Abstract

This research is a bibliometric study that aims to review the literature related to the application of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) in an effort to overcome academic procrastination among students. A total of 35 documents published between 2013 and 2025 were analyzed from various scientific databases such as Scopus, Google Scholar, DOAJ, and Garuda. The main objectives of this study were to identify the direction of publication development, the dominant intervention techniques used, and to map the main themes in the literature. The results of mapping through VOSviewer software revealed that the topic of SFBT and academic procrastination is increasingly in demand, especially in the Indonesian education domain. SFBT approaches with techniques such as miracle questions and exception questions are proven to help students reduce procrastination, build realistic solutions, and increase academic self-confidence. These findings make an important contribution to the development of solution-based counseling approaches in education, both theoretically and practically.

Abstract

This bibliometric study examines the research landscape of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) in counseling from 1995 to 2025, analyzing 919 Scopus-indexed publications to map trends, collaborations, and thematic evolution. While EFT has gained recognition as an evidence-based intervention for emotional distress, its scientific development and research networks within counseling remain underexplored. Using VOSviewer for network analysis, the study identified three developmental phases: initial validation (1995–2007), empirical expansion (2008–2019), and pandemic-responsive integration (2020–2025). Key findings reveal a predominant focus on youth mental health, school settings, and trauma management, with emerging applications for COVID-19-related stress. The research demonstrates EFT's transition from alternative therapy to mainstream acceptance, evidenced by peak productivity in 2024 (68 publications). However, peripheral areas like ethical considerations and spiritual adaptations (e.g., SEFT in Indonesia) require further investigation. The study highlights EFT's practical utility in counseling, particularly for academic anxiety and crisis intervention, while underscoring the need for standardized protocols and digital adaptations. These findings provide a foundation for advancing EFT research, policy-making, and cross-cultural applications in mental health care.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze research trends and directions regarding Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) in enhancing the psychological well-being of Generation Z using a bibliometric approach. SFBT is a brief, solution-oriented therapeutic approach that has proven effective in helping individuals—including adolescents—develop positive thinking patterns and problem-solving strategies. The study employs bibliometric analysis of scientific literature spanning 1953 to 2023, utilizing *Publish or Perish* and VOSviewer software to identify thematic clusters, author collaborations, and keyword trends. Visualization results reveal three primary clusters: (1) psychological scales and student life, (2) the effectiveness of SFBT, and (3) respondent profiles within the Indonesian context. These findings offer valuable insights for practitioners, researchers, and policymakers in designing effective counseling interventions to improve the mental well-being of Generation Z in today's challenging modern era
