Abstract

The home-based tailoring business group in Medan Krio Village, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency faces challenges in productivity and business management due to limited capital, equipment/technology, and insufficient knowledge of management and financial administration. This community service activity aims to improve the productivity and business capacity of partners through the provision of appropriate technology equipment and human resource capacity building. The implementation methods include problem identification, provision of appropriate technology such as overlock sewing machines and heavy-duty sewing machines, as well as training in bookkeeping and business management. The results show a significant increase in production capacity by up to 100%, from 3–4 to 5–6 clothing pieces per day. Furthermore, 70% of participants demonstrated the ability to prepare financial records, and 75% showed an improved understanding of business management. The combination of equipment assistance and training proved effective in empowering the partners. This program has had a positive impact on the partners’ business development and opens opportunities for similar programs in the future. Keywords: appropriate technology, productivity, empowerment

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) conducted in Dusun Alas Malang, Tempos Village, Gerung District, West Lombok Regency, aims to improve financial management of agricultural and livestock income among the local residents through an educational participatory approach. In this program, students provide education on the importance of simple and systematic financial record-keeping and its positive impact on household economic resilience. Ten residents engaged in agricultural and livestock activities were the primary target group for this program. Through observations and interviews, it was found that most residents were not accustomed to recording income and expenses from their businesses, leading to traditional financial management that was undocumented and ineffective. The program was carried out in four phases: data collection and socialization, education, mentoring, and evaluation. In the data collection phase, the community was educated about the importance of financial record-keeping using a simple cash book format. During the education phase, materials on financial management and Hindu economic values were presented to provide a spiritual perspective on managing wealth. The mentoring phase aimed to guide residents in applying daily financial record-keeping. The evaluation showed that 85% of participants felt more knowledgeable about good financial management and were ready to continue maintaining records independently. This program successfully raised awareness among the community about the importance of wise, sustainable financial management that aligns with Hindu economic values.

Abstract

Tutoring is increasingly common in big cities; almost all parents register their children to take part in existing tutoring. This is done to catch up on lessons that are considered difficult. For parents who have sufficient income, paying for guidance is not a problem. However, for parents who have limited income, paying for tutoring is a very burdensome thing. Seeing the phenomenon that occurred in the villages of Ngabang subdistrict, Landak district, we, a team of service members from the Santo Agustinus Hippo Catholic University, collaborated with the Regional Library of Landak district to provide a Tutoring Service for elementary school students from grades one to five. The tutoring is carried out in the Regional Library building, and the teaching staff are Mathematics Education and English Education students. This guidance is free of charge for elementary school (SD) children who live around the Ngabang sub-district. The aim of this service is to help elementary school children who have difficulty learning mathematics and English. Meanwhile, his parents were unable to pay for tutoring fees. Abstract

Abstrak Perkembangan teknologi digital menuntut generasi muda memiliki kemampuan literasi digital yang mencakup aspek teknis, kritis, dan etis. Program Penguatan Literasi Digital untuk Meningkatkan Kemandirian Ekonomi Remaja di PKBM Media Amal Islami bertujuan memberdayakan remaja agar mampu memanfaatkan teknologi secara produktif, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR). Kegiatan melibatkan 25 peserta dan dilaksanakan dengan metode experiential learning yang menekankan partisipasi aktif, kolaborasi, dan refleksi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman literasi digital, etika bermedia, serta kemampuan mengintegrasikan teknologi ke dalam aktivitas ekonomi kreatif. Sebanyak 96% peserta mampu menghasilkan konten digital komunikatif dan menyusun rencana kewirausahaan berbasis media sosial. Temuan ini menegaskan efektivitas pendekatan PAR dalam meningkatkan kapasitas digital, motivasi, dan kemandirian ekonomi remaja. Program ini memberikan kontribusi strategis bagi penguatan peran lembaga sosial-keagamaan dalam menghadapi transformasi digital serta menjadi model pemberdayaan berkelanjutan untuk mencetak generasi muda yang digital literate, inovatif, dan berdaya saing. Kata Kunci: Literasi Digital, Kemandirian Ekonomi, Participatory Action Research, Pemberdayaan Remaja.

Abstract

Laporan keuangan merupakan cerminan Beragam aktivitas keuangan yang berlangsung di dalam organisasi. Aktivitas keuangan didokumentasikan, dikategorikan, diringkas Secara tepat secara finansial sebelum diinterpretasikan untuk berbagai keperluan. Seperti Tiga Juhar, Desa di Kecamatan Sinembah Tanjung Muda Hulu, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, pelatihan dan implementasi penyusunan laporan keuangan merupakan salah satu langkah strategis dalam meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap pemerintahan desa. Laporan keuangan memungkinkan masyarakat untuk mempelajari anggaran, program, dan kegiatan pemerintah desa. Pelatihan pelaporan implementasi keuangan telah terlaksana dengan sukses. Pengetahuan akuntansi koperasi serta pemahaman konseptual dan teknis meningkat sebagai hasil dari pelatihan dan implementasi. Selain itu, penggunaan studi kasus di koperasi memberikan pemahaman yang mendalam. Evaluasi program pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa peserta memiliki tingkat pengetahuan materi yang sangat tinggi.

