Abstract

This study examines the effectveness of problem-based statistical learning models in enhancing elementary school students' understanding of concepts and problem-solving skills. The population in this study consists of all sixth-grade students at SDN Banjarejo in Madiun City, comprising two classes, each with 28 students. Using a quasi-experimental non-equValent control group design, two classes were identified as experimental and control groups. The experimental class implemented problem-based learning, while the control group followed conventional learning methods. Data were collected through pretests and posttests and analyzed using independent t-tests and paired t-tests. The results show that problem-based learning significantly improves concept understanding and problem-solving abilities compared to conventional methods. The experimental group recorded an average increase of 23 points in posttest scores, while the control group increased by only 10 points. Statistical analysis indicates a significant difference between the two groups in posttest score improvement (t-value = -3.45, df = 54, p < 0.05). These findings affirm that problem-based statistical learning approaches are effectVe in enhancing students' mathematics learning outcomes, providing relevant learning contexts and increasing student engagement in the learning process. The implications of this research support the use of innovatVe learning models to strengthen mathematical concept understanding at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This research aims to review the Pancasila Student Profile as an effort to realize student character from Thomas Lickona's perspective. The method used in this research is a library research approach, where library research can be interpreted as a series of activities relating to methods of collecting library data, reading and taking notes and processing research materials. The Pancasila Student Profile is a character development framework based on Pancasila values. The six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile are in line with the three key elements of character education according to Thomas Lickona: knowing the good, loving the good, and doing the good. This research explains how the Pancasila Student Profile can be implemented in learning to help students develop strong character. This implementation can be done through various methods, such as project-based learning, collaborative learning, and authentic assessment. The results of this research explain several challenges and strategies in implementing the Pancasila Student Profile. These challenges include a lack of understanding about character education, lack of resources, and a school culture that is not yet supportive. Strategies to overcome these challenges include increasing outreach and education about character education, strengthening resources, and building a supportive school culture.

Abstract

Indonesia is rich in diverse culture and local wisdom, one of which is the Mandar tribe tradition in Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi. This local wisdom plays an important role in forming the character of individuals and society. The "Mepuang" and "Metabe" traditions of the Mandar tribe are two examples of local wisdom that are full of moral and ethical values. Mepuang is a tradition of welcoming guests with full respect, reflecting friendliness, respect and politeness. Metabe is a tradition of mutual cooperation that emphasizes cooperation, solidarity and social responsibility. Character education aims to form students who are not only intellectually intelligent but also have noble character. The integration of local wisdom values in character education in elementary schools is expected to be an effective approach in achieving this goal. This research explores how the local wisdom of the Mandar Tribe, especially the Mepuang and Metabe, can contribute to the character education of elementary school students in Polewali Mandar Regency. This research methodology uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and participant observation to collect data from various sources, including teachers, students and local traditional leaders. The research results show that the integration of Mepuang and Metabe values in the curriculum and school activities can form better student characters in terms of cooperation, responsibility and politeness. This research concludes that local wisdom has great potential to enrich character education in elementary schools. The implementation of local cultural values not only preserves cultural heritage but also strengthens the character of the younger generation in facing the challenges of globalization. Effective integration between formal education and local wisdom is the key to the success of character education in Indonesia.
