Abstract

The purpose of this development research is to develop teaching media in the form of Pop Up Book on Speaking Skills of Third Grade Students at Tangerang 2 State Elementary School using the ADDIE model and method. This research uses observation instruments, interviews, documentation, questionnaires and tests (pre-test & post-test). The results of validation from media experts get a score of 4.4 with a validity level of 87% which is classified as “Worthy (Valid)”. While the results of validation from material experts obtained a score of 4.3 with a validity level of 86% which is classified as “Eligible (Valid)”. Then the validation results from the assessment of the class teacher get a score of 95% which is classified as “Very Feasible”. The results of the student response questionnaire assessment in the small (5 students) and medium (10 students) scale trials received a scoring average of 4.46 with an average feasibility value of 89% which is classified as “Very Good / Very Feasible”. Then the results of the student Post-Test on small and medium scale trials are said to have increased above the minimum achievement target of 80%, which can be categorized as “very good”. Thus it can be concluded that the product developed in the form of Pop Up Book media is very feasible to be used in learning activities in the speaking skills of third grade students at Tangerang 2 State Elementary School.   Keywords: speaking skills, pop up book, elementary education

Abstract

In today's digital era, ppt or pptx files are crucial for presentations or data processing in the professional world. Using pptx for presentations allows for a more organized and structured presentation according to the design. However, the size of pptx files can be quite large compared to other data, leading to storage wastage. Thus, compression is needed. When compressing pptx files, it is important to balance file size and content quality. Higher compression levels reduce file size but may affect file quality. Data compression is a technique used to reduce file or information size without compromising data quality or significance. In an age of abundant data, data compression is essential for saving storage space and speeding up information transfer. By eliminating redundancy and utilizing existing data patterns, data compression can create a more efficient and compact representation. The challenge arises as pptx file sizes tend to be larger than other data due to the extensive use of slides, which wastes storage and slows down data transfer. To address this issue, a data reduction technique or compression is needed. Compression aims to reduce data size to a smaller size, and the compression parameters obtained include the ratio of compression, compression ratio, and space saving.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the demonstration method in teaching Islamic jurisprudence, specifically focusing on the topic of prayer, at SD ‘Aisyiyah 1 Mataram. In the context of a school with a rigorous Islamic curriculum, the demonstration method is expected to provide a clear depiction of prayer practices and enhance students' practical skills. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection methods such as interviews, observations, and documentation, with data analysis conducted through qualitative descriptive techniques. The findings reveal that the demonstration method is effective in helping students understand and practice the movements of prayer. Key factors contributing to the method’s effectiveness include thorough preparation, the provision of appropriate teaching aids, and the strategic placement of the demonstration area. However, certain limitations such as the availability of tools and classroom space need to be addressed to optimize learning outcomes. Overall, this study underscores that the demonstration method has significant potential to improve students’ understanding and practice of prayer when applied with proper planning, innovation, and ongoing evaluation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN Pagesangan Surabaya dengan subjek siswa kelas III SD pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025, melibatkan 29 siswa. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan dari Juli hingga Agustus 2024 melalui dua siklus, mengikuti model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang terdiri dari empat tahapan: perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data tes dan non-tes. Siswa dikelompokkan dalam lima kelompok berdasarkan kemampuan: kelompok 1 mendapat bimbingan intensif, kelompok 2 dan 3 bimbingan sedang, sedangkan kelompok 4 dan 5 hanya dikonfirmasi dan dimotivasi. Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) diterapkan dalam siklus, meliputi orientasi permasalahan, organisasi, bimbingan, pengembangan, dan evaluasi. Hasil mencakup penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa: skor rata-rata meningkat dari 65,2 pada Pra Siklus menjadi 75,5 pada Siklus I dan 89,6 pada Siklus II. Media pembelajaran yang digunakan, seperti “kalkulator matematika” dan kuis, efektif dalam mendukung kerjasama kelompok dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research aims to improve vocabulary acquisition among first-grade students using flashcards at SD Negeri 060912 Medan for the 2024/2025 academic year. Initial observations revealed that students' understanding of letters and words was not meeting developmental expectations. Only 8 out of 21 students were able to read well, while most struggled with letter recognition and word reading. To address this issue, the research employed flashcards to enhance early reading skills. The study involved 21 students (12 boys and 9 girls) as subjects. Research instruments included observation sheets, student worksheets, and pretests and posttests for cycles 1 and 2. The results showed a significant improvement in vocabulary acquisition: in cycle I, 47.61% of students had not reached the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), whereas in cycle II, 85.71% of students surpassed the KKM. This indicates that using flashcards effectively improved students' vocabulary acquisition.

