be considered an innovative instructional alternative to enhance students' creativity and advertisement writing skills in Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

Confessional podcasts increasingly position personal disclosure as a lens through which digital audiences interpret social issues, including the fatherless phenomenon. This study examines how audiences negotiate meaning in a viral Indonesian podcast episode linking father absence to a woman's standards in choosing a romantic partner, using Stuart Hall's Encoding-Decoding framework. Through qualitative reception analysis, in-depth interviews were conducted with five women informants in Surabaya with varied family backgrounds and marital histories. Contrary to psychological accounts that treat the fatherless condition as a relatively consistent predictor of compensatory partner-seeking, decoding positions were plural: one dominant reading with negotiated elements, three positions along the negotiated spectrum, and one fully oppositional reading. Notably, the informant most directly affected by physical father loss did not produce the most uncritical reading, while the informant whose father was present but whose own marriage had failed produced the most oppositional one. Reception position is thus shaped less by the fatherless condition itself than by the cumulative complexity of lived relational experience and critical media literacy, offering a communication-based account of how audiences actively negotiate, rather than passively absorb, media narratives about family and relationships.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the suboptimal performance of teachers in Islamic boarding schools in Gunung Sindur District, Bogor Regency, as indicated by a preliminary survey with indicator achievements below 50% (30.0%–41.1%). This problem is suspected to be triggered by limited digital literacy, monotonous teaching approaches, and a minimal culture of collaboration due to the dense workload of 24-hour student care. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital literacy (X_1), teacher creativity (X_2), and learning collaboration (X_3) partially and simultaneously on teacher performance (Y). The method used is quantitative associative causal. From a population of 160 high school/Islamic high school teachers in 7 Islamic boarding schools, a representative sample of 114 respondents was taken using the Slovin formula and proportional random sampling technique. Primary data were collected through a valid and reliable 5-point Likert scale questionnaire, then analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that partially, digital literacy, teacher creativity, and learning collaboration each had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. Simultaneously (F-test), the three independent variables were shown to have a significant effect on teacher performance. The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.651 indicates that the combined contribution of these three variables in explaining variation in teacher performance is 65.1%, while the remaining 34.9% is influenced by factors outside the model. The study's conclusions confirm that improving the performance of Islamic boarding school teachers requires comprehensive integration of technological capacity, teaching creativity, and a collaborative work ecosystem. Practical recommendations are aimed at Islamic boarding school administrators to facilitate regular ICT training, provide space for innovative teaching methods, and strengthen learning communities to reduce teacher isolation.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 01 Kampung Batu Dalam, Solok Regency. The students experienced difficulties in understanding texts, identifying implicit information, and drawing conclusions. This study aimed to improve students' reading comprehension skills through the implementation of the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using qualitative and quantitative approaches conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The participants were 31 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through tests and non-test techniques, including classroom observations and learning achievement assessments. The findings indicated that the implementation of the DRTA strategy improved both the quality of the learning process and students' reading comprehension skills. The average reading comprehension score increased from 61.13 in Cycle I to 84.80 in Cycle II, while the average learning achievement score improved from 66.09 to 86.91. Therefore, the Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) strategy was proven to be effective in improving elementary school students' reading comprehension skills.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology and social media usage has increased the tendency of Impulse Buying among Generation Z. This study aims to analyze the effects of religiosity, Influencer Marketing, and lifestyle on Impulse Buying among Generation Z in Surabaya. A quantitative approach with a causal associative design was employed. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 150 Generation Z respondents selected using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that religiosity has no significant effect on Impulse Buying. In contrast, Influencer Marketing and lifestyle have positive and significant effects on Impulse Buying. These findings indicate that Generation Z's Impulse Buying behavior is influenced more by external factors, particularly digital marketing exposure and lifestyle, than by internal religious values. This study contributes to consumer behavior literature from an Islamic economics perspective and provides practical implications for businesses in designing more effective and responsible digital marketing strategies.

Abstract

The value of mutual cooperation is one of the values of Pancasila that reflects an attitude of cooperation, mutual assistance, caring, and shared responsibility. It is important to instill this value starting in elementary school because it plays a role in shaping students’ social character. The internalization of the value of mutual cooperation can be achieved through various learning activities that involve interaction and cooperation among students. This study aims to describe the internalization of the value of mutual cooperation among fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Jepun in Tulungagung Regency. This study employs a qualitative approach using a phenomenological methodology. Research data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the value of mutual cooperation has been internalized in the learning process of fourth-grade students. This value is evident in their willingness to help peers experiencing learning difficulties, their concern for classmates, their mutual respect during discussions, and their ability to collaborate in completing group assignments. The students also demonstrated responsibility toward the assigned tasks and actively participated in group activities. Although there are still some students who are not yet consistent in applying the value of mutual cooperation, in general, this value has become an integral part of the students’ behavior during learning activities. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the value of mutual cooperation has been well internalized by the fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Jepun in Tulungangung Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the teacher's role in classroom management for second-grade students at SDN Bahagia 06 Bekasi. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed. Research informants—comprising the school principal, the second-grade teacher, second-grade students, and educational staff—were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the teacher managed the classroom across seven key aspects: teaching readiness, control of student attention, instructional pace and flexibility, implementation of rules and discipline, provision of motivation and reinforcement, handling of classroom disruptions, and enhancement of student engagement. Although challenges such as diverse student characteristics and the limited attention span of some students were encountered, the strategies implemented by the teacher successfully created a conducive learning atmosphere, increased student participation, and supported the achievement of learning objectives. Thus, effective classroom management emerges as a crucial factor in fostering a high-quality learning process in primary schools.
