Abstract

Abstract

The objective of this study was to construct a measurement tool for evaluating self-directed professional learning (SDPL) among teachers in Vocational High Schools within the framework of human capital. The research was carried out using a sample size of 307 teachers who were instructing business management  productive subjects at several vocational high schools located in the province of East Java, Indonesia. The novelty of this research is the development and validation of an instrument called the SPDL instrument to assess the SDPL abilities of vocational teachers. In addition, in order to assess the reliability and validity of a construct measured using a reflective scale, it is necessary to examine the Cronbach Alpha coefficient and the Average Variance Extracted (AVE). All indicators ideally above a threshold of 0.8. Based on the available evidence, it can be inferred that the aforementioned 34 items possess the necessary qualities of validity and reliability, rendering them suitable for utilization as an SDPL scale.

Abstract

This research empirically investigates the relationship between the entrepreneurial learning environment and green entrepreneurial intentions among undergraduate students in Indonesia. Through a cross-sectional survey involving 470 respondents from diverse academic backgrounds, the study reveals significant correlations between the physical and mental dimensions of the entrepreneurial learning environment and students' intentions toward green entrepreneurship. These dimensions encompass infrastructure, resources, and support systems, as well as attitudes, values, and perceptions cultivated within the learning environment. The findings underscore the pivotal role of fostering an educational atmosphere that nurtures innovation, creativity, and sustainability in shaping students' entrepreneurial aspirations, particularly toward green entrepreneurship. Furthermore, actionable recommendations are provided for university management, including integrating individuals with practical entrepreneurial experience into teaching, adapting entrepreneurship curriculum to incorporate principles of environmental sustainability, and empowering students through mentorship and practical experiences. Overall, this study contributes to the literature by highlighting the crucial role of the entrepreneurial learning environment in cultivating environmentally conscious entrepreneurs, not only in Indonesia but also in broader global contexts.

Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the impact of work skills and family socio-economic status on work readiness, with entrepreneurial attitude as an intervening variable for Vocational High School graduates. A total of 179 graduates of Bima State Vocational School were the research sample, using a non-probability sampling approach, specifically for graduates from 2015 to 2022 who had not worked in their field of expertise for more than one year. The questionnaire instrument was designed based on research variables to collect research data. Data analysis uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results indicate that both work skills and family socioeconomic status do not play a substantial role in determining work readiness. On the other hand, having an entrepreneurial mindset has a noteworthy and positive effect on work readiness. Furthermore, it was observed that job skills and family socioeconomic status indeed influence work readiness, with entrepreneurial attitude serving as a key factor. The entrepreneurial mindset heavily shapes the work readiness of vocational high school graduates. Hence, the vocational education curriculum must emphasize the development of entrepreneurial attitudes and work readiness.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of mediating the relationship between the influence of self-confidence, creativity, and risk-taking on entrepreneurial intentions. This study uses PLS-SEM path analysis and quantitative survey. The population consisted of 572 12th-grade vocational students from ten vocational schools in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, chosen via non-probability purposive sampling based on their internship experiences. Participating vocational students are chosen based on their internships in industry, tourism, and other enterprises. The data was obtained using a Likert scale questionnaire and the analysis looked at internal consistency, construct validity, effect size, coefficient of determination, predictive relevance, and path coefficient. Entrepreneurial intentions (EI) are determined by the dominant factor, namely being able to make changes (CR9, λ = 95.40%), and entrepreneurial risks (EI2, λ = 7.30%) are the lowest factor. The ability of the structural model to explain EI is 50.70%, while the creativity variable explains 85.50% (Q² = 0.855) of the phenomena predicted in the field. Furthermore, the mediating role of risk-taking does not increase a significant positive effect on the effect of self-confidence on EI. This conclusion reveals the importance of developing entrepreneurial creativity and entrepreneurial intentions in shaping higher risk-taking behavior in vocational students. Implementing education and training programs that encourage creativity and entrepreneurial intentions can improve students' ability to deal with risks and take innovative steps in entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) ideally have a stable and prosperous economic condition characterized by the ability to manage finances wisely through safe and efficient savings and investments. However, this condition differs from most PMIs, who experience economic difficulties after returning to Indonesia. This study aims to confirm the influence of informal economic education, economic literacy, and entrepreneurial literacy on PMI's economic behavior. This research applies Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) using a quantitative approach with deductive thinking logic. Data were collected through an online survey and analyzed using IBM-SPSS-AMOS 25 to confirm the hypothesis proposed. The results showed that informal economic education, economic literacy, and entrepreneurial literacy positively affected PMI's economic behavior. Economic and entrepreneurial literacy also mediate the relationship between informal economic education and PMI's economic behavior in a partial (partial mediation) manner. The results provide valuable insights for policymakers and job training institutions on involving families to improve economic and entrepreneurial literacy in encouraging PMI's economic behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors influencing the financial wellness of students in East Java. The factors examined include parental financial education, financial status, financial literacy, and financial behavior. This research employs a quantitative approach involving 384 students from various universities in East Java. Data were collected through a questionnaire adapted from previously validated instruments. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modelling – Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) to determine the influence of each variable on students' financial wellness. The results indicate that parental financial education, financial status, financial literacy, and financial behavior have a significant positive impact on students' financial wellness. Additionally, parental financial education and financial status significantly contribute to students' financial behavior. Meanwhile, financial literacy does not affect students' financial behavior. This suggests that financial behavior mediates the relationship between parental financial education, financial status, and financial wellness.
