Abstract

In the era of globalization, Indonesia's digital democracy faces significant challenges such as misinformation, privacy issues, and the digital divide, despite its high internet penetration. These certainly pose a major threat to the sustainability of digital democracy in Indonesia and the development of digital democracy in the future. Therefore, this study intends to analyze how Indonesia can effectively improve digital democracy while addressing these challenges. Using a systematic literature review method, this study examines literature published between 2019 and 2024, applying strict inclusion and exclusion criteria. Inclusion criteria include peer-reviewed articles and research reports directly related to democracy, public participation, and technology, published in Indonesian or English. Exclusion criteria eliminate irrelevant opinions, outdated publications before 2014, and studies with weak methodology. The study findings reveal that increasing digital literacy can significantly reduce political polarization caused by misinformation. In addition, this study emphasizes the need for collaboration between the government, society, and the private sector to promote inclusiveness, transparency, and accountability in the democratic process. In conclusion, this study recommends policies that prioritize digital literacy and technology development to create a sustainable digital democracy. The implementation of these policy recommendations can provide a framework for increasing public engagement and trust in democratic institutions, ultimately contributing to a more resilient and equitable digital democracy in Indonesia.

Abstract

Civic Education (Civics) learning has an important role in Higher Education to shape students' civic intelligence. However, the use of inappropriate learning models cannot shape civic intelligence. This study aims to find an overview and influence of the Civics learning model commonly used in higher education on student civic intelligence. The method used is a survey with a quantitative approach with data collection techniques using questionnaires distributed to research samples, namely students on three campuses in Subang Regency. The results of the study provide an overview in general the Civics learning models that are widely used are case studies and discussions. This learning model does not have a significant effect on student civic intelligence. The use of case study and discussion learning models affects aspects of interpersonal interaction and tolerance for differences. However, this is not optimal in some areas of civic intelligence, especially related to creativity, social participation, and the ability to manage emotions. It is necessary to choose a more optimal learning model, such as a project-based learning model.

Abstract

The Structure of the Merdeka Curriculum focuses on the formation of The Pancasila Student Profile (PPP), which is a guide in developing standard content, processes, and assessments at every level of education. The Project Program for Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile (P5) is applied to basic to medium education, aiming to form students' characters under the values of Pancasila and respond to the challenge of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Method: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the P5 program and suggest repairs. The method in this study uses the CIPP evaluation model (context, input, process, product). The application of this method is based on the suitability of the program with the P5 module compiled by the team, and conducted depth interviews with the school principal, vice principal, and curriculum vice principal as stakeholders and analyzed the P5 report card document. Results: The evaluation results show that P5 is effective in building the character of students through the integration of independence values, cooperation, creativity, and democracy. Based on the P5 report card, students of SMP Negeri 1 Makassar are categorized as follows: 70.7% of students are categorized as Developed as Expected (BSH); 22% are categorized as Very Developed (SB); 7.3% are categorized as Start Developed (MB); and there is no student categorized as Not Developed (BB). However, there is a challenge faced in the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Program, such as the difference in mindsets between teachers, delays in disbursing funds, and the need for a more objective assessment rubric. In addition, the implementation time is needed from the center and more varied theme guidelines. Conclusions: This evaluation suggests that the development of the assessment rubric and improvement of operational procedures is carried out to increase the effectiveness of the program. Although the final product is not always physical, the main focus of P5 is a change in attitudes and commitment of students to the values raised in the project.

Abstract

This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of using Sipaurangi 3D learning media in enhancing students' self-efficacy in the subject of Pancasila Education. The Sipaurangi 3D media was developed using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, to ensure that the product meets learning needs. This media was designed to integrate interactive elements that are concrete and engaging, thereby providing students with a more immersive learning experience and motivating them to become more active in the learning process. The study was conducted in Grade IV at SDI Gunung Sari Baru, Makassar City, using data collection methods such as questionnaires, observations, and learning achievement tests. The results showed that Sipaurangi 3D media significantly enhanced students' self-efficacy, as evidenced by an increase in self-efficacy questionnaire scores before and after using the media, with a significance value of (p 0.05). In addition, students gave positive responses to this media, as demonstrated by their increased confidence and motivation in understanding the Pancasila Education material. Teachers also provided positive feedback, stating that this media is practical and effective in capturing students' attention and increasing their participation during the learning process. Thus, Sipaurangi 3D learning media can be proposed as an innovative alternative to improve the quality of learning and student engagement in the teaching-learning process, particularly in subjects that focus on character building and the reinforcement of national values.

Abstract

Social cohesion and patterns of political behavior of the community are often related to the use of religious symbols as a tool to mobilize political interests in the dynamics of democracy in Indonesia. The tendency to visualize religion in politics can be seen in political contestation in the 2024 Indonesian Presidential Election. This phenomenon can cause social polarization and be used as a tool for identity politics. This study aims to analyze the forms of religious visualization in the 2024 Presidential Election in Indonesia. The method used is qualitative research with content analysis with the Norman Fairclough Critical Discourse Analysis approach, namely description, interpretation, and explanation of Instagram social media uploads from three presidential candidates, namely Anies Baswedan, Prabowo Subianto, and Ganjar Pranowo. The results show that the three candidates use religious symbols to build political imagery, with different intensities and approaches used. Anies Baswedan often uses religious rhetoric and Islamic and Christian symbols in his campaigns, Ganjar Pranowo emphasizes interfaith harmony, while Prabowo Subianto tends to display a visualization of nationality and diversity. These findings confirm that social media is a key tool in building a religion-based political narrative, which can contribute to the formation of public perception. This study contributes to the critical literature on politics by providing insights into how identity politics works in the digital realm and its impact on democratic practices in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research departs from the urgency of education as a preventive tool to instill integrity values from an early age, amid the rampant corruption practices that are rooted in the social life of Indonesian society. The research aims to describe the integration of anti-corruption education in Pancasila and Civics Education (PPKn) learning, analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors in the process, and identify the impact on students at SMPN 12 Makassar. The approach used is qualitative with descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that anti-corruption values were integrated through active learning approaches such as discussions, case studies, and value-based projects, as well as through the example of educators. Supporting factors for this integration include educators' commitment, principal support, and flexibility in curriculum development. Meanwhile, the obstacles faced include limited learning time and lack of special training for teachers. The impact of this integration can be seen from changes in students' behavior, such as increased honesty, sense of responsibility, discipline, and courage to voice injustice in the school environment. The findings confirm that anti-corruption education integrated in Civics learning contributes significantly to shaping learners' character with integrity, if implemented consistently and collaboratively.
