The objective of this study is to enhance understanding of variety, knowledge, and awareness of religious moderation among potential Islamic religious education teachers. The present study employs a quantitative methodology and utilizes correlational analysis as the primary research tool. This study aims to investigate the potential correlation between diversity in one variable and diversity in other variables. The empirical findings of the study provide evidence supporting the premise that there exists a significant positive correlation between awareness of variety and religious moderation. The statistical analysis reveals that the F value is 47.523, indicating a significant relationship. The associated probability value (sig.) is 0.000, further supporting the significance of the findings. The multiple linear regression model is deemed significant and the research hypothesis is accepted due to the probability value (sig.) of 0.000, which is significantly smaller than the conventional threshold of 0.05.

Abstract

Referring to historical developments, there is a dichotomy between religious knowledge and general science. Meanwhile, textually all knowledge comes from Allah without dichotomy. This research was conducted to analyze the classification of science according to al-Ghazali in the book Ihya Ulumuddin and to find out how relevant it is to modern education. In this research, the method used is library research which utilizes primary sources and secondary data sources. The primary source used is the book Ihya Ulumuddin by Imam al-Ghazali, while the secondary sources are articles related to the classification of science. The technique used to explore data sources is documentation techniques, namely using content analysis. The results of the research can be concluded as follows: 1) Al-Ghazali differentiated the legal classification of seeking knowledge, namely religious knowledge as fardhu 'ain, which includes the science of monotheism, the science of fiqh, the science of tafsir, the science of hadith, and the science of Sufism. Meanwhile, general sciences as fadhu kifayah include medicine, engineering, economics, animal husbandry, agriculture and others. Even though there are classifications of knowledge, in essence all knowledge comes from Allah and must be studied. 2) Spiritual values combined with the integration of religious knowledge and general knowledge, character development, use of active learning methods, multidisciplinary approaches and integration between technology and ethics have important points in developing Islamic education that suits students' needs in the current modern this context.

Abstract

This article describes the implementation of local wisdom-based learning in Antawirya Elementary School, Krian, Sidoarjo, East Java. The rise of schools that carry modern concepts i.e. integrated schools, international standard schools in their education has marginalized the local culture of Indonesia. Not only that, the majority of the younger generation has forgotten, not even knowing the local fairy tales and traditional games. In this context, Antawirya Krian Elementary School (SD) has a moral responsibility to develop the concept of learning based on local wisdom. This school rebranded itself as Islamic Javanese School. This is unique because local wisdom is the brand of the school and differentiates it from other schools. Through field research and data collection using documentation, observation and deep-interview, the findings of this article show the local wisdom carried by this school to practice traditional game-based learning and habituation to the local language, namely Javanese. In addition, learning based on local wisdom is able to increase the love of the homeland to learners. That's because the module “dolananku” presents a variety of traditional games that come from various regions in Indonesia. Thus, students know that their country, Indonesia has a variety of cultures that produce diversity.

Abstract

King Mohammed VI bestowed special emphasis upon Morocco, a country with a population of 30 million people and a Muslim majority of 99%. In 1999, Moroccan students’ performance in mathematics and science fell below the global average. The education system in Morocco is perceived as being unresponsive to the demands of the labour market, prompting the implementation of the National Education Emergency Support Programme in 2009. This study aims to examine the educational policies established by the Moroccan government. This research involves conducting a literature review, specifically employing content analysis tools. Research findings indicate that the majority of Islamic schools or madrasas in Morocco are predominantly overseen by autonomous or privately-owned organisations. The government’s involvement is necessary to promote the development of these schools in alignment with the requirements of the labour market, particularly in the realm of science.
