Abstract

The Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP) is a crucial vehicle routing method in logistics management. This concept focuses on finding the minimum travel distance from an origin point to all destination locations, under the assumption that each point is visited exactly once before the vehicle returns to the starting point. Through the application of TSP, companies can minimize operational costs and improve travel time efficiency. Therefore, this approach serves as a highly effective solution for obtaining optimal routes in product distribution systems. This study was conducted to optimize package delivery routes in Rejosari Village using the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) algorithm. In the package delivery process, several obstacles arise, such as recipients not being at home, inaccurate addresses, and weather changes, which render delivery routes inefficient. These conditions require an optimal routing system that can increase courier time and travel distance efficiency. This research adopts a graph modeling approach, in which each delivery location is represented as a node and the distance between two locations as an edge weight. The coordinate data of the recipient locations are then processed into a distance matrix, which forms the basis for the TSP algorithm calculations. The algorithm is subsequently used to identify the optimal route that visits all delivery points with minimum distance before returning to the origin point. The results demonstrate that the application of the TSP algorithm reduces both total delivery distance and delivery time compared to conventional methods. Consequently, utilizing the TSP algorithm offers a highly effective solution to enhance the efficiency of distribution and logistics systems for package delivery in Rejosari Village.

Abstract

Advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) offer new opportunities for teachers to improve the efficiency and quality of instructional material development. However, the use of AI in developing Pancasila Education instructional materials at the elementary school level still faces various challenges. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the development of Pancasila Education teaching materials and to identify obstacles and solutions regarding its use at SD Negeri 1 Bebalang. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, involving one Pancasila Education teacher as the research subject. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and analysis of teaching modules. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, while data validity was tested using source triangulation and methodological triangulation. The results indicate that AI assists teachers in formulating learning objectives, designing learning activities, developing instructional media, and creating assessments more efficiently. However, the outputs generated by AI still require validation and adaptation to the curriculum and student characteristics. Challenges identified include AI outputs that do not fully align with learning needs, difficulties in crafting effective prompts, limited internet connectivity, and the absence of guidelines for AI use at the school. These challenges were addressed by refining prompts, validating AI outputs, utilizing alternative learning resources, and enhancing teachers’ competencies. Thus, AI has the potential to serve as a supportive technology in the development of instructional materials when used critically, ethically, and responsibly.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of critical reading skills of sixth-semester students of the English Language Education Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar in analyzing complex academic articles. Recognizing that critical reading is essential for academic success and future thesis writing, this research employed a descriptive quantitative design to systematically assess these competencies. The sample consisted of 32 sixth-semester students who participated fully in the study. Data were collected through a specially designed Critical Reading Test consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions. This instrument was formulated to accurately measure five core reading indicators across high-level cognitive processes: interpreting meaning, analyzing author bias, evaluating evidence, drawing valid conclusions, and synthesizing scientific information. The collected data were processed and analyzed using descriptive statistics with IBM SPSS Statistics version 25. The results revealed that the mean score of the students' critical reading ability was 94.75, with a median of 96.00, a mode of 96.00, and a standard deviation of 5.962. The minimum score obtained was 80, and the maximum score was 100. Based on the established classification criteria, 100% of the respondents (32 students) achieved the "Excellent" level. Notably, no students were classified into the Good, Average, Poor, or Very Poor categories. These findings indicate that the students possess outstanding higher-order thinking skills and an advanced capacity to effectively evaluate academic arguments, research methods, and scientific evidence. Ultimately, this high proficiency is closely linked to the successful curriculum integration of sequential reading courses and intensive research methodology training, which could serve as a valuable model for similar educational programs.

