Abstract

The development of creativity is an educational demand in the 21st century. This writing aims to discuss briefly the implementation of long-project storytelling in early childhood education and its implications for developing children’s creativity. The method used is Early Child Research and Practice (ECRP) with data collection techniques through observation, documentation and field notes on teachers and children. The research was conducted at the Bunda Balita Playgroup, Bandung City. The long-project storytelling was conducted in three meetings. The researchers explored the theme of learning about houses and the sub-theme of learning about various forms of houses (fairy houses). The learning innovation conducted in the long-project storytelling method is by implementing the Reggio Emilia learning approach.  It shows learning activity by utilizing existing resources in the school environment. Through the long-project storytelling learning method, children experience an increased profile of language development. This can be seen when they can listen attentively to stories and answer the teacher’s questions enthusiastically. Researchers came up with creative ideas that emerged within children, including aspects of fluency, flexibility, originality, aspects of detail or elaboration, and aspects of working together in creativity (teamwork and creativity).

Abstract

Technology is critical in everyday life today, and many people use it to do various things, including education, to absorb information quickly and efficiently. However, with technological advances, many teachers still use guidebooks as a learning medium, sometimes dull children. This research aims to create exciting learning media for young children about recognizing wild animals. This media is expected to make children active and happy to learn. In addition, this research will guide educators in using multimedia media to make learning more enjoyable for children. Analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation are the five steps in the development or RD model. Validation questionnaires were given to the validators, teachers, and students of this study. Initial field trials of the product obtained an average of 65.54%, which is included in the feasible category. The second field trial of the product experienced a significant increase with an average of 95%, which was in the "Very feasible" category. The results of media trials have increased significantly because they are supported by learning media designed attractively and innovatively. The children were very enthusiastic about participating in teaching and learning activities. Thus, this multimedia-based learning media for recognizing wild animals is suitable for teaching early childhood. Kindergarten school teachers can use this media to introduce wild animals as a learning medium to support fun teaching and learning activities

Abstract

The Importance of Early Childhood Education (ECE) in shaping clean and healthy living behaviors. The health and cleanliness aspects of children are crucial elements in the formation of physical and spiritual development. Kindergartens (TK) are considered to have a central role in creating positive environments and habits related to cleanliness and health. However, evaluation results indicate that its implementation has not been optimal, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic period, precisely in the years 2023-2024. Understanding the urgency of this issue is paramount. Early childhood is a critical period for the establishment of lifelong habits, and the impact of health and cleanliness practices during this time resonates throughout one#39;s life. This research aims to shape and implement the PHBS program in the Selaparang district. The research method used is a quantitative research survey method. Respondents in this study consist of school principals. Data collection techniques in this study are through questionnaires and interviews. Based on the research results, it can be known that the form of PHBS program implementation consists of two main categories, namely personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness. The average final scores for the implementation of personal hygiene category (92%) and environmental cleanliness (96%) thus the overall average implementation (93%) falls under the category of excellent. thus showing that the PHBS program as a whole has been successfully implemented well. This has the potential to have a positive impact on the health and well-being of children in the kindergarten.

Abstract

Integrating the dimensions of the Pancasila student profile in the Independent Learning Curriculum needs to be explored through the experience of driving teachers at the early childhood education level. This research used narrative design inquiry with 6 willing participants from several cities, including Samarinda, Riau, Palembang, Yogyakarta, Semarang and Makassar. Data were collected through indirect observation, documentation studies, and semi-structured interviews, which were analyzed using thematic analysis. The research results showed that the forms of integration of the Pancasila student profile dimensions in ECE units were based on an understanding as a foundation phase, a learning model project based on learning on major and national holiday themes and involving parents. So, we conclude that the experiences of driving teachers can be used as good practice in sharing communities to improve the quality of education. This research also contributes as a sustainable impact to efforts to develop Pancasila learning content at the education level for preschool-aged children to foster the character of loving their homeland, Indonesia.

Abstract

Gadgets it can be a problem when parents take the initiative to give gadgets to their children excessively which can result in Asthenopia (eye fatigue). The aim of this research is to find out how the level of asthenopia or eye fatigue in early childhood compares between the traditional game marsitekka or engklek GTP (Guess the Picture) and modern games. The research method used is experimental research using a mix method technique. Statistical tests use statistical analysis of the t test or difference test (t-test) and qualitative research is analyzed using Kohlberg theory. The results obtained is having an average difference with a value of 5,467. so this data shows that asthenopia in early childhood has a level of difference between traditional games and use of gadget set, with the level of asthenopia in traditional games being lower than in modern games. The impact of this research is expected to be one way to prevent the occurrence of Asthenopia in early childhood by developing traditional game models which are starting to be forgotten in the current technological era.

Abstract

Children often struggle to express their emotions effectively. When experiencing anxiety, they may show behaviors such as startling easily, crying, or throwing tantrums. This study investigated the effectiveness of Bubble Breaths relaxation in reducing anxiety in early childhood. A quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The participants were 18 Play Group students in Playgroup X, aged 3 to 5 years old. Saturated sampling was used to select the participants. Data analysis using a paired samples t-test revealed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. The analysis showed a significant decrease in students' anxiety scores after the test compared to the pre-test scores, indicating that bubble breaths relaxation was effective in reducing anxiety levels in early childhood. In conclusion, bubble breath relaxation is effective for minimizing anxiety in early childhood. This is an effort to stimulate children so that their feelings of anxiety, sadness, and tantrums can be minimized. This research provides an impact for teachers and parents to identify children's feelings/emotions. from this, teachers can determine strategies to stimulate children to be able to express their emotions effectively, so that children feel comfortable with the approach the teacher takes.

Abstract

One of the knowledge that children must know and have is about gender. Gender is the difference in characteristics possessed by a man or a woman. One media that can be used to introduce gender to children is flash card media. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness and advantages of flash cards in introducing gender to young children. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The research was conducted at Aisyiyah 03 Jatipuro Kindergarten, with subjects of 10 group A children aged 4-5 years. The results of the research show that through the use of flash card media for introducing gender to young children, children can better understand each gender characteristic of men and women. Flash cards were chosen because they are easy to make and cost effective, practical in use and storage, can be used anywhere, both at home and at school, and have an attractive appearance so that children are more enthusiastic about learning. The conclusion of the research is that flash card media can be used as an effective medium to introduce gender to young children based on the biological function of sex, how to dress and physical characteristics according to each gender.
