Abstract

This study is a quantitative approach. The variables of this study consisted of the dependent variable and the independent variable. This study aims to determine the magnitude of the relationship between the dependent variable and the independent variable. This study applied correlational research. The population of this study consisted of all students of SMA Negeri 16 Medan, 900 students, in 2020. The sample of this study was set to be 100 students, and the sampling was done by using of Slovin technique. The techniques of data collection in this study were a Likert scale questionnaire and pre-test and post-test. The research instruments were arranged according to variable indicators based on the direction and guidance of the Thesis advisor, then tested on students of Medan 16 High School. All data collection instruments for the first independent variable consist of 40 items from the second independent variable, consisting of 40 items. The requirement test for the first independent variable data and the second independent variable used data normality test, comparable data, and linearity. Hypothesis testing uses the t-test to look for correlations on each variable and a partial correlation test with the product-moment formula or SPSS version 20. The results of the research hypothesis state that there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional quotient and learning interest with learning achievement in Islamic Religious Education subjects, with proven that r arithmetic> rtable and also t arithmetic> ttable that can be accepted with a decision-making level of 0.05.

Abstract

This study purpose of describing the importance of the principal's ability to understand the values develop in the life of the community around the school and be aware of the dynamics of moral development of society in general in order to achieve Indonesia's 2030 vision. This study uses a literature study method and through observation of the lives of people around schools at Banten Province, Indonesia. Findings this study is the majority of principals did not understand optimally about the values of life that grow and develop in the community around the school they managed and did not realize the dynamics of the development of moral society in general. Research Implications is all principals in Indonesia should be more severe in understanding the values of life that develop in the community around the school and be more aware of the dynamics of community moral development in general, which has an impact on the sustainability of education programs in schools that he led. Practical Implications is If the principal does not do these two things (Leadership of Moral and  Value), then Indonesia's 2030 Vision that we aspire to is challenging to

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the principal's competence towards teachers implementing online learning during the 19th period to save the vital role of education itself, especially the opportunity for the principal as a leader in the school environment to give influence to the teacher in the distance learning process (online), as well as providing safety for many people, especially for students to avoid covid19. This study is a study that uses a literature review method that is where the authors make observations and reviews as well as analyzing the results of previous writings that will become a reference in this writing. The results of this study are: 1) the role of the principal is vital in term of the competencies that must be possessed by a leader in the school environment not only during the COVID-19 pandemic but also during ordinary situations; 2) and during such regular activities, the role and Principal competence must be able to provide positive space for teachers to improve competence in term of teaching and learning.

Abstract

The teaching profession has been seen as a highly respected job title in some developed countries for bringing significant impacts on the country’s national growth. It is, therefore, teachers are often illustrated into some animations, videos, or pictures on websites and other internet sources. This research aimed to investigate how teachers’ identity is represented on Instagram. 10 Instagram posts related to this issue with the help of Instagram hashtag about #teacherlife were used as the data to get the finding. This research applied the theory and method of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) with the perspective of multimodal discourse analysis and social semiotics. The data were analyzed using the sign model of Saussure. Initial coding was also used to analyze the data. After that, the data were then thematized to categorize the data analysis results. The findings of this study revealed that teachers’ identity represented on Instagram provides meaningful insights and offers rich perspectives. It was evident that many ideas of teachers’ identity are against the teachers’ expectations.  Four major themes were revealed; they are the teachers’ responsibility, teachers’ commitment, teachers’ authority, and teachers’ needs for recognition. Furthermore, as identity is affected by a significant number of factors, different contexts of teachers may have different identities.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the role of religious education and the use of digital technology in improving the quality of sustainability Madrasa in Indonesia. The research method used is the study of literature. Previous studies only focused on the challenges and role of Islamic education in the digitalization era. The novelty of the research lies in the collaboration of Islamic education theory and new media theory in particular the use of digital technology in improving the quality of Madrasas sustainability in Indonesia. It is essential to know how contemporary Islamic education and digital technology can be developed as crucial factors in Madrasas' sustainability to face challenges in the current digital Era. The results of the study explained that the strengths, as well as the characteristics possessed by Madrasas, are the values of Islamic religiosity that can create a foundation of good character and behavior for the next generation of the nation. To face competition, improve quality, and survive in the world of education, Madrasas must be able to make the best use of digital technology in Madrasah governance, create digital libraries, improve the performance of teachers who are technology literate, and the application of digital technology in learning practices in Madrasa Ibtidaiyah (MI ), Madrasa Tsanawiyah (MTS), and Madrasa Aliyah (MA).

