Abstract

Character education is an important part of the learning process in elementary schools, especially in instilling the value of responsibility as a basis for forming students' attitudes and behavior. However, research still found students who have not demonstrated optimal responsible behavior in learning activities. This study aims to analyze the character value of responsibility of students in the subject of Pancasila Education grade IV at SDN 1 Bandung Tulungagung. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The subjects of the study included fourth-grade students and fourth-grade teachers. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the character value of responsibility of students has been evident through the behavior of doing and completing assignments, discipline in participating in learning, compliance with class rules, and concern for the school environment. However, some students were still found to be inconsistent in demonstrating a sense of responsibility, such as late submission of assignments and dependence on help from friends. The conclusion of this study shows that the character value of responsibility has been implemented in Pancasila Education learning, but still needs to be strengthened through continuous habituation and teacher role models.

Abstract

The increasingly competitive labor market encourages fresh graduates to develop strategies for managing their professional identity, one of which is through the utilization of LinkedIn as a professional social media platform. LinkedIn not only functions as a job-search platform but also serves as a digital performance space where individuals engage in impression management practices before professional audiences. This study aims to examine the impression management practices of fresh graduates on LinkedIn through Erving Goffman’s dramaturgical perspective. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through online observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of informants’ LinkedIn profiles and activities, selected using purposive sampling. The findings reveal that fresh graduates’ impression management practices occur through a dynamic relationship between the front stage and backstage. The backstage functions as a preparation space where actors conduct research, evaluation, information arrangement, and selection before presenting themselves on the front stage. Meanwhile, responses from professional audiences toward front-stage performances become feedback that encourages actors to evaluate and renegotiate the professional identity they present. On the front stage, LinkedIn functions as a digital setting where actors construct their personal front through appearance and manner, involving the management of displayed attributes, professional information, and ways of communicating their competencies. This study identifies two patterns of professional self-presentation: a formal-professional pattern that emphasizes competencies and achievements, and an authentic-personal pattern that combines professional identity with personal characteristics. Thus, fresh graduates’ impression management on LinkedIn represents a dramaturgical process that continuously occurs through a cycle of preparation, performance, audience response, and further adjustment of the presented professional identity.

Abstract

Attention-seeking behavior is one of the disruptive behaviors often exhibited by elementary school students, particularly in lower grades. This study aims to describe the forms of attention-seeking behavior displayed by second-grade students at SDN 14 Tangkalasi and to analyze the strategies used by teachers to manage such behavior. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were second-grade teachers and students who showed attention-seeking behavior. The findings reveal that attention-seeking behaviors manifest in various forms, including calling out loudly, disturbing friends, making excessive noise, and displaying exaggerated emotions. The strategies implemented by teachers include: (1) positive reinforcement and praise for appropriate behavior, (2) planned ignoring of minor disruptive behaviors, (3) providing individual attention at scheduled times, (4) assigning special responsibilities to the students, and (5) collaborating with parents and the school counselor. These strategies proved effective in reducing the frequency and intensity of attention-seeking behavior, thereby creating a more conducive learning environment. This study recommends that teachers consistently apply a combination of preventive, supportive, and corrective strategies to address attention-seeking behavior effectively.

Abstract

Speaking skill is a crucial ability for students to master in English language learning; however, many students still struggle to express their ideas due to limitations in vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, fluency, and accuracy. This study aims to determine the improvement in students' speaking skills through the use of the Mystery Box Presentation Game. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology conducted over two cycles, with each cycle comprising planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 32 students from class X.4 at MAN 1 Makassar during the 2025/2026 academic year. Research instruments included speaking tests and observation sheets. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics—calculating mean scores, score classifications, and percentage improvements—while observational data were analyzed descriptively. The results indicate that the Mystery Box Presentation Game successfully improved students' speaking skills. This improvement was evident in the rise of students' mean scores across cycles and the shift in score classifications from the "low" category to "Good" and "Very Good." Furthermore, all aspects of speaking skills—pronunciation, fluency, accuracy, grammar, and vocabulary—showed improvement. Observations also revealed that students became more active, confident, and motivated to participate in classroom speaking activities. Thus, it can be concluded that the Mystery Box Presentation Game is an effective teaching strategy for enhancing students' speaking skills.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools is often still conventional and less connected to students' cultural backgrounds, resulting in low motivation and suboptimal learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the implementation of local wisdom-based e-modules using the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach to improve students' learning motivation and learning outcomes in elementary schools. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by reviewing various national and international scientific journal articles published between 2020 and 2025. The review process was conducted through stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion based on the PRISMA procedure. The findings indicate that the implementation of local wisdom-based e-modules integrated with the CRT approach positively affects students' motivation and learning outcomes. The integration of local culture into learning materials, the use of interactive multimedia, contextual learning experiences, digital assessment, and teacher guidance were found to increase students' engagement, conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, digital literacy, and active participation in learning. In addition, the CRT approach creates a more inclusive, meaningful, and enjoyable learning environment because students' cultural identities are recognized and valued in the learning process. Therefore, local wisdom-based e-modules with the CRT approach can serve as an innovative learning alternative to support contextual and culturally responsive learning in elementary schools.
