Abstract

Islamic education management must always be responsive to innovations that align with the developments of the times so that it can continue to provide greater benefits. The Islamic education system is based on the Qur'an and Hadith as the primary sources, which not only impart knowledge but also guide humanity toward a better life, both in this world and in the hereafter. Therefore, every educational institution needs to implement the principles of Islamic education management in its operations. The fundamental principles of Islamic education that must be considered to achieve the desired goals include the implications and characteristics of the community, integration, balance, universality, and dynamism. This study was conducted to explore in depth how the principles of Islamic education management can shape a noble character, with a special focus on Surah Al-Ahzab 33:70, through both textual and contextual analysis. This issue is addressed through library research, using primary data sources from the Qur'an, particularly Surah Al-Ahzab 33:70. Secondary data were taken from tafsir (interpretation) books, while other supporting sources were books and writings relevant to the research topic. The research findings show that the principles of Islamic education management discussed in this study have a significant impact on the formation of noble character, which includes aspects of human behavior and character towards God, oneself, others, and the environment. From the perspective of Surah Al-Ahzab 33:70, these principles play an important role in a person's life. The honesty internalized in Islamic education management encourages all actions toward positive outcomes, contributes to progress, and provides significant contributions to various existing plans.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is a social change where people are forced to adapt, one of which is in the payment system. Bank Indonesia has established one of the digital payment systems, namely QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesia Standard), to facilitate transaction payments easily, quickly, and securely. This study aims to measure the extent of the use of QRIS payments in the community. This research method uses qualitative research with data collection through a literature review associated with Talcott Parsons' theory. The results of this study show that the role of using the QRIS payment system among the public has shortcomings in terms of network connection and age factors. Among MSMEs, the QRIS payment system continues to increase due to the ease of transacting using one QR code. Meanwhile, in the current generation (generation Y, Z, and Alpha), the QRIS payment system is not only to support needs but has become a daily lifestyle. The QRIS payment system aligns with Talcott Parsons' theory of AGIL (adaptation, goal attainment, integration, and latency).

Abstract

This study explores Farid Esack's perspective on religious pluralism through the lens of Wilhelm Dilthey's hermeneutic theory, which emphasizes lived experience (Erlebnis), expression (Ausdruck), and understanding (Verstehen). Esack, a South African Muslim scholar and activist, developed his pluralistic thought in response to experiences of systemic injustice under apartheid and exposure to interfaith dynamics during his education in Pakistan. This research aims to analyze how Esack's personal experiences shaped his theological approach to pluralism and to articulate how his liberative hermeneutics of the Qur'an fosters interfaith solidarity and justice. Employing a qualitative, hermeneutic approach, the study interprets Esack's key writings in conjunction with his biographical context. The findings reveal that Esack's conception of pluralism transcends tolerance, emphasizing active recognition and cooperation across religious boundaries as a moral imperative rooted in Islamic teachings. His praxis-based hermeneutics advocate for justice, dignity, and liberation, particularly for the oppressed, offering a transformative model of interfaith engagement. This study contributes to contemporary Islamic discourse on pluralism, justice, and coexistence.

Abstract

This article contains research on the role of the anthropology of religion approach in the study of living hadith which is useful as a lens in viewing the reception and practice of society that departs from the sacred texts in Islam, especially the hadith. This study aims to explain the substance of religious anthropology and its role as an approach in studying the reception aspect of society, especially the phenomenon of the practice of social symptoms that originate from the hadith. This research is multidisciplinary in nature that integrates two scientific objects, namely anthropology and hadith studies, the meeting point between the two is the social aspect that cannot be separated from the two sciences, this research is based on literature studies by collecting primary and secondary data sources and collecting information from the results of observations of several community practices as research objects. The results of the study explain that through the anthropology of religion approach, the background of the practices and phenomena of a community group can be objectively known which departs from the doctrine of sacred texts, especially the hadith, then creates a construction of practices that develop from generation to generation and continue to run even though the community does not know that what is practiced is actually sourced from the sacred text.

Abstract

This study examines the short- and long-term impacts of inflation, economic growth, and zakat on unemployment in Indonesia, utilizing quarterly time-series data from 2011Q1 to 2022Q4. The unemployment rate serves as the dependent variable, while the independent variables comprise inflation, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and total zakat distribution. The analysis employs the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to capture both the short-run dynamics and long-run equilibrium relationships among the variables. The empirical results reveal that, in the short run, inflation exerts no significant effect on unemployment, whereas zakat has a positive and significant influence, and economic growth demonstrates a negative and significant impact. In the long run, however, both inflation and economic growth have a positive and significant effect on unemployment, while zakat exhibits a negative and significant effect. These findings underscore the importance of maintaining price stability, enhancing productivity-oriented allocation of zakat, and fostering inclusive and high-quality economic growth to effectively reduce unemployment in Indonesia.

Abstract

The iddah period constitutes a pivotal phase in Islamic family law, as delineated by the Quran and hadith. In Indonesia, processes of modernization and social change have significantly transformed both the understanding and implementation of the iddah period following divorce. The Circular Letter of the Director General of Islamic Community Guidance Number P-005/DJ.III/Hk.00.7/10/2021 exemplifies governmental efforts to provide contextually relevant guidelines for contemporary challenges. This study identifies changes in the post-divorce iddah period from the perspective of maslahah mursalah, employing qualitative methods and descriptive analysis. Data were collected through interviews and literature review, with primary data sourced from purposively selected interviews with the head of the Religious Affairs Office (KUA) in Banjarbaru City. The findings indicate substantial changes in the implementation of the iddah period, shaped by social, economic, cultural, technological, and gender equality factors. The iddah period is now applied to both women and men. Reforming Islamic family law through maslahah mursalah enables greater flexibility and justice, aligning legal practice with the realities of modern society to uphold honor (ḥifẓ al-‘ird), lineage (ḥifẓ al-nasl), and social order (ḥifẓ al-niẓām al-ijtimā‘ī)

Abstract

This article analyzes child marriage among the Dayak Bakumpai through hatamput marriage as a site of conflict between legal regimes. The central issue is the clash between Law No. 16 of 2019, which sets a minimum marriage age of 19, customary law that defines adulthood through social roles, religious law that validates marriage contracts without age limits, and international child-protection principles. This tension shows the state’s inability to monopolize definitions of valid marriage in customary settings. Using empirical (socio-legal) methods, the study examines not only written rules but also how the Dayak Bakumpai understand and practice law. Drawing on strong legal pluralism and living law theory (Ehrlich, Griffiths), it frames the Dayak Bakumpai as a legal order that produces its own norms. Marriage is thus negotiated through customary authority, religious legitimacy, and minimal administrative engagement with the state. The findings show: (1) customary law functions as a more authoritative source of substantive rules than state law; (2) kawin hatamput reflects law in action that affirms customary validity despite statutory prohibitions; (3) Law No. 16 of 2019 is weakly implemented because it is not integrated with customary institutions; (4) communities adopt manipulative compliance strategies, including delayed registration and age dispensations; and (5) these dynamics confirm strong legal pluralism, in which customary law operates not as a regulated object but as an alternative legal authority governing private life. Addressing child marriage therefore requires integrating state, customary, and religious authorities rather than relying on purely legalistic approaches
