Abstract

This research investigated the influence of principals' transformational leadership and achievement motivation on teachers' innovative behavior, mediated by teacher job satisfaction, in public junior high schools in Pesisir Selatan Regency. This research used a quantitative, causal-associative approach to examine the direct and indirect effects of principals' transformational leadership and achievement motivation on innovative behavior via teacher job satisfaction. This research involved 384 civil servant teachers from a population of 2,118. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling). The results indicated that transformational leadership had a positive and significant effect on teachers' innovative behavior, with a coefficient of 0.407 (p < 0.05). However, achievement motivation had a negative but significant effect on innovative behavior (coefficient: -0.174, p < 0.05). Teacher job satisfaction was found to have a strong positive effect on innovative behavior (coefficient: 0.707, p < 0.05).

Abstract

This study examines the role of politeness in language as a reflection of the speaker’s ethics and character, both in everyday communication and film dialogues. The film Aisyah Biarkan Kami Bersaudara was selected due to its depiction of a Muslim teacher in a predominantly non-Muslim area, delivering messages of tolerance, unity, and humanity. The research aims to identify the types of speech acts, describe politeness strategies, and analyze violations of politeness in the film’s dialogue. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, data were collected through transcription and analyzed using Searle's speech act theory and Leech's politeness principles. The study found 452 speech acts, with directive acts being the most prevalent. Politeness was observed in 47 instances, with the sympathy maxim being dominant, while 20 violations were identified, mainly involving the maxim of agreement. The findings contribute to the development of pragmatic studies and cross-cultural communication.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of the discovery learning model on students’ mathematical reasoning ability. The research employed a quasi-experimental design involving two eleventh-grade classes: an experimental group taught using discovery learning and a control group taught using conventional instruction. Data were collected through a mathematical reasoning test administered before and after the treatment. The results indicate that students in the experimental group demonstrated significantly greater improvements in mathematical reasoning than those in the control group. Statistical analysis showed that discovery learning had a positive, meaningful impact on students’ ability to analyze problems, construct logical arguments, and draw conclusions. These findings suggest that discovery learning provides a more effective learning environment for developing higher-order thinking skills in mathematics. Therefore, the model is recommended as an alternative instructional strategy to enhance students’ mathematical reasoning in secondary education.

Abstract

This study examined the influence of entrepreneurship education, financial literacy, family environment, and attitudes towards finance on entrepreneurial interest among students of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Klabat. It involved 210 students (144 from the Management Study Program and 66 from the Accounting Study Program) who completed an Entrepreneurship course.  A 5-point Likert-scale questionnaire was used to measure four independent variables and one dependent variable, yielding a Cronbach's alpha of 0.868.  Descriptive statistics indicated high scores on the variables studied, and no significant differences in entrepreneurial interest between study programs and genders. Entrepreneurial interest is positively and significantly related to entrepreneurship education, financial literacy, family environment, and attitudes towards finance. Campus entrepreneurial knowledge and family support contribute to increased interest in entrepreneurship. Regression analysis identified entrepreneurial education, family environment, and attitudes towards finance as significant predictors, though their contributions were moderate, suggesting a need for further research on other factors.

Abstract

This study investigated the strategic role of scouting extracurricular activities in strengthening the social care character of elementary students at SD Negeri Karanglo, Banyumas. Addressing challenges in character education, this research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that structured scouting activities such as camping, community service, and collective tasks function as a "moral laboratory" where students engage in real-life value internalization. The process involves habituation, reflection, and guided social action. Teachers act as moral models, facilitators, and emotional guides throughout the process. These efforts align with the Pancasila student profile. They are supported by Vygotsky's social constructivism and Kohlberg's theory of moral development. The study concludes that scouting is a practical and contextual strategy for instilling social care values and recommends further improving teacher training and facilities to enhance the program's impact in elementary education.

Abstract

Private higher education institutions face increasing challenges in maintaining student loyalty, which is essential for sustainability and competitiveness. At Universitas Muhammadiyah Bandung, a private Islamic university, issues such as declining re-enrollment and student dropout remain prevalent. This research aimed to examine the effect of service quality and perceived value on student loyalty. A quantitative approach was employed using multiple linear regression, with data collected from 325 students selected through proportional random sampling. The findings revealed that both service quality and perceived value significantly influence student loyalty. Service quality emerged as the dominant predictor (β = 0.500), followed by perceived value (β = 0.392). The model explained 36.2% of the variance in student loyalty (R² = 0.362). These results indicate that improving service quality and enhancing perceived value are key strategies for fostering student loyalty in Islamic higher education institutions.

Abstract

This research explored the use of digital media in Indonesian language learning at the Universitas Pejuang Republik Indonesia (UPRI), focusing on both the opportunities and challenges. It used descriptive qualitative methods, which involved in-depth interviews with lecturers and students, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that digital media, including e-learning platforms, interactive videos, and language learning apps, have enhanced access to materials, increased learning flexibility, and created more engaging experiences. However, the research identified challenges, including inadequate technological infrastructure, limited digital literacy, and pedagogical hurdles to maintaining humanistic interactions. Furthermore, online learning tends to reduce student focus and active participation, requiring strategies like microlearning, gamification, and collaboration to boost motivation. The research emphasizes the need for a blended learning model that combines digital tools and face-to-face interactions, along with targeted training for both lecturers and students to optimize the use of digital media. This research provides valuable insights into developing digital language-learning strategies in higher education.

Abstract

This study explores a character-based management model in three pesantren in Merangin Regency, Indonesia, aimed at strengthening students’ nationalism and patriotism. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were gathered through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving kyai, teachers, and administrators. The findings reveal that although each pesantren applies distinct managerial styles, all embed national values through integrated planning, curriculum design, extracurricular programs, and moral leadership. The kyai plays a central role in shaping institutional culture and modeling civic values. Effective character formation emerges from a combination of traditional Islamic practices and responsive educational management. The study formulates a contextualized model that merges cultural authenticity with managerial structure, offering a practical framework for pesantren and similar institutions to cultivate national identity through education.
