Abstract

This study aims to analyze women's volleyball passing skills based on the menstrual cycle at the Tunas Muda Muara Bulan volleyball club. This study used a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design on 17 female volleyball athletes selected through total sampling. Data were obtained through a test of underhand passing skills before (pretest) and during menstruation (posttest). The results showed an average pretest score of 40.529 (very good category) and a posttest score of 24.117 (good-very good category). The Paired Sample T-Test produced a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), which means there is a significant difference between the results before and during menstruation. The N-Gain Score value of -0.3094 indicates a decrease in skills in the moderate category. It was concluded that the menstrual cycle affects the underhand passing skills of female volleyball athletes, so coaches need to adjust the training intensity and pay special attention to the condition of athletes during the menstrual period. Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies used by Physical Education (PJOK) teachers in implementing the collaboration dimension of the Graduate Profile, the forms of facilitation and intervention provided during the learning process, as well as the challenges encountered and the solutions applied in elementary schools across Suakamanah Village, Cigalontang District, Tasikmalaya Regency. This research employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method to explore in depth the real experiences of three PJOK teachers as respondents. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation of instructional materials, and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion-drawing techniques. The results indicate that teachers designed collaborative learning through the development of lesson plans that explicitly incorporate indicators of teamwork, the use of Cooperative Learning, Problem-Based Learning, and Project-Based Learning models, the formation of heterogeneous groups, and the modification of games to accommodate limited facilities and space. During implementation, teachers facilitated communication and group interaction, assigned clear roles, and provided interventions for passive or dominant students as well as groups experiencing conflict. The main challenges faced included limited equipment and space, diverse student characteristics, restricted instructional time, and administrative demands; however, teachers were able to address these obstacles through creativity, personal approaches, and effective time management. This study concludes that PJOK learning plays a strategic role in developing students’ collaboration dimension and can be implemented effectively despite various contextual limitations. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Case Method compared with conventional instruction in improving badminton learning outcomes among Physical Education students. Employing an Ex Post Facto design, the research involved two classes selected through cluster random sampling, each consisting of 30 students. Learning outcomes were assessed across cognitive, psychomotor, and tactical domains using written tests, technical performance assessments, and game-play observations with standardized instruments. Data were analyzed using an independent t-test after meeting the assumptions of normality and homogeneity. The results indicate that students taught using the Case Method achieved significantly higher scores than those receiving conventional instruction (t = 13.942; p < 0.001). These findings confirm that the Case Method is more effective in enhancing technical proficiency, tactical understanding, and decision-making skills. Therefore, the Case Method is recommended for integration into badminton instruction to comprehensively improve students’ learning outcomes. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the phenomenon of burnout within a recreational running community in Surabaya. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed involving six participants—one community leader, two coaches, and three members—through in-depth interviews and participatory observations. The findings indicate three key manifestations of burnout that align with commonly recognized dimensions: emotional exhaustion, social withdrawal from community activities, and reduced personal accomplishment. These aspects are interrelated and influence runners’ motivation, training consistency, and social engagement within the community. The study highlights that burnout among recreational runners is a complex psychological phenomenon shaped by training demands, social pressures, and self-perceived performance. The findings offer practical implications for running communities to develop supportive structures and training load management strategies to prevent burnout among non-professional runners. In conclusion, this study successfully describes the burnout phenomenon as stated in the objectives, namely identifying the forms of burnout experiences experienced by recreational runners in their community activities Keywords: burnout, recreational runners, emotional exhaustion, sports community, motivation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of sports app use on how individuals present themselves in the context of Generation Z, who grew up in the digital era and have the potential to express their identity through online platforms. Using quantitative methods, this study involved 136 Generation Z participants aged 15-25 who actively used digital-based sports apps. Data were collected using the Self-Presentation Tactics Scale – Assertive (SPRS; Lee et al., 1999) and the sports app usage scale developed by Baubonytė and Deliautaitė (2021). Data were then analyzed using JASP with validity, reliability, descriptive analysis, classical assumptions, and simple linear regression tests. The study findings showed that sports app use had a significant positive effect on self-presentation (p < 0.001) with a contribution of 62.2%, indicating that the higher the intensity of sports app use, the greater the tendency for individuals to actively present themselves in digital spaces. This research suggests that sports app developers consider users' social and self-identity aspects as part of their strategies to increase digital engagement and participation. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the levels and triggering factors of stress and anxiety among pencak silat athletes during the pre-competition phase of the Pendekar Cup PSPS Bakti Negara XXIII in Denpasar City in 2025. The research method employed is a quantitative descriptive approach involving 40 athletes selected through purposive sampling based on predetermined criteria. The instruments used in this study were the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) to measure stress levels and the Sport Anxiety Scale-2 (SAS-2) to assess anxiety. The results indicate that most athletes fall into the moderate category for both stress and anxiety. This finding shows that the pre-competition phase is a period highly susceptible to psychological pressure, including mental, physical, and social aspects, which may affect athletes’ performance. In conclusion, pencak silat athletes in the pre-competition phase tend to experience moderate levels of stress and anxiety; therefore, systematic mental management is necessary to maintain psychological stability and optimize performance during competition.
