Abstract

The results of observations at SD Negeri 1 Sunggutan show that students have to read a lot, causing students' enthusiasm for learning. In the case of dense material needs, teachers do not learn through the media, but rather through the lecture method. This method results in students not being motivated to continuously learn. In addition, teachers lack ideas for learning even less interesting and creative, and students are less active in reading lesson materials. The purpose of this study was to determine the faktors causing the low motivation to learn students in the Social Studies Class IV subject of SD Negeri 1 Sunggutan. The informants of this study were 25 students in grade IV. The data collection used is observation, and documentation. Data analysis using data triangulation. As a result of the readiness and mastery of the teacher to prepare spaces, learning tools (package books and LKS), teachers also carry out the learning process starting with preliminary activities with class conditioning, providing motivation, appreciating, conveying indicators of competency achievement, and checking student readiness. The faktors causing the low motivation to learn social studies subjects at SD Negeri 1 Sunggutan are that students do not pay attention to the teacher's explanation, students do not concentrate when attending lessons, and students do not have confidence in following lessons. In addition, there is a lack of varied learning methods, teachers do not use learning media, and lack of learning resources

Abstract

One of the most important lessons in elementary school is understanding what they read. While reading comprehension is essential to academic success, not all students demonstrate adequate proficiency. The researcher interviewed and observed classes in SD Negeri 8 Menteng Palangka Raya, notably sixth grade, and found this issue. The researcher utilized one of the instructions to promote reading comprehension from that issue. Vocabulary instruction could increase English text comprehension, according to the study. This semester, students studied Describing People and Objects and picked descriptive text. The researcher solved the challenge with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design. This study had two groups: 6A (control) and 6C (experimental). The experimental group randomly sampled vocabulary training, while the control group received non-vocabulary education. There were also two variables in this study: vocabulary teaching served as the independent variable, and the mean scores of both groups' tests served as the dependent variable. Pre- and post-test results determined the class's vocabulary instruction effectiveness. Finally, the data showed that vocabulary instruction improves reading comprehension more than non-vocabulary instruction. Scores were less than 0.05, rejecting H0 and accepting Ha. Data less than 0.05 indicates that independent variables only partially impact the dependent variable. Vocabulary education improves students' reading comprehension in SD Negeri 8 Menteng Palangka Raya

Abstract

This study aims to prove that there is a relationship between learning motivation and students' academic procrastination behavior at one of the Public Elementary School in Sukabumi, West Java. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method. The population is a group of elements or cases, be it individuals, objects or events, which are related to specific criteria and are something that becomes the target of generalizations set by the researcher to study and draw conclusions. The population in this study were all fifth grade elementary school students with a total of 64 students, consisting of 41 male students and 23 female students. Independent variables, namely variables that can influence or influence other variables and are denoted by the variable X. Based on the research results obtained through the process of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that there is a negative and significant relationship between learning motivation and students' academic procrastination with an r count of -0.539 and is in the category of moderate relationship level. The existence of a negative relationship means that if student learning motivation is high then student academic procrastination is low, and vice versa if student learning motivation is low then student academic procrastination is high.
