Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

MP3 audio files are a common format for storing and transmitting audio data, but file size can impact delivery time and memory capacity requirements. Compressing MP3 files is crucial for efficient transfer and storage space savings. Two popular lossless compression algorithms, namely arithmetic coding and Lempel-Ziv-Welch (LZW), play a significant role in determining how well MP3 audio files can be compressed without significant loss of quality. A comparative analysis between these two algorithms using criteria such as Compression Ratio, Ratio Compression, Redundancy, and Space Saving with the help of exponential methods indicates that arithmetic coding and LZW have total values of 10.1127 and 9.6047, respectively. This suggests that while arithmetic coding may be more efficient in terms of compression, LZW requires less effort. This comparison provides insights into the advantages and disadvantages of each algorithm, aiding in the selection of the most effective compression method for MP3 audio files.

Different learning strategies are needed to increase students' motivation in learning mathematics. It is also important to integrate local culture into the educational process, so that students can understand the relationship between mathematical concepts and their environment. This research aims to improve student learning outcomes by implementing the STAD type cooperative learning model and the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach. The learning media used are Powerpoint and the Wordwall application as teaching materials for whole number counting operations in class VI at SD Labschool Unesa 2. This research uses Kurt Lewin's paradigm in the form of classroom action research (PTK). The research was carried out in two cycles, where each cycle consisted of four stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. Based on research data from cycle I, there was an increase in learning outcomes by 60.87% and a decrease in the number of incomplete students by 9 people. Learning outcomes increased to 86.96% in cycle II, there were 3 students who were declared incomplete. The application of the CRT approach and STAD model supported by PowerPoint media and the Wordwall application succeeded in improving student learning outcomes in whole number counting operations material in class VI at SD Labschool Unesa 2.

Selecting the best teacher is crucial in the field of education as it motivates educators who have taught students and allows for recognition of their efforts. However, currently, the data collection process is poorly organized, leading to suboptimal outcomes in identifying the best teachers. Therefore, this study uses a decision support system applying the Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) to calculate the competency scores for each teacher and rank them accordingly. MAUT, which stands for Multi-Attribute Utility Theory, is used for decision-making by identifying relevant attributes and assigning weights to each attribute based on its importance. The implementation of a decision support system using MAUT is expected to assist in accurately and effectively determining the best teacher at SDN 101883 Pasar XIII. This research aids SDN 101883 Pasar XIII in making structured, accurate decisions regarding the selection of the best teacher. The study results indicate that Salome Pandiangan, S.Pd, with a score of 0.818975, is identified as the best teacher at SDN 101883 Pasar XIII.

This research aims to improve the critical thinking skills of fourth grade elementary school students. The subjects in this research were 21 grade IV students at SD Negeri 03 Klepu, Pringapus District. Data collection was carried out by interviews, observation, formulating learning objectives, developing products, product trials, pretest and posttest as well as evaluation and revision. This research method uses quantitative descriptive. The research results show that SIGAYA media can improve the critical thinking skills of fourth grade elementary school students. SIGAYA Media obtained a score of 100% in material expert validation and 100% in media expert validation. Both validation results are included in the "Very valid" category. The average score for critical thinking skills obtained was the lowest score of 10 and the highest score of 90 with an average of 63. After using SIGAYA media the lowest score was 20 and the highest score was 100 with an average of 68.5. So the data can be concluded that the average score of students' pretest and posttest results increased by 5.24. SIGAYA media was declared effective because the posttest results increased from the pretest. has 0.041 which is greater than 0.05, so it is said that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Ha is accepted, which means that in the pretest and posttest there are significant changes to improve the critical thinking skills of grade 4 elementary school. This study aims to optimise mathematics learning outcomes by implementing the problem-based learning (PBL) model combined with the culturally responsive teaching (CRT) approach in the context of Madiun's culinary specialities in statistics material. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII A of SMPN 14 Madiun. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and observations. The results of the study indicate that the application of PBL with the CRT approach in the context of Madiun's culinary specialities can improve students' understanding and skills in statistical material. In addition, students become more motivated and active in the learning process because the material taught is relevant to their local culture. This increase can be seen from the average value of students in each cycle and the positive response from students to learning. Thus, the application of PBL with the CRT approach based on Madiun's culinary specialities has proven effective in optimising student learning outcomes in statistical material. Therefore, the researcher recommends that teachers consider using a similar approach when teaching other materials to improve student learning outcomes.

