Abstract

This research aims to describe the correlation between Self-Regulation and Fear of Missing Out (FoMo) Syndrome in Female Students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at IVET University Semarang. This type of research is quantitative correlational research using two variables, namely self-regulation and FoMo syndrome. The sample used in this research was 34 female students in the 5th semester of the 2021/2022 class. The technique used in sampling in this research was purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using the selfregulation and FoMo syndrome scales. The results obtained using the product moment correlation technique (Γxy) = - 0.453 and p = 0.007 (p < 0.05). This means that there is a negative relationship between self-regulation and FoMo syndrome in female students. According to the results of the data that has been obtained, the variable self - regulation (. Meanwhile, the FoMo syndrome variable has a hypothetical value = 50 and an empirical mean = 55.29. This means that the data shows that the FoMo syndrome of female students is relatively high because it has a hypothetical mean value < the empirical mean. So it can be concluded that the lower the self-regulation that female students have, the higher the FoMo syndrome that occurs. So it can be concluded that the hypothesis formulated in this research is accepted.

Bullying is a serious issue in education settings that can negatively impact students’ psychological and social development. Data indicate that indonesia ranks high in bullying cases, with 41.1% of students’ reporting having been victims. Through this approach, students are invited to act in situations reflecting bullying experiences, allowing them to understand the impact of such behaviors both as perpetrators and victims. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test to measure changes in students’ behavior after the intervention. The analysis results showed a significant improvement in awareness and a reduction in bullying behavior among students’ who participated in group counseling sessions using the role-playing technique. The wilcoxon test results indicated a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores in the experimental group, with an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) valiue of 0.11 (p < 0.05). This finding demonstrates that the role-playing technique in group counseling is effective in reducing bullying behavior among students’ at SMPN Camplong-Sampang.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of self-management techniques with group counseling to reduce the academic procrastination of Al-Islam Krian Middle School students. This research uses self-management techniques with group counseling. This research uses quantitative methods with a one group pre-test post-test design. This research only used one experimental class without using a control or comparison class. This experimental class is obtained from the results of a measurement scale that has been distributed to the population, after which it will be known which subjects will fill the experimental class. Based on the results of the discussion, there were 6 students who had high academic procrastination and this was seen from the results of the pre-test and post-test that had been given. The results of the Wilcoxson test performed showed that Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) is worth 0.028. Because the value of 0.028 is smaller than 0.05, it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted. So that self-management techniques in group counseling are effective in reducing the academic procrastination of Al-Islam Krian Middle School students.

Abstract

This paper discusses the importance of multicultural counseling training for counselors, emphasizing the need for professional development to enhance counselors' competencies in dealing with diverse cultural backgrounds. In a multicultural society like Indonesia, where cultural, ethnic, religious, and linguistic diversities prevail, counselors must possess the ability to understand and respect these differences to provide relevant and inclusive services. This paper outlines the stages of multicultural counseling training, from increasing cultural awareness to direct involvement in multicultural counseling practices. The training also involves various techniques such as personal experiences, direct experiences, workshops, and cultural assimilators. Furthermore, the paper emphasizes the necessity of evaluating the effectiveness of this training to ensure it meets its goals. The findings indicate that such training is essential in improving the counselors' ability to deliver fair and effective counseling interventions, fostering an inclusive and adaptive approach to multicultural challenges.

Abstract

This study highlights that psychological well-being is a crucial aspect of college students' lives, particularly for those enrolled in Guidance and Counseling study programs. Final-year students demonstrated slightly higher levels of psychological well-being (70.04%) compared to first-year students (66.98%). However, statistical analysis revealed that this difference was not significant. This suggests that overall, psychological well-being does not significantly differ based on academic level. Nevertheless, these findings provide important insights into the unique psychological challenges faced by college students at each stage of their academic journey—from adaptation difficulties in the early years to academic and career stress in the later years. Therefore, higher education institutions need to develop targeted support services to meet the specific needs of students at each stage. Furthermore, this study contributes to the development of research on the psychological well-being of guidance and counseling students and provides a basis for designing more effective and developmentally appropriate interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of individual counseling services with self-management techniques in improving the discipline of students in memorizing the Al-'Awamil book at the Miftahussholawat Islamic Boarding School. The study used a pre-experimental design with the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design method. The sample was taken by purposive sampling from 30 female students, focusing on 3 students with the lowest discipline scores based on the pretest results. The instrument used was a discipline questionnaire with indicators of self-control, habituation of good deeds, self-evaluation (muhasabah), and istiqamah, which had been validated and were reliable. After receiving four sessions of individual counseling services, the posttest results showed an increase in the discipline scores of the three students from the low to high category with an average increase of 51.94%. Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed that the increase was not statistically significant at the 5% level. However, descriptively, self-management technique counseling services have proven effective in increasing the discipline of students, which is also accompanied by positive behavioral changes in accordance with the values of Imam Al-Ghazali's moral education. This study recommends the implementation of self-management technique counseling services as a supporting strategy for discipline education in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of guidance information services delivered through short movie video media on students’ readiness to enter higher education at SMAN 11 Muaro Jambi. The background of the study stems from the lack of students’ motivation and preparedness in seeking information regarding higher education, as well as the limited appeal of traditional media like brochures. In line with technological advancements, short movie videos are considered a more interactive medium that can enhance student engagement. The research employed a quantitative associative approach using correlational methods. The sample consisted of 100 twelfth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings reveal a significant influence of informational services delivered via short movie videos on improving students' readiness in academic, psychological, social, and financial aspects to pursue higher education. These results suggest that visually engaging media can serve as an effective tool to disseminate educational information and enhance students' understanding and interest in continuing their education. The study recommends the broader application of short movie videos within school counseling services to assist students in making more informed and focused educational decisions.
