Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

The research conducted aims to develop an interactive media assisted by Canva using the PBL model to increase students' interest in learning food chain material in grade V of elementary school. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study conducted using the 4D development procedure. To collect the required data, the researcher used a validation questionnaire given to several expert validators and a student learning interest questionnaire to measure students' interest in learning before and after using the developed media. From the results of the media expert validation, a validity score of 84 was obtained with the criteria "Very Eligible" and from the material expert validation, a validity score of 89.2 was obtained with the criteria "Very Eligible". Before the learning process using interactive media assisted by Canva with the PBL model, it was known that the student's learning interest score was only 68.16 with the criteria "Good". After the learning process was carried out in grade V of Elementary School 060818 Medan Denai using interactive media assisted by Canva with the developed PBL model, the student's learning interest score became 81.04 with the criteria "Very Good".

This study aims to determine the effect of inquiry learning models on the learning outcomes of science in grade IV of elementary school. This research method uses quantitative research, using experimental design, the type of experimental design used is quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design, the sampling technique used in this study is using the nonprobability sampling technique. The sampling technique is saturated sampling. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class consisting of 25 students (grade IV A of SD Negeri 1 Darma) and the control class consisting of 28 students (grade IV B of SD Negeri 1 Darma). Data were collected through pre-test and post-test tests. The learning outcomes of grade IV students in the subject of science before the application of the inquiry model in the experimental class got an average score of 62, while the learning outcomes of grade IV students after the application of the inquiry model in the experimental class got an average score of 85. The learning outcomes of students in the control class before conventional learning took place, students got an average score of 60, while the learning outcomes of students after conventional learning took place got an average score of 72. Therefore, the results of the calculation showed that the average score of the experimental class was better than the average of the experimental class. With this, the results of this study indicate an increase in the learning outcomes of grade IV science in the experimental class and the control class. So it can be concluded that the inquiry learning model can improve student learning outcomes in science lessons in grade IV Elementary School.

Listening skills are an essential component in language learning, particularly for elementary school students who are still in the stage of developing basic language abilities. However, in many learning settings, listening activities are often delivered conventionally, which tends to be less engaging and less effective. This study aims to determine the effect of using animated video media on the listening skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 90 Palembang in the context of learning folk tales. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The study involved two classes: one experimental class taught using animated video media and one control class taught using conventional methods. Data were collected through pretest and posttest using essay-type listening comprehension questions. The results of the study show that students taught with animated video media demonstrate higher improvement in their listening skills compared to those taught conventionally. The use of animated videos provides a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience, increasing students’ focus and comprehension. Based on the hypothesis test, there is a significant difference in the listening skills outcomes between the two groups, indicating that animated video media has a positive and effective impact on students' listening abilities. Therefore, animated videos can be considered as an innovative and effective alternative learning medium in improving listening skills in elementary education.

The purpose of this study was to examine the application of the flipped classroom model in learning Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) at the elementary school level. IPAS learning is expected to not only focus on delivering material, but also be able to foster activeness, curiosity, and optimal student involvement. The flipped classroom model is an innovative alternative that can reverse conventional learning patterns, by presenting learning materials first through digital media to be studied independently at home, then using face-to-face time in class for discussion, questions and answers, and collaborative problem solving. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation and literature study of five scientific articles published in 2020–2025. The results of the study show that the flipped classroom model has great potential in improving cognitive learning outcomes, conceptual understanding, and active involvement of students in IPAS learning in elementary schools.

