Abstract

Many teachers still exhibit suboptimal performance. The lack of human resources and issues related to insufficient facilities are also considered as factors hindering the improvement of teacher performance. Based on these issues, the objective of this research is to analyze the influence of professional competence and organizational climate on teacher performance in senior high schools. This study employs a quantitative method, emphasizing the collection of numerical data to be analyzed using statistical techniques. The population in this study consists of all teachers at a public high school, with a total of 46 teachers. The sample includes all teachers at the high school, also totaling 46 teachers, selected through the Total Sampling method. The data collection methods used include questionnaires and document studies. The research instrument comprises a structured closed-ended questionnaire and documentation guidelines. Data analysis techniques involve both descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results of the study reveal that professional competence has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, with a coefficient value of 0.479. This indicates that improvements in professional competence will positively impact teacher performance. In addition, the organizational climate also significantly influences teacher performance, with a coefficient value of 0.580. Abstract

Child-Friendly Schools (CFS) have yet to fully achieve their intended objectives, primarily due to several contributing factors such as the lack of coordination and collaboration among stakeholders and policy implementers, as well as limitations in human resources. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of teachers’ roles on the policies and implementation of child-friendly schools in kindergartens. This research adopts a quantitative approach. The population consists of 53 kindergarten teachers, and the sampling technique used is saturated sampling (census), resulting in a total sample of 53 teachers. Data were collected through questionnaires, with the research instrument in the form of structured survey sheets. The data analysis techniques employed include both descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the study show that the role of teachers falls into the moderate category at 43.40%. Similarly, the child-friendly school policy and its implementation are also categorized as moderate, with scores of 43.40% and 54.71%, respectively. The partial test analysis (t-test) indicates a significant influence of teachers' roles on both the policies and implementation of child-friendly schools. The Unstandardized B coefficient confirms a measurable effect of teachers’ roles on child-friendly school policy and implementation. The Adjusted R-Square value for child-friendly school policy is 0.463, suggesting that 46.3% of the variance in policy is explained by the role of teachers, while the remaining 53.7% is attributed to other factors not examined in this study. Furthermore, the role of teachers accounts for 48.6% of the variance in the implementation of CFS, with 51.4% influenced by other unexamined components. The implication of this research is that the role of teachers has a significant impact on the implementation of child-friendly school practices, underscoring the need to strengthen teacher involvement and capacity in order to advance CFS initiatives effectively.

Abstract

English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms, vocabulary acquisition continues to encounter obstacles because of students’ low engagement with traditional methods, as well as contextual limitations. As Generation Z learners become more honed to digital and visual culture, an urgent need arises to align strategies that meet the learners in this context. This study seeks to analyse, critique, and interpret to potentials of Webtoon translation based pedagogy for enrichment of vocabulary knowledge and to enhance motivation and intercultural awareness for Gen Z learners. The research utilized a qualitative case study design to provide an in-depth understanding of students' experiences and responses to authentic learning situations. Data were collected from 40 undergraduate students through language vocabulary pre- and post-tests, classroom observations, reflective journals, and semi-structured interviews. Quantitative test data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a t-test to determine vocabulary gains, while qualitative data were coded then subjected to thematic analysis to identify recurring themes about: translation strategies, challenges to learning, and motivating factors. Based on the findings, vocabulary mastery increased significantly following the use of the Webtoon intervention. Statistically significant gains were made by learners in contextualization of vocabulary, understanding idiomatic expressions, and ability to remember words or phrases. Furthermore, qualitative feedback suggested that the enriched and multimodal possibilities of Webtoons were effective in promoting deeper cognitive processing and motivating learners to engage with the targeted vocabulary. However, challenges existed in interpreting slang and cultural context, plus technical difficulties with digital access were evident.

Abstract

Despite extensive process improvement efforts, educational quality often lags, indicating a gap between managerial routines and uneven learning outcomes. Closing this gap requires an integrated perspective that links instructional leadership, teacher professional competence, and work culture as a single quality system. This study aimed to analyze the causal model of the influence of instructional leadership, teacher competence, and work culture on educational quality in public junior high schools. This study used a quantitative correlational design with proportional random sampling of 173 teachers. Data were collected through validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, multiple regression, and path analysis; all analytical assumptions were met. The results showed that all three constructs were positively and significantly associated with educational quality; simultaneously, the model explained a significant portion of the variation, with teacher competence emerging as the strongest predictor. The path analysis showed that leadership influences operate directly and indirectly through teacher competence and work culture, making synergy between constructs key. This study validates the integrated causal model of school quality. Theoretically, the findings clarify the pathways of influence between components. In practical terms, the implication is that the quality improvement agenda needs to combine programmed leadership routines, practice-based professional development, and the cultivation of collaboration, innovation, and disciplined, sustainable, and accountable follow-up.