Abstract

The problem of school performance, especially the performance of personnel involved in school organizations (principals, teachers and staff), is rated lowly. Therefore, the ability of people in school organizations is required to ensure that the school's target will be achieved effectively. This study was conducted by using mixed method (embedded qualitative-quantitative type mix): the qualitative method as the primary method and the quantitative method as secondary method that was carried out in one stage of the study (the qualitative-quantitative stage together). Open and closed questionnaires through predetermined respondents, as well as documentation studies were used as data collection tool. Meanwhile, the data was analyzed by using statistical approach (quantitative) and data transformation (qualitative) was obtained from sources or participants determined in the study. The results showed that from the characteristics of (1) collegiality collaboration skills among teachers, (2) understanding cognitive processes in the administration of teaching, (3) mastery of subject knowledge structures, (4) understanding and appreciation of values, beliefs, and (5) teaching standards, convey direct and positive influence on student and teacher performance. Based on these competency characteristics, teacher and student performance can be predicted, whether effective or not

Abstract

The revival of Islamic religion has formed a new atmosphere for the condition or fate of the children of Arabs. Islam forbids the killing of children through the prohibition of Allah, among others, contained in QS. Al-Isra/17: 31. Besides prohibits killing children, featuring the provisions of Islamic law that shows how important attention to and even how to look after children with a loving since before and after birth. The Qur’anic view of children globally formulated in the principle:"The children do not cause problems and suffering of parents and also vice versa" In the Qur’an, Allah says "Do not be a mother suffering difficulties because of his son and father do not have to suffer because of his son, and likewise heir duty.” Qur'an has serious concern about the child. This is evident from the various terms used in the Qur’an to show the meaning of the child as źurriyah, ibn, walad, sabiy, usbah, gulam, thifl, nasl, rabaib, and ad'iya '. As a review of the limitation, this study will analyze the concept of child in the perspective of the Qur'an (interpretation of thematic studies).

Abstract

This study aims to produce an innovative learning model based on Microblogging Edmodo.  This research was conducted through the application of Research and Development (R&D) methods which included several stages of research, it is started from designing SCL learning models based on microblogging edmodo, validation, and trials (small and large scale). The results of the study showed that the innovation of student-centered learning models based on edmodo e-learning microblogging was feasible to be applied in the learning process. It can be seen from the validation reaches 79.16%. The feasibility of the application is also strengthened by the increasing of the average percentage from audience validation. It results of 77.33% in small-scale trials and 91.30% in large-scale trials. This percentage shows that SCL learning models based on e-learning microblogging edmodo can be applied to students

Abstract

This research is aimed to reveal the results of learning activities through classroom action research that have been applied for three cycles which each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. This research applied Guided Question and Answer to increase PAI learning achievement at State Junior High School. Based on all the discussions and analyzes that have been carried out, it can be concluded that there is the improvement in every cycle for the PAI students’ achievement by using guided question and answer. By applying this method, the critical thinking of the students is improved as well. Moreover, learning achievement with the quidded question and answer method has positive impact on improving student learning achievement which is marked by increased student learning completeness in each cycle. In cycle I, the percentage of students learning minimal completeness criteria is 35.56%. In cycle II, minimal completeness criteria is 49.22%. Last, in cycle III, minimal completeness criteria is 85.20%. Thus, the application of the guided question and answer method of learning has a positive effect.

Abstract

This study investigates (1) The influence of Individual Behavior TowardTeacher Performance in SMA 3 Medan; (2) The Influence of Group Behavior on Teacher Performance in SMA 3 Medan; (3) The Influence of team work on Teacher Performance in SMA 3 Medan; (4) the influence among Individual, Group and Team Work behavior toward Teacher Performance in SMA Negeri 3 Medan. The results of the study shows that (1) There is a positive and significant influence between X1 to Y 0.9%. It meant that if individual teacher's behavior is getting better in teaching, it will be followed by the increasing of teacher performance in doing their main tasks; (2) There is a positive and significant effect between X2 and Y 7.1%. It is meant that if the behavior of a teacher group in SMA Negeri 3 Medan gives a good example for students, teachers, and the school environment, it will be followed by the increasing of teacher performance in teaching learning process (3) there is a negative effect between X3 to Y -0.9%. It can be said that if the work team is good and solid it will not affect the improvement of teacher performance; (4) there is a positive and significant influence between X1, X2, and X3 together with Y, the correlation coefficient value is 0.303, R Square 0.092 and Adjusted R Square 0.057. It shows that the influence of X1, X2, and X3 to Y is 5.7% and the remaining 94.3% is influenced by other factors from variables not included in this study.