The research was motivated by students' low interest in learning in Social Sciences (IPS) learning which tends to be boring. This research aims to measure the effectiveness of game-based learning in increasing students' interest in learning in class VIII-D in social studies subjects at SMP Negeri 56 Surabaya. This research uses a pre-experimental design with an instrument in the form of a learning interest observation sheet. The research results showed that there was a significant increase in all aspects of students' learning interest after implementing game-based learning, namely in the aspects of feelings of pleasure, interest, attention and involvement. These findings indicate that game-based learning can be an attractive alternative for increasing students' learning motivation in social studies subjects which tend to be considered less interesting.

This research aims to understand the discovery learning model on the ability to tell stories to improve the social skills of junior high school students. The method used is classroom research (CAR), in this research carried out in two cycles with each cycle having four stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were students at junior high school level. Then descriptive data analysis was carried out. The results of the research show an increase in cycle I and cycle II. It can be observed that there is a quite significant increase. In cycle I the average score of all class IX students at SMPN 33 Surabaya was 62.22. So, it can be seen that there is an increase in the average score of class IX students at SMPN 33 Surabaya from cycle I to cycle II, amounting to 11.78%. Social skills also get a boost. This is demonstrated by the results of the pretest and posttest which have been carried out with three indicators, namely self-management skills, academic abilities and compliance skills.

This study aims to increase the participation in mathematics learning of Grade VII-H students at SMP Negeri 2 Taman in the 2023/2024 school year by implementing process-differentiated learning based on visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which consists of two cycles, which include planning, action, observation, and reflection. The students in Grades VII-H were divided into homogeneous groups based on their learning styles, but heterogeneous based on their initial abilities, with each group consisting of 3 students. The results of the first cycle showed an increase in students’ participation in mathematics from the previous learning, with the participation score percentage reaching 70.19%, and increased by 12.59% to 82.78% in the second cycle. This increase is included in the high criteria, which are to be very high, with students becoming more actively engaged in learning, especially in group discussions and presentations. This research showed that the implementation of differentiated learning based on learning styles is effective in increasing the participation in mathematics learning of Grade VII-H students at SMP Negeri 2 Taman in the 2023/2024 school year.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to understand the application of the PjBL model in IPAS learning in order to cultivate the character of curiosity and the implications of the use of the pjBL in cultivating the character curiosity of students. The research uses a qualitative approach to the type of phenomenological research. Study results showed that teachers' efforts to cultivate the character of curiosity through PjBL in the learning of IPAS on animal living matter can cultivate a critical, creative, and innovative mental attitude.PjBL models have a positive implication in cultivating curiosity in the students.Learning IPAS through the model, students are encouraged to participate actively in the process of learning, explore topics in depth, and develop critical questions. This project-focused learning process drives students to find answers and creative solutions, which in the end reinforces students' curiosity. Keywords: Characters Want to Know, PjBL, IPAS ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan upaya guru menumbuhkan karakter rasa ingin tahu dengan menggunakan model PjBL dalam pembelajaran IPAS. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami penerapan model PjBL dalam pembelajaran IPAS dalam rangkan menumbuhkan karakter rasa ingin tahu dan implikasi penerapan PjBL dalam menumbuhkan karakter rasa ingin tahu siswa. Penelitian meggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian fenomenologi. Subjek peneltiian berjumlah satu orang guru kelas III. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa upaya guru menumbuhkan karakter rasa ingin tahu melalui PjBL dalam pembelajaran IPAS pada materi daur hidup hewan dapat menumbuhkan sikap mental yang kritis, kreatif, dan inovatif. Model PjBL berimplikasi positif dalam menumbuhkan karakter rasa ingin tahu pada siswa. Pembelajaran IPAS melalui model PjBL tersebut, siswa didorong untuk berpartisipasi aktif dalam proses belajar, mengeksplorasi topik secara mendalam, dan mengembangkan pertanyaan-pertanyaan kritis. Proses pembelajaran yang berfokus pada proyek ini memicu siswa untuk mencari jawaban dan solusi kreatif, yang pada akhrinya memperkuat rasa ingin tahu siswa. This research aims to improve the communication skills of class IV students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects using the educational game "Lifecycle Challenge". The Classroom Action Research (PTK) method was carried out in two cycles, with the participation of 28 students. Data was collected using observation sheets. The research results showed a significant increase from the pre-cycle with students' initial completeness of only 39.29% increasing to 78.57% completeness in cycle 1, and 89.29% in cycle 2. This increase confirms the effectiveness of the "Lifecycle Challenge" in developing students' communication skills. Research recommends educational games as an alternative strategy in science learning and recommends further exploration in a broader context.
