Abstract

Corruption remains a critical barrier to national development in Indonesia, particularly due to its systemic nature across public sectors. Despite anti-corruption programs mandated by law, including integration into civic and religious education, existing teaching approaches such as lectures often fail to actively engage students or effectively internalize ethical values. This study addresses the challenge by introducing “Pepak Aksi,” a card-based learning media designed to enhance anti-corruption education in junior high school settings. The objective of this study is to analyze the application and effectiveness of “Pepak Aksi” in fostering students’ understanding and internalization of anti-corruption values, specifically among Grade VII students at SMPN 10 Malang City. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings show that “Pepak Aksi” improves student engagement, enhances comprehension of anti-corruption concepts, and encourages the development of integrity, honesty, and discipline. Students demonstrated better performance in both academic tasks and behavioral indicators, while teachers reported improved instructional delivery and classroom dynamics. In conclusion, “Pepak Aksi” is an effective pedagogical tool for anti-corruption education, offering a participatory and values-oriented alternative to conventional methods. Its implementation contributes to the broader effort of character education and can be adapted for wider use in school curricula.

Abstract

Citizenship education in Indonesia, particularly at the junior high school level, continues to face fundamental challenges, especially in terms of the comprehensive implementation of citizenship competencies within school curricula. These competencies encompass knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are essential for shaping responsible and active citizens who contribute meaningfully to national and civic life. This study aims to analyze the implementation of citizenship competencies within the educational unit curriculum through the subject of Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) at the junior high school level in Bima Regency. The research adopts a concurrent embedded mixed methods approach, integrating the strengths of both quantitative and qualitative data. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and the distribution of questionnaires to 210 students and several selected informants from two public junior high schools in Bima Regency. The study reveals that students’ knowledge and attitudinal aspects of citizenship are generally strong, particularly in their understanding of Pancasila values, citizens’ rights and obligations, and their appreciation of diversity. However, the skills dimension of citizenship such as critical thinking regarding human rights issues, understanding governmental systems, and applying civic values in both local and global contexts—still requires significant reinforcement. The study concludes that there is a pressing need for more contextual, practical, and project-based learning approaches to enhance students’ civic skills. The findings suggest that innovative and participatory teaching strategies in the implementation of the PPKn curriculum are crucial for cultivating active, tolerant, and responsible young citizens.

Abstract

Students often face problems in learning mathematics, such as boredom and lack of motivation due to monotonous learning media. This study aims to develop android-based learning media with google sites. This study uses the Research and Development (RD) method with the ASSURE model. Validation of the learning media was carried out by two material expert validators and two media expert validators to ensure the quality and feasibility of the media developed. The results of the validation test showed that the developed learning media was very valid, with a percentage of material experts of 96% and media experts of 98%. The results of the practicality test showed that the media was classified as very practical, with an average teacher response of 92% and a student response of 88%. The effectiveness test conducted on 28 students of class VIII G showed that the developed learning media was effective, with a classical level of student learning completion reaching 87%. This study has succeeded in developing android-based mathematics learning media using google sites that can improve student motivation and learning outcomes. The implications of this study indicate that the application of technology in mathematics learning, especially through the use of google sites, is an effective solution to overcome the problem of boredom in learning.

Abstract

Students’ understanding of political literacy and civic knowledge remains relatively low, as observed among 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Takalar. This low level of understanding highlights the need for more contextual and character-oriented learning strategies. This study aims to examine how the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) can improve students’ political literacy and civic knowledge. It also seeks to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the project’s implementation, analyze the implications for students’ understanding, and propose solutions to the identified challenges, particularly by focusing on the enhancement of critical thinking dimensions. The research employed a mixed methods approach with a qualitative-dominant emphasis. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. Quantitative respondents were selected via simple random sampling, while qualitative informants were chosen purposively. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, and quantitatively through verification and percentage analysis of the questionnaire data. The findings indicate that the implementation of P5 significantly contributes to improving students' understanding of political systems, their ability to analyze political information, and their engagement with social and political issues. Furthermore, the project enhances students’ critical thinking, argumentation, and collaboration skills. In conclusion, P5 proves to be an effective approach in enhancing political literacy and civic knowledge while also fostering active and reflective citizenship among students.

Abstract

The rise of moral degradation among students due to uncontrolled exposure to social media has become a critical challenge in the world of education. This study aims to identify the role of educators in instilling character education to students who experience moral degradation due to technological advances followed by the onslaught of social media. This research was conducted qualitatively using a library research approach by identifying the role, relationship, and impact of social media on the character of students. The results explain that the moral degradation that occurs in students due to the onslaught of social media can be overcome by educators by internalizing the concept of character education in Yusuf Qardhawi's thoughts, namely Rabaniyah, Insaniyah, Syumul, Al-Wasathiyah, and Al Jam'u Baina Ats Tsabat wa Al Murunnah. This research is still very relevant in overcoming moral degradation in the era of social media onslaught with the approach of Yusuf Qardhawi's character education concept.

Abstract

Low academic achievement and limited collaborative interaction remain prevalent challenges in primary education learning processes. Conventional teacher-centered approaches have been insufficient in fostering active participation and student cooperation. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model on improving learning outcomes and collaboration among elementary school students. Employing a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design, the study involved 23 third-grade students from UPTD SDN Lajing 5 Arosbaya. The instruments used included a learning achievement test and a student collaboration questionnaire. Data were analyzed through validity, reliability, normality tests, and the Paired Sample T-Test using SPSS v21.0. The findings indicate a significant improvement in both academic performance and student cooperation following the implementation of the Jigsaw model. Post-test scores and collaboration indicators increased substantially, with a significance value of 0.000 (p 0.05). The instruments were found to be valid and reliable, with normally distributed data. In conclusion, the Jigsaw model proved effective in enhancing both learning outcomes and student collaboration in primary education. This study contributes empirical evidence supporting the Jigsaw method's efficacy in the context of Pancasila Education and recommends it as an innovative strategy for fostering active and collaborative learning.

Abstract

This study examines the growing public demand for transparency in public complaint services at the Enrekang Police Department, where challenges such as discriminatory practices and inadequate technological infrastructure persist. The research aims to evaluate the implementation of transparency principles in complaint handling services and to identify the internal and external factors influencing these processes. A qualitative research method employing a case study approach was utilized, incorporating in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis to ensure data triangulation, with thematic analysis applied for data interpretation. The findings reveal that although the Enrekang Police have made notable improvements in responsiveness, speed, and accuracy demonstrated through courteous interactions and diligent case handling significant shortcomings in timeliness remain. These delays are primarily attributed to discriminatory practices and technological constraints. The study concludes that achieving transparency in public services necessitates not only procedural and technical advancements but also a cultural transformation within the institution. It further suggests that continuous human resource development, digital innovations such as mobile case-tracking systems, and participatory public education are critical to bridging the gap between transparency ideals and practical implementation. These strategies offer a pathway toward enhancing public trust and strengthening institutional accountability.
