Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengthening of adolescents' creative character based on local wisdom at Sanggar Bunga Padi in Pematang Biara Village, Pantai Labu District. The research was motivated by various character-related issues among adolescents, including drug abuse, theft, declining discipline, and decreasing awareness of local culture. Sanggar Bunga Padi serves as a non-formal educational institution that utilizes arts and cultural activities as a medium for fostering adolescents' creative character through the internalization of local wisdom values. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The research participants consisted of one studio manager, one instructor, and two adolescent members selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The trustworthiness of the data was ensured through triangulation, prolonged engagement, and persistent observation. The findings revealed that the strengthening of adolescents' creative character at Sanggar Bunga Padi was implemented through Thomas Lickona's three components of character education: moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. In the moral knowing component, adolescents developed an understanding of discipline, responsibility, cooperation, creativity, and local cultural values. In the moral feeling component, they demonstrated increased self-confidence, empathy, appreciation of local culture, and motivation to create. In the moral action component, these values were reflected in disciplined behavior, responsibility, teamwork, the courage to express creative ideas, and active participation in artistic and cultural activities. Therefore, Sanggar Bunga Padi plays an effective role as a non-formal educational institution in strengthening adolescents' creative character through the internalization of local wisdom. Keywords: non-formal education, creative character, adolescents, local wisdom, Sanggar Bunga Padi.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   The research, Social Critique of Domestic Conflict in the Film Dua Hati Biru by Gina S. Noer: A Feminist Review is motivated by the unequal gender relations within households resulting from patriarchal culture. Film, as a modern literary medium, is not only entertaining but also conveys social critique. The research problem encompasses the forms of social critique in domestic conflict and the feminist perspective on such conflict. This study aims to describe social critique and analyze domestic conflict through a feminist perspective. The theoretical basis uses Sugihastuti's feminist literary criticism, which encompasses subordination, stereotypes, patriarchy, power relations, double burdens, and marginalization, and is reinforced by Mansour Fakih's radical feminism, which positions patriarchy as the root of gender inequality. The research method is qualitative with content analysis. Data consist of dialogue, scenes, and film narrative. Data collection techniques include observation, note-taking, and documentation, while data analysis involves data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results demonstrate a social critique of unequal roles, economic pressure, lack of communication, and family interference. A feminist review reveals subordination, stereotypes, double burdens, marginalization, and patriarchal domination within the household. In conclusion, the film Dua Hati Biru depicts gender inequality within families due to patriarchal culture. It is recommended that further research examine more diverse subjects and approaches.

Abstract

The management of extracurricular activities plays a vital role in supporting the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile, as it serves as a vehicle for the holistic development of students' character, skills, and competencies. Well-planned, organized, directed, and sustainable extracurricular management can optimize the achievement of the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. This study aims to analyze the management of extracurricular activities in supporting the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile through a review of relevant literature. A qualitative method with a literature review approach was employed in this research. Data sources were derived from national and international journals, books, government regulations, and various scientific documents related to extracurricular management and the Pancasila Student Profile. Data analysis was conducted through the processes of identification, selection, categorization, synthesis, and interpretation of findings from various sources. The synthesis results indicate that the successful implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile is influenced by extracurricular management encompassing program planning, resource organization, character-oriented activity execution, and continuous evaluation. Extracurricular activities are also proven capable of developing students' values of mutual cooperation, independence, creativity, critical reasoning, global diversity, as well as faith and noble character, provided they are supported by collaboration among schools, teachers, parents, and the community. Consequently, effective extracurricular management constitutes a crucial strategy in fostering students whose character aligns with the Pancasila Student Profile.

Abstract

Collaboration skills are one of the essential competencies that students need to develop in the twenty-first century. However, observations conducted in Grade V of SDN Sukun 3 indicated that students' collaboration skills were still relatively low. This condition was reflected in unequal participation during group discussions, limited communication among students, uneven task distribution, and the dominance of certain group members in completing learning activities. This study aimed to improve students' collaboration skills through the implementation of a Mission-Based Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The study involved Grade V students of SDN Sukun 3 and was conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through collaboration observation sheets, field notes, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Mission-Based Teams Games Tournament learning model successfully improved students' collaboration skills. Students demonstrated better cooperation, communication, responsibility, respect for peers' opinions, and active participation in completing group tasks. Therefore, integrating group missions into the Teams Games Tournament model can create a more engaging, interactive, and collaborative learning environment in elementary school classrooms.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the fact that the school environment, as the second educational institution after the family, plays an important role in shaping students' character through school culture, leadership, social interaction, the consistent enforcement of school rules, and adequate facilities. This research aimed to analyze the influence of the school environment on the character formation of tenth- and eleventh-grade students at SMA Diponegoro 2 Jakarta. A quantitative method with a descriptive-analytical correlational approach was employed. The population consisted of students in grades X and XI, from which a sample of 75 students was determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error and a proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, validity and reliability tests, prerequisite analysis tests, the Pearson Product Moment correlation test, simple linear regression, hypothesis testing, and the coefficient of determination. The results showed a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.673, categorized as a moderate to strong relationship, with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05); the calculated r-value exceeded the r-table values of 0.214 (5%) and 0.281 (1%), so the alternative hypothesis was accepted. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 45.4% indicates that the school environment contributes substantially to students' character formation, while the remaining 54.6% is influenced by other factors such as family and peer environment. These findings confirm that a supportive, well-ordered school environment, reinforced by teacher role modeling and consistent discipline, has a positive and significant effect on the character formation of students and

Abstract

The abstract nature of salt hydrolysis often triggers learning difficulties for students. Based on observations and interviews with chemistry teachers at SMAN 14 Padang, approximately 56% of students struggled to understand this concept, particularly in determining properties and calculating the pH of solutions, which resulted in the underachievement of the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP). To address this issue, a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based salt hydrolysis e-module integrated with the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach was implemented to boost students' cognitive learning outcomes. This quasi-experimental study, employing a Nonequivalent Control Group Design, used a purposive sampling technique to assign class XI F1 as the experimental group (30 students) and class XI F2 as the control group (30 students). Data gathered through multiple-choice objective tests were analyzed, showing that all data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The experimental class achieved a significantly higher post-test mean score of 85.73 compared to the control class, which only reached 78.80. This result was reinforced by a t-test yielding a t count of 3.091, which is higher than the ttable of 2.002 at a significance level of 0.003. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the TaRL approach was evident from the N-Gain index of the Bromine (0.7342), Chlorine (0.8056), and Fluorine (0.8752) groups, all of which fell into the high category. Consequently, it can be concluded that the use of this PBL-TaRL-based e-module is highly effective in improving students' cognitive learning outcomes through an adaptive learning model.
