PiJIES: PEDAGOGIK Journal of Islamic Elementary School is a peer-reviewed journal which is published by Prodi Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah IAIN Palopo. This Journal publishes manuscripts on research in Islamic education and elementary school. PiJIES features research novelties and significance for science advancement in any new development and advancement in the field of education. The scope of our journal includes child development, cognitive psychology, social science, math and natural education to school learning and teaching. This Journal publishes current original research studies that contain data about school and classroom processes in elementary or middle schools while occasionally publishing integrative research reviews and in-depth conceptual analyses of schooling.

Abstract

This research aims to develop e-module based on the Socratic method. This research is research and development. This research uses the ADDIE development model, including analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. This research only reached the implementation stage. The research was carried out inMIS AL Hidayah Sidomulyo.The research subjects were 20 class V students, consisting of 9 male students and 11 female students. The research object is an e-module based on the Socratic method to improve student learning outcomes. Data collection techniques are observation, tests and questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used are: (a) e-module analysis based on the Socratic method; (b) the effectiveness of e-modules based on the Socratic method. Based on validation results by media experts with a percentage of 94.85%, it is categorized as very feasible. The results of validation by material with a percentage of 94.65% are categorized as very feasible. Meanwhile, validation results by language with a percentage of 89.75% are categorized as very feasible. The results of the pretest trial were with a percentage of 45% with 3 students who completed it and 17 students who did not complete it. Meanwhile, the posttest trial had a percentage of 83.5% with 19 students who completed and 1 student who did not complete.It can be concluded that the e-module based on the Socratic method is feasible and effective to use.

Abstract

This research aims to improve basic locomotor movement skills in grade 5 elementary school students through active learning interventions based on traditional games. In this research, researchers used a quasi-experimental research design with stratified random sampling. Two groups of students were selected, where one group was given active learning intervention, while the other group was a control group that received conventional learning. The research instruments used included basic movement skills tests, student response questionnaires, participant observation, and field notes. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistical methods and the T test to compare the differences between the two groups before and after the learning intervention. The statistical calculation method used was the T test, which was used to compare the differences between the experimental group and the control group in terms of improvement in basic locomotor movement skills after the intervention. By using the T test, researchers can evaluate whether there are significant differences between the two groups and whether traditional game-based active learning interventions are effective in improving the basic movement skills of grade 5 elementary school students. The research results show that traditional game-based active learning interventions have a significant positive impact in improving basic locomotor movement skills in grade 5 students. This shows the important potential of interactive and fun learning methods in improving the quality of learning and the development of students' motor skills. In conclusion, active learning interventions based on traditional games can be effective in improving basic locomotor movement skills in grade 5 elementary school students. This research provides important implications for the development of a more inclusive and student-centered curriculum at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This research aims to: 1) describe the vocabulary mastery of class IV students at SDS IT Nurul Islam Singkawang; 2) describe the skills in writing reports from interviews of class IV students at SDS IT Nurul Islam Singkawang; 3) find out how big the relationship is between vocabulary mastery and the skill of writing reports from interviewers of class IV students at SDS IT Nurul Islam Singkawang. The research used is correlational research with quantitative methods. The population in this study were fourth grade students at SDS IT Nurul Islam Singkawang. The research sample was taken purposively (purposefully) and was selected using 2 steps. (1) based on the result of interviews with teachers (2) based on suggestions from teachers. The prerequisite test carried out is a normality test using the Chi-square formula and a linearity test is carried out see whether the data is linear or not. Data were analyzed univariately with a significance level of 5% (0,05) for testing the first hypothesis using the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique. The results og the research show that: 1) From the results of calculating the overall average score for students’ vocabulary mastery of 71%, it can be concluded that the vocabulary mastery of class IV students at SDS IT Nurul Islam Singkawang is quite good. 2) From the results of calculating the skill scores for writing reports from student interviews, the average score obtained was 75%. It can be concluded that the skills for writing reports from interviews for class IV students at SDS IT Nurul Islam Singkawang are quite good. 3) There is a significant relationship between vocabulary mastery and student interview report writing skills with a correlation value of 0,504 and a coefficient of determination of 25,40%.

Abstract

Pembentukan karakter yang sesuai dengan identitas bangsa merupakan hal penting, terutama di tingkat Sekolah Dasar. Karakter yang diharapkan telah dijelaskan dalam profil pelajar Pancasila yang terdapat dalam kurikulum merdeka. Permainan tradisional Jamuran, sebagai bagian dari warisan budaya yang edukatif, memiliki potensi untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai karakter yang terkandung di dalamnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan hasil analisis karakter profil pelajar Pancasila yang terdapat dalam permainan tradisional Jamuran di Sekolah Dasar. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka kualitatif dengan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil analisis mendalam menunjukkan bahwa permainan tradisional Jamuran mencerminkan enam karakter yang ada dalam profil pelajar Pancasila, yaitu keimanan dan ketakwaan kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa melalui kepedulian terhadap lingkungan dan penghargaan terhadap keberagaman ciptaan Tuhan, kemandirian melalui kemampuan menentukan nama jamur sendiri, kerja sama melalui kekompakan dan kebersamaan dalam bermain, keberagaman global melalui upaya melestarikan kearifan lokal, berpikir kritis melalui pemikiran yang sulit dalam menentukan nama jamur, dan kreativitas melalui kebebasan berimajinasi dalam memberi nama jamur yang unik.

