Abstract

Literacy culture plays a crucial role in life because knowledge is essentially discovered through reading and writing activities. By reading more, individuals can learn many things they previously did not know. There are numerous benefits of reading in life, such as broadening horizons and increasing knowledge, improving language skills, enhancing imagination, and many more. The low reading literacy in Indonesia makes Indonesian education lag behind other countries. Based on the results of the 2022 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) Survey, Indonesia's reading literacy score has decreased compared to 2018. One of the causes of the low literacy culture in Indonesia is the lack of interest and habit of reading. Interest in reading needs to be formed and trained from an early age, because interest in reading is not something that is automatically possessed from birth. One of the efforts made by the government is to implement the School Literacy Movement (GLS). Based on the results of the study from the pre-action stage to cycle III, there was a significant increase in students' reading literacy skills for fiction books at SMP Negeri 11 Medan. At the pre-action stage, the average student score only reached 66.5 with a completion of 53.13%. After the action was carried out in cycle I, the average score increased to 68.44 with a completion of 34.38%. Improvements continued in cycle II with an average score of 76.13 and completion reaching 84.38%. The peak occurred in cycle III, where the average student score increased to 78.19 and completion reached 93.75%. This increase shows that the implementation of reading literacy activities in a gradual and structured manner can significantly improve students' reading skills for fiction texts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of income level and tax knowledge on taxpayer compliance in paying Land and Building Tax (PBB) in Labuhan Badas District, Sumbawa Regency. The background of this study is based on the low realization of national PBB-P2 revenue, which has not yet reached the target, indicating a problem with taxpayer compliance. This study employs a quantitative approach with a causal associative design and involves 100 randomly selected PBB-P2 taxpayers. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that income level has a positive and significant effect on taxpayer compliance, where higher income is associated with higher compliance levels. Tax knowledge also has a positive and significant effect, indicating that a good understanding of taxation encourages voluntary compliance. Simultaneously, these two variables are able to influence taxpayer compliance. This study emphasizes the importance of tax education and economic capacity-based policies to improve PBB taxpayer compliance in developing regions. These findings are expected to provide input for local governments in designing strategies to optimize PBB-P2 revenue collection.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) learning model on students’ learning outcomes in Indonesian speaking skills. The background of this research stems from the low learning outcomes of class VA students at SD Inpres Minasaupa 1, particularly in speaking skills. The method used is an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population and sample consisted of all 21 students of class VA. Data collection techniques involved oral tests to assess speaking skills, including pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and fluency. The Inside Outside Circle model is part of a cooperative learning approach that encourages students to share information with different partners in a structured rotation. This model emphasizes active student participation, especially in verbal communication activities. The results showed a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes after implementing the IOC model. The average pretest score was 57.86, while the posttest score increased to 70.71. A paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of < 0.001, indicating a statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. In conclusion, the use of the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) learning model has a positive and significant effect on improving students' speaking skills in Indonesian language learning. This research suggests that teachers can apply the Inside Outside Circle (IOC) model as an effective alternative method to enhance learning outcomes, especially speaking skills, at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in shaping the moral development of fourth-grade students at SDN 4 Cilangkap. The research stems from growing concerns regarding moral degradation among elementary students, which manifests through impolite behavior, dishonesty, and a lack of respect towards teachers and peers. The study aims to (1) describe the implementation of PAI in the classroom, (2) analyze the moral behavior of students, and (3) identify supporting and inhibiting factors in moral development. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that while the school has implemented regular religious activities such as communal prayers, Quran recitation, and Islamic values integration in daily routines, students still face challenges in internalizing moral values. Influencing factors include the role of parents, teachers, school culture, and external influences such as media and peer interaction. The study concludes that although the PAI curriculum plays a vital role in promoting moral awareness, its effectiveness is contingent upon consistency in application and collaboration between school and home environments. Therefore, for Islamic education to effectively shape student morality, it must be reinforced through a holistic approach involving structured learning, character-based practices, and active moral modeling by educators and parents alike.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of integrating Augmented Reality (AR) media based on Assemblr Edu with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on science learning, specifically the solar system topic in elementary school. The abstract nature of solar system concepts requires a meaningful and interactive visual approach to enhance students' comprehension. This research employed a quantitative method using a quasi- experimental design involving two groups of sixth-grade students at SDN Kebon Baru 4 Kota Cirebon: an experimental group (utilizing AR and PjBL) and a control group (conventional methods). The findings indicate that the integration of AR media and the PjBL model significantly improved students’ conceptual understanding, learning motivation, collaborative skills, and critical thinking. The three-dimensional visualizations provided by AR facilitated comprehension of planetary positions and characteristics, while the project-based learning approach encouraged active student engagement. Therefore, combining AR and PjBL presents an innovative instructional strategy that aligns with the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum in primary education.