Abstract

The Love-Based Curriculum (Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta/KBC) is a madrasah curriculum policy launched by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs through Ministerial Decree Number 1503 of 2025, positioning love as the central axis for shaping students' character across all levels of madrasah education, including Islamic Elementary Schools (MI). This article aims to describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation of KBC in Akidah Akhlak (Islamic Faith and Ethics) instruction at MI NU Walisongo Sumberrejo, as well as to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through classroom observation, interviews with teachers and the head of the madrasah, and documentation of teaching materials. The findings indicate that KBC implementation is carried out by internalizing five pillars of love—love for God, self, others, knowledge, and the environment/homeland—into lesson planning, humanistic and student-centered instruction, and holistic assessment covering attitudes, knowledge, and skills. This implementation has fostered stronger emotional bonds between teachers and students, greater mutual respect, and a warmer, more enjoyable classroom atmosphere. Challenges identified include teachers' partial understanding of the KBC concept, limited instructional time, and insufficient facilities for project-based learning. This article recommends strengthening teacher training, providing technical guidelines, and enhancing collaboration with parents to optimize KBC implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe student engagement in learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) assisted by diorama media among third-grade students at SD Negeri Geneng 02. Student engagement is examined through three dimensions: behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through classroom observation and semi-structured interviews with the classroom teacher and six students. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, and validated through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that diorama media increased student’s attention, curiosity, and willingness to participate, particularly at the moment the media was introduced, yet engagement was not evenly distributed among students. Behavioral engagement was reflected in students' attentiveness and task completion, although voluntary participation remained limited for some students. Emotional engagement appeared through expressions of enjoyment and curiosity, while a few students remained emotionally neutral. Cognitive engagement varied more sharply: some students actively connected the diorama to prior experience and constructed reasoned answers, whereas others relied on peers and struggled to elaborate their understanding. This study concludes that concrete media, such as dioramas, can support student engagement in elementary school science learning. However, sustainjng students cognitive engagement requires tergeted teacher guidance, particularly for student who tend to be passive during the learning process.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) learning model, supported by "BUDARIER" flipbook media, on the understanding of IPAS (Natural and Social Sciences) concepts among elementary school students. This study employs a quantitative quasi-experimental approach using a non-equivalent control group design. The population consisted of all students from SDN 03 Pringapus and SDN 01 Klepu; the sample was selected via purposive sampling, with the Grade IV class at SDN 03 Pringapus serving as the experimental group and the Grade IV class at SDN 01 Klepu as the control group. Data collection involved concept understanding tests, lesson implementation observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. Data analysis techniques included prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity tests) and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T-Test and simple linear regression. The analysis results indicate that: (1) there is a significant difference in IPAS concept understanding between the experimental group—using the TTW model with "BUDARIER" flipbook media—and the control group; and (2) the implementation of the TTW learning model supported by "BUDARIER" flipbook media has a positive and significant effect on students' understanding of IPAS concepts. Thus, the combination of the TTW model and "BUDARIER" flipbook media is effective in enhancing the quality of students' concept understanding regarding cultural diversity material.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the strategies employed by Akidah Akhlak (Islamic Creed and Ethics) teachers to foster character development among eighth-grade students at MTs MDIA Taqwa Makassar, as well as to understand the character-building patterns applied to shape student behavior. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The study was conducted at MTs MDIA Taqwa Makassar, involving Akidah Akhlak teachers and eighth-grade students as subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was verified using source, technique, and time triangulation. The results indicate that Akidah Akhlak teachers employ several strategies for character development: habituation, modeling, offering counsel (mau’izah), personal approaches, and the use of rewards and punishments. Habituation is implemented through religious activities—such as reciting prayers, Tadarus (Quranic recitation), congregational prayers, and exchanging greetings—as well as by fostering polite behavior and respect for teachers and peers. Modeling involves demonstrating good behavior in daily life, while personal approaches are used to provide guidance to students facing character-related issues. The character-building pattern integrates ethical values into Akidah Akhlak instruction, daily habituation, religious activities, modeling, counsel, and personal guidance. The findings reveal positive changes in student behavior, particularly regarding religiosity, honesty, responsibility, discipline, politeness, and respect for teachers. Thus, the strategies employed by Akidah Akhlak teachers play a crucial role in shaping student character, enabling students to understand, internalize, and apply ethical values in their daily lives.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of teachers in handling bullying behavior and to identify the challenges faced by teachers among sixth-grade students at SDN 242 Balubue, Soppeng Regency. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the sixth-grade homeroom teacher and the school principal, observations of teacher activities and student interactions, and relevant documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings show that the teacher plays several roles in handling bullying behavior, namely as an educator, counselor, role model, supervisor, and mediator. These roles are implemented through education on respectful behavior, student guidance and support, positive modeling, supervision of student interactions, and persuasive conflict resolution. Observations showed that student interactions were generally conducive, with no students observed to be socially excluded, although occasional teasing occurred in the context of joking. The challenges faced by the teacher included limited time, students' reluctance to report bullying, difficulties in collaborating with some parents, and limited monitoring of students' digital interactions outside school. These findings indicate that addressing bullying in elementary schools requires consistent teacher involvement as well as support from the school and family.