Abstract

The study looked at how using brain-based learning (BBL) and problem-based learning (PBL) together could help 7th-grade students improve their critical and creative thinking in math at SD Negeri 02 Nabire. They wanted to see if these methods could fill gaps in traditional teaching by making learning more inclusive. They used a type of research design that compares two groups, one getting the new teaching methods and the other not, to see if there's a difference. They tested 58 students before and after the new methods using various statistical tools and found that both BBL and PBL made a big difference in how well students could think critically and creatively. This study adds to what we know about how BBL and PBL can make math learning better. It shows that when teaching matches how students learn best, they do better in math and are more ready for future challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan keterampilan sosial siswa saat pembelajaran IPS di SDN 07 Kurnia melalui permainan congklak, serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif yang umum digunakan dalam bidang antropologi budaya. Subjek utama adalah siswa kelas V di SDN 07 Kurnia, dengan total 18 siswa (12 laki-laki dan 6 perempuan), dan subjek pendukung adalah guru wali kelas V. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan sosial siswa saat bermain congklak menunjukkan kualitas yang baik, dengan tingkat persentase mencapai 81% dan 85%. Terdapat beberapa siswa yang menampilkan keterampilan sosial yang layak, meskipun mayoritas hanya memenuhi beberapa aspek tertentu. Mayoritas siswa menunjukkan memiliki keterampilan sosial yang baik, dengan sebagian kecil menunjukkan kategori yang cukup. Faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan sosial siswa termasuk faktor internal seperti tingkat keberanian, kemampuan dalam bergaul, dan kontrol emosi, serta faktor eksternal seperti kondisi keluarga dan interaksi dengan teman sebaya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dampak model VCT pada peningkatan nilai toleransi dan nilai cinta damai dalam pembelajaran Pkn di kelas V SDN 71 Singkawang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen, dilaksanakan di SDN 71 Singkawang dengan sampel siswa kelas VA dan VB. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penggunaan angket nilai toleransi dan cinta damai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model VCT secara signifikan meningkatkan nilai toleransi dengan Thitung sebesar 2.165 lebih besar dari Ttabel dengan nilai 2.045 dan cinta damai dengan Thitung sebesar 5.734, lebih besar dari Ttabel dengan nilai 2.045 pada siswa kelas lima. Selain itu, analisis effect size menunjukkan peningkatan yang sedang pada nilai toleransi (0.73) dan peningkatan yang tinggi pada nilai cinta damai (1.94) setelah penerapan model VCT.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan mendeskripsikan kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas V SD dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika pada materi perkalian dan pembagian pecahan, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesalahan tersebut, berlandaskan pada teori Newman. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan subjek penelitian terdiri dari 22 siswa kelas V SDN 82 Singkawang. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes soal cerita matematika dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik yang diusulkan oleh Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan siswa dapat dikategorikan dalam empat indikator: pemahaman (17 siswa kesulitan menterjemahkan bahasa soal ke dalam kalimat matematika), transformasi (15 siswa tidak dapat menentukan operasi hitung yang tepat), keterampilan proses (18 siswa gagal menjalankan operasi hitung dengan benar), dan penulisan jawaban akhir (16 siswa tidak menuliskan kesimpulan akhir dengan teliti). Penyebab kesalahan ini terbagi menjadi faktor internal dan eksternal. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi pengembangan strategi pembelajaran matematika yang lebih efektif di sekolah dasar, khususnya dalam menangani kesalahan siswa dan memperbaiki pemahaman mereka tentang materi perkalian dan pembagian pecahan.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to reveal the conditions of objectives and needs for curriculum development in the PGMI FTIK IAIN Palopo study program, develop a curriculum that is integrated with Islamic scientific technology and local wisdom, and provide the feasibility of the resulting curriculum model. This type of research is curriculum research and development with a mixed-methods approach. This research was carried out at PGMI FTIK IAIN Palopo. The subjects in this research are students, lecturers and the user community. The development process is carried out in 3 stages, namely (1) Preliminary study and Assessing Needs; (2) Reconstruction Phase; and (3) Curriculum implementation and monitoring stage. The results of the needs analysis show that integrating Islamic scientific technology and local wisdom is very necessary. The curriculum was developed by integrating Islamic scientific technology and local wisdom. The results of expert research show that it is valid and the results of testing the developed curriculum are also effective in use. Thus, an integrated Islamic scientific curriculum and local wisdom can be applied, especially in the PGMI FTIK IAIN Palopo.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas lima madrasah ibtidaiyah antara kelas yang menerapkan metode Preview Question Read reflect Recite Review (PQ4R) dan kelas yang menggunakan metode ekspositori konvensional, mengukur sejauh mana pengaruh metode PQ4R terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa, serta menjelaskan peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa setelah penerapan metode PQ4R. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu yang dilaksanakan di madrasah ibtidaiyah Unggulan Ushuluddin Singkawang dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas lima sebanyak 127 siswa. Sampel terdiri atas 30 siswa kelas lima A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 35 siswa kelas lima B sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar soal keterampilan membaca pemahaman, sedangkan teknik analisis data meliputi uji-t, effect size, dan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam keterampilan membaca pemahaman antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol dengan nilai t-hitung 3,6856 > t-tabel 1,9983. Pengaruh metode PQ4R terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman sangat tinggi dengan nilai effect size 0,99, yang terlihat dari rata-rata nilai siswa di kelas eksperimen sebesar 74,53 dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol sebesar 61,37. Perbedaan perlakuan ini menjadi faktor utama yang memengaruhi hasil pada kedua kelas. Selain itu, keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa setelah penerapan metode PQ4R mengalami peningkatan dengan indeks N-Gain sebesar 0,48, yang berada dalam kategori sedang (0,3 < N-Gain < 0,7). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode PQ4R berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas lima madrasah ibtidaiyah.
