Abstract

Indonesian language learning on drama text material in grade XI of SMA Nurul Huda Pucuk still faces obstacles because the teaching materials used are only Student Worksheets (LKS), so they have not been able to develop critical thinking skills, creativity, and writing and speaking skills of students optimally. This condition indicates the need to develop textbooks that are appropriate to the needs of students and the characteristics of the Independent Curriculum through a Deep Learning approach. This study aims to describe the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Deep Learning-based Indonesian language textbooks on drama text material for grade XI of SMA Nurul Huda Pucuk. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of material experts, design experts, Indonesian language teachers, and grade XI students of SMA Nurul Huda Pucuk. Data collection techniques included observation, validation questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, and effectiveness questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively using percentages to determine the level of product feasibility. The results of the study showed that the textbook obtained a validity level of 97% from material experts and 91.4% from design experts with a very valid category. Practicality based on teacher assessment reached 93% with a very practical category. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of the textbook based on student responses obtained a percentage of 91% in limited trials and 92% in field trials with a very effective category. These findings indicate that the developed textbook is suitable for use as a teaching material because it is able to support mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning, increase student engagement, and facilitate the development of writing and speaking skills in drama text material.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the Quizizz-assisted Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the learning outcomes of Grade XI Office Management students in the Workplace Communication element at SMKS Rajasa Surabaya. A quantitative approach was applied using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design, involving an experimental class taught with PBL assisted by Quizizz and a control class receiving conventional instruction. Data were gathered through pretest and posttest and processed with normality, homogeneity, Independent Samples t-test, and N-Gain analyses using IBM SPSS Statistics version 27. The results showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.043 (< 0.05), so the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis accepted. The average N-Gain score reached 57.81% for the experimental class and 53.77% for the control class. It can therefore be concluded that the Quizizz-assisted PBL model has a significant effect on students' learning outcomes in the Workplace Communication element.

Abstract

Vocational high school (SMK) graduates are expected to enter the workforce with adequate readiness, yet national labor data still place SMK graduates as the largest contributor to open unemployment. This study examines the effect of field work practice (PKL) and soft skills on the work readiness of twelfth-grade students majoring in Office Management at SMK Negeri 10 Surabaya. A quantitative explanatory approach was used, with data collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 101 students selected through purposive sampling out of a population of 136. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS. The results show that PKL has a positive and significant partial effect on work readiness, soft skills also have a positive and significant partial effect, and both variables simultaneously affect work readiness with a contribution of 54.5%, while the remaining 45.5% is explained by other factors outside this study. These findings support Human Capital Theory, which views work experience and skill development as forms of human capital investment, and suggest that schools need to strengthen partnerships with industry and integrate soft skill development into learning activities so that graduates are better prepared to face the demands of the labor market.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance grade VII B students' descriptive text writing skills at SMP Negeri 3 Madiun through the discovery learning model, while also examining its influence on student engagement. The study was prompted by students' difficulty in elaborating main ideas into sufficiently detailed descriptive sentences. A two-cycle classroom action research design was employed, with each cycle progressing through planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Thirty-one grade VII B students participated as subjects, selected through purposive sampling based on their lowest diagnostic writing scores. Data were gathered through tests, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Findings revealed a steady increase in the class mean score, from 61.25 before intervention to 70.80 after cycle I, and further to 82.30 by the end of cycle II. Classical mastery likewise expanded significantly from 28.1% to 84.4%, exceeding the 75% success threshold. Student activity also progressed, shifting from a "sufficient" category (66.5%) in cycle I to a "good" category (84.2%) in cycle II. These results demonstrate that the discovery learning model effectively strengthens both descriptive writing competence and active engagement among junior high school students learning Indonesian.

Abstract

The digital transformation of national education has driven rural elementary schools, including SDN 2 Batunyala, to integrate technology into their quality control processes. However, the extent to which this perceived success aligns with nationally measured quality outcomes remains under-researched. This study aims to describe the utilization of technology in educational quality control at SDN 2 Batunyala and to compare stakeholder perceptions with the 2025 Education Report Card (Rapor Pendidikan) data. A qualitative approach with a single case study design was employed. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the principal, teachers, students, and parents, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, framed within the Total Quality Management and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) frameworks. The findings indicate that technology has been integrated into lesson planning, assessment, supervision, and school-parent communication, with all informant groups expressing positive perceptions regarding its impact on student motivation and engagement. However, the 2025 Education Report Card data revealed a decline in scores across all performance dimensions compared to the previous year, including literacy and numeracy, highlights a discrepancy between process perception and measured outcomes. This study concludes that technology-based quality control in rural elementary schools is more accurately understood as an improvement at the process and experiential levels rather than direct evidence of enhanced standardized learning outcomes. Key words: educational quality control; educational technology; TPACK; Education Report Card; case study

Abstract

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low English vocabulary pronunciation ability of third-grade students at SD Negeri 09 Koto Baru. The students still experienced difficulties in pronouncing English vocabulary, particularly vowel and consonant sounds, tended to pronounce words based on Indonesian spelling, and lacked confidence in speaking English. This study aimed to describe the factors affecting the English vocabulary pronunciation ability of third-grade students at SD Negeri 09 Koto Baru. The study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The trustworthiness of the data was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The findings revealed that students’ English vocabulary pronunciation ability was influenced by both internal and external factors. The internal factors included students’ age, learning interest, learning motivation, and self-confidence. Meanwhile, the external factors included mother tongue interference, the habit of using Indonesian in daily communication, limited family support and pronunciation practice, the social environment, and the teaching methods and learning media used by the teacher External factors were found to be the most dominant because students had limited opportunities to hear and practice English pronunciation outside the school environment. Therefore, continuous pronunciation practice, support from both families and schools, and the use of varied teaching methods and learning media are needed to improve students’ English pronunciation ability.

Abstract

The use of digital learning media has become increasingly important in elementary education, particularly in creating learning activities that are attractive, interactive, and appropriate to students' characteristics. This study aimed to describe Teacher's Perception Towards the Use of Canva Interactive Media in Learning Indonesian Vocabulary of Grade III Students of SDN 2 Jambu Hilir Baluti, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subject was the third-grade teacher. Data were collected through interviews, limited participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman (2014) interactive model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data validity was examined through technical triangulation. The findings showed that the teacher had a positive perception of the ease of using Canva in preparing and implementing vocabulary learning. Canva was considered practical because of its templates and visual features that helped the teacher present learning materials attractively. The use of Canva was also perceived to increase students' interest, engagement, and understanding. Students appeared more enthusiastic, attentive, and actively involved in answering questions and participating in discussions. Visual elements such as images, colors, and designs helped students understand and remember vocabulary. However, several obstacles were identified, including the time required to prepare learning media, occasional internet connection problems, and the teacher's limited mastery of some advanced Canva features. Overall, interactive Canva media provided a positive contribution to Indonesian vocabulary learning in the third grade of elementary school.