Abstract

The Audiolingual Method is a language teaching approach that emphasizes habit formation through repeated practice and positive reinforcement. The main aim of this service activity is to assist and introduce teachers to the audio-lingual method which can form students' correct language habits through intensive repetition of language patterns. In practice, teaching with this method begins with listening and speaking exercises before reading and writing. Applying this method requires students to memorize dialogue, imitate intonation and pronunciation correctly, and respond automatically to verbal stimuli. Correction of errors is carried out directly to prevent the formation of wrong habits. The use of the mother tongue is minimized, even avoided, so that students get used to thinking in English. The result of this activity is that the teachers are very enthusiastic in learning and applying the audiolingual method. Moreover, this activity is strengthened by participants and practical application directly to students. Overall, the Audiolingual method is effective in the early stages of language learning, especially to build basic oral skills. However, it needs to be combined with other approaches so that language mastery becomes more balanced and communicative.

Abstract

Abstract This community engagement program aims to empower Sulam Angkinan artisans in Kampung Sunan, Sungai Lais, Palembang, through branding enhancement and digital journalism strategies on social media. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach, the activities consisted of participatory workshops and direct mentoring in content production for Instagram and TikTok. The program resulted in improved visual branding awareness, digital storytelling skills, and stronger online exposure, allowing artisans to present cultural identity and promote products more effectively. This empowerment model demonstrates that integrating local heritage with digital culture can increase visibility and create economic sustainability for small-scale artisans. Abstract

Komplikasi yang terjadi pada masa kehamilan merupakan masalah kesehatan yang signifikan di Indonesia. Komplikasi yang terjadi pada masa kehamilan seperti anemia dengan prevalensi yang terjadi mencapai 48,9% pada ibu hamil. Apabila dibandingkan dengan cakupan kunjungan antenatal care (ANC) K4 di Lampung yang menunjukkan penurunan menjadi sekitar 78% pada 2023-2024 hal ini menjadi sesuatu yang perlu diperhatikan karena komplikasi pada kehamilan dapat diataasi dengan salah satunya apabila kunjungan ANC K4 sesuai target pemerintah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman ibu hamil tentang pentingnya ANC terpadu dan deteksi dini komplikasi kehamilan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah Service Learning melalui penyuluhan, konseling interaktif, dan demonstrasi praktik Kesehatan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Desa Sidoharjo dengan melibatkan 26 ibu hamil dan tenaga kesehatan setempat. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang tanda bahaya kehamilan, kebutuhan gizi, dan persiapan persalinan. Dampak jangka pendek terlihat dari meningkatnya kesadaran kunjungan ANC rutin, sedangkan dampak jangka esehat diharapkan dapat menurunkan risiko komplikasi kehamilan dan meningkatkan angka keselamatan ibu dan bayi di tingkat komunitas

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of young children in maintaining dental health through education on proper tooth brushing at Mawar Preschool (PAUD Mawar). Dental health education is crucial from an early age given the high caries rate among preschool children in Indonesia. This activity involved 25 students aged 3–6 years old, using a participatory approach that included counseling, demonstrations of tooth brushing techniques, and hands-on practice. The activity included planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation to assess the children's understanding and skills. The results showed an increase in knowledge about tooth brushing times and the importance of maintaining dental hygiene. 92% of students were able to correctly answer the questions after the education session. Furthermore, 84% of students were able to practice proper tooth brushing techniques based on observations during the practice. Teachers and parents responded positively and expressed their readiness to support ongoing tooth brushing habits. Thus, this activity successfully increased children's awareness and skills in maintaining dental hygiene and strengthened collaboration between the school, parents, and healthcare professionals. Abstract

Abstract The community service program, which included education on nutritional needs and prenatal exercise for pregnant women, aimed to increase mothers' knowledge in an effort to improve their health and nutritional status, as well as fitness during pregnancy, which impacts the child's health and well-being. The target group for this community service activity was pregnant women in Sukoharjo Village. The community service program consisted of a pre-test in the form of a questionnaire, followed by counseling on prenatal exercise, and finally, a post-test in which all pregnant women completed a questionnaire. After the education, the results showed an increase in pregnant women's knowledge about nutrition and the benefits of prenatal exercise as an effort to prevent complications and cope with childbirth.