Abstract

This research aims to improve collaboration skills through the application of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) model in the science content of grade IV SDN Kedurus III, from the initial data it was found that the level of collaboration between students was still low, because students did not do enough discussion activities which resulted in difficulties in grouping. The type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out for 2 cycles with the Kemmis & Mc. Taggart model, namely Planning, (2) Implementation, (3) Observation and (4) Reflection of Results. The subjects of the study were 26 students. The data analysis techniques used in this study were descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The results of the study showed that the percentage of collaboration skills in the pre-cycle was 12 students 46.1% with a fairly collaborative category, in cycle I there were 14 students 57.7% with a good collaborative category and in cycle II there were 21 students (80.8%) with a very collaborative category. Based on these data, there is an increase in each cycle, thus the application of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) model can improve students' collaboration skills.

Abstract

The problem in this research is the lack of process skills in science learning and the low value of the WASAKA character, including discipline and hard work, in the learning process. This is caused by learning methods that are still one way, lack of implementation of STEM, and lack of emphasis on character values. Solution efforts were made by combining the Problem Based Learning, Teams Games Tournament and STEM models. This research aims to analyze WASAKA's science process skills and character using Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research subjects were class VA students at SDN Basirih 1 Banjarmasin for the 2023/2024 academic year with 33 students. The data used is qualitative and quantitative. The research results showed an increase in science process skills from 0% to 97% and an increase in WASAKA character from 15% to 94% classically from cycles I to II. In conclusion, the combination of learning models is effective in improving science process skills and WASAKA character.

Abstract

The learning outcomes of Class IX D students on the topic of social change at SMPN 18 Surabaya are still low. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes on this topic by implementing Lumio by Smart as a learning medium. This research is a classroom action study conducted in three stages: pre-cycle, the first cycle, and the second cycle. Each cycle includes several key steps: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study consisted of 32 students from Class IX D in the 2024-2025 academic year. According to the research results, before the implementation of Lumio by Smart, only 10 students, or approximately 31.25%, achieved the Learning Objective Mastery Criteria (KKTP). However, after the implementation of this learning medium, there was a significant improvement. In the first cycle, the number of students achieving KKTP increased to 23 students, or 71.87%. Furthermore, in the second cycle, the number increased to 28 students, or 87.50%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of Lumio by Smart can improve student learning outcomes, especially in the topic of social change.

Abstract

This research aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes for grade 3 elementary school students using crossword puzzle as learning media and to serve and describe how crossword puzzle media influence the learning outcome. The method used in this research is the Kemmis and Mc Taggart research method with 2 cycles. The subjects in this research were 3rd grade students at Public Elementary Schools in Surabaya with a total of 22 students. The object of this research is student learning outcomes based on working on evaluation test. This research was conducted from 7 June 2024 to 14 June 2024. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, questionnaires and written tests. The result of the research shows that student learning outcomes Before implementing the crossword puzzle learning media, there were still 13.63% of students who fell into the good and very good categories. This figure is below the success indicator, namely 75%. After implementing the crossword puzzle learning media, the frequency of students who fell into the good and very good categories became 81.82% in the last cycle, which means there was a significant increase, namely 68.19% and this figure is above the research success indicator.   Keyword: mathematic, learning media, crossword puzzle

Abstract

This research was conducted to improve the mathematical literacy of fourth grade students. The purpose of this development research is to describe the steps of media development, media validity, practicality, and media effectiveness. The development method used is the ADDIE development model. The results showed that the media that had been developed were effective for improving students' mathematical literacy. This is evidenced from the results of material validation obtained a score of 69.33% in the category quite feasible and the results of media validation obtained a score of 97.33% in the category very feasible. Practicality results seen from the response of students get a score of 82% with a good category and a teacher response of 94% with a good category. Effectiveness results through the t test obtained a sig value. 0.000 and the average pretest result of 46.5 and the average posttest result of 75. The results of the Ngain calculation to see the effectiveness of the media obtained a value of 25.00 in the very high category. Thus, the results of the products that have been developed in the form of fractions worth domino cards can be categorized as good and suitable for use in the learning process.