The curfew policy for students is a strategic initiative by the Purwakarta Regency Government to support the development of the Panca Waluya generation, as mandated by the Circular Letter of the Governor of West Java Number 51/PA.03/DISDIK and reinforced by the Circular Letter of the Regent of Purwakarta Number 100.3.4/916-Disdik/2025. This study aims to explore the process of implementing the student curfew policy, stakeholder responses, and the challenges encountered in its local execution. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, consisting of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results show that the policy implementation has received support from most stakeholders, but it faces challenges in terms of supervision, cross-sectoral coordination, and public dissemination. The findings imply the need to strengthen the role of village task forces (Satgas Desa), integrate school and community programs, and adopt a cultural approach to supervision to ensure the effectiveness of the policy in shaping student character that aligns with the values of Cageur, Bageur, Bener, Pinter, and Singer.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pecahan setengah pada siswa kelas II UPT SD Negeri Doromukti dengan me nggunakan media papan pecahan. Metode yang diterapkan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis & Mctaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, yang terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu: mencakup tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Penelitian dilakukan di UPT SD Negeri Doromukti dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 11 siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwasanya penggunaan media papan pecahan itu dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar. Persentase ke tuntasan belajar meningkat dari 45,4% pada siklus I hingga mencapai 72,7% pada siklus II. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa media papan pecahan terbukti dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran motivasi dan prestasi, serta signifikansi hubungan keduanya pada aktivitas belajar siswa di SDN 101786 pada Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Pendekatan digunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 87 siswa kelas IV-VI. Data diperoleh melalui angket yang mengukur motivasi belajar dan nilai rapor yang berfungsi sebagai indikator prestasi belajar. Analisis menggunakan korelasi Pearson Product Moment dan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya keterkaitan motivasi belajar dengan prestasi akademik, dilihat dari nilai korelasi (r) sebesar 0,862 dan signifikansi (2-tailed) adalah 0,000, yang kurang dari nilai signifikansi 0,05. Koefisien determinasi (r²) adalah 0,743 menandakan penyebab kontribusi motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi akademik adalah sebesar 74,3%. Ini mengindikasikan bahwa peningkatan motivasi siswa akan diikuti oleh peningkatan prestasi belajar mereka. Temuan ini didukung oleh berbagai teori motivasi seperti yang diungkapkan oleh Sardiman dan Carl Rogers, serta hasil penelitian sebelumnya yang menunjukkan pengaruh positif motivasi terhadap pencapaian akademik siswa. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar memiliki peran penting yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan keberhasilan akademik di sekolah dasar. Peningkatan motivasi belajar menjadi kunci dalam mendukung pencapaian hasil belajar yang optimal.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the conceptual understanding of fifth grade students in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) through the Two-Tier-Test evaluation applied in out-of-class learning. This study was based on the low conceptual understanding of students, especially in the material of light propagation. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted at SD Negeri 3 Nawangan involving 15 students. The results showed that before this strategy, most students experienced low conceptual understanding and had difficulty understanding the basic concepts of learning. Then there was a significant change after the out-of-class learning method was used with this evaluation. Students were able to answer and provide reasons logically. This study proves that the combination of contextual learning and diagnostic evaluation is an effective strategy to improve the quality of IPAS learning.

Pendidikan karakter telah menjadi salah satu fokus utama dalam sistem pendidikan global, terutama dalam membentuk individu yang tidak hanya cerdas secara intelektual, tetapi juga memiliki integritas moral. beberapa penelitian masih ditemui adanya gap atau kesenjangan penelitian. Fokus penelitian dalam studi ini adalah peneliti mencoba mendeskripsikan pendidikan surau yang dapat membentuk karakter Islami remaja Minangkabau melalui pendekatan yang holistik dan terstrukturPenelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Sumber data penelitian ini menggunakan data primer seperti buku literatur islam, serta data sekunder meliputi jurnal, buku, dan dokumen resmi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan analisis historis. Yang dimana, peneliti ingin menggali serta menelaah berbagai sumber informasi yang mengungkapkan masa lampau dan masa sekarang. Salah satu prinsip yang menjadi pilar dalam kehidupan sosial dan pemerintahan adat Minangkabau adalah Tungku Tigo Sajarangan. Elemen tersebut yaitu Niniak Mamak sebagai pemimpin adat, Alim Ulama sebagai pemimpin agama, dan Cadiak Pandai sebagai cendekiawan. Terdapat berbagai tokoh agama di lembaga pendidikan surau Minangkabau yang diketahui mempunyai peran kuat dalam membentuk karakter Islami Masyarakat. Dengan demikian, pendidikan surau itu layak sebagai model pendidikan karakter yang ideal. Serta terbukti secara historis menjadi sarana dalam pembentukan karakter Islami di kalangan remaja dari aktivitas pembelajaran, pembiasaan ataupun keteladanan dari guru terkait.

One of the most efficient ways to improve student engagement and comprehension is through technology-based interactive learning activities. The state of schools that still do not fully employ learning media and the unequal usage of technology to enhance the effectiveness of learning activities are the driving forces behind this study. As a result, creating technology-based educational materials specifically, interactive videos is essential. This study intends to characterize the applicability and validity of interactive video learning materials based on TGT that are aided by QR Codes and Canva. Development research (R&D) is the term for this kind of study. The present study used the ADDIE model, which has the following components: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Fifteen fifth-grade students from SDN 3 Mojosari served as the research subjects. Validation sheets for media and material experts as well as observation sheets are the research tools utilized. Both qualitative and quantitative data kinds were acquired.Media experts gave the TGT-based interactive video learning materials, which were made using Canva and QR Code, an average percentage of 92.8%, and material experts gave them an average percentage of 91.6%, indicating that they were legitimate. The overall proportion of findings qualified as applicable without adjustments. Based on the findings of the data analysis, the TGT-based interactive video learning resources for grade V SD that were produced using Canva and QR Codes are judged to be extremely valid and relevant.
