Abstract

The quality of education will not be successful without the right strategy to improve every aspect that influences it, such as teacher professionalism, graduate competency standards, learning effectiveness, and programs that support quality achievement. One step to improve quality is through the implementation of strategic management which can help determine appropriate strategies to improve the quality of education. This research aims to analyze strategic management, and identify the results of implementing strategic management in improving the quality of education at the Darul Qur'an Wadda'wah Argapura Islamic Boarding School, Jayapura City, Papua. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation studies. The research results show that strategic management in improving the quality of education at the Darul Qur'an Wadda'wah Argapura Islamic Boarding School, Jayapura City, Papua goes through four stages, namely environmental analysis, formulation, implementation and evaluation. Environmental analysis includes an evaluation of internal strengths and weaknesses as well as external opportunities and threats. Strategic management formulation includes the development of school vision, mission, goals and strategies. Implementation of strategic management involves implementing the Eight National Education Standards as well as managing the curriculum, student activities and facilities well. Strategic management evaluation is carried out through several types of evaluation, including program evaluation by the school principal or person in charge, academic evaluation, and school evaluation meetings. Supporting factors in improving the quality of education include adequate facilities and good relationships with parents and boarding schools. However, factors such as inadequate teacher qualifications, disruption in the learning process, and competition with other Islamic boarding schools are obstacles to achieving quality education at the Islamic boarding school.

Abstract

Statistics courses are one of the compulsory courses in tertiary institutions and to understand statistical material, mathematical reasoning skills are very necessary. This research aims to test and analyze differences in improving students' mathematical reasoning abilities in statistics courses with Teachmint-assisted Problem Based Learning (PBL) and expository learning. This research uses quantitative methods with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent pretest posttest control-group design. The sample consisted of 70 third semester PGSD students at Santo Thomas Catholic University, Medan. Before and after learning, research data was collected using a mathematical reasoning test consisting of 5 essay questions. Paired sample t-test analysis and independent t-test were used to answer the research hypothesis. The results of the research concluded that students who studied with Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by Teachmint achieved a higher increase in mathematical reasoning abilities than those who studied expository, with the criteria for increasing abilities in both classes being in the medium category.

Abstract

The legal certainty referred to in this article is legal certainty regarding the status of workers as a result of the spin-off of the company. This legal certainty is the enforcement of the implementation of the Employment Law and the Limited Liability Company Law. According to Sudikno Mertukusumo, legal certainty is a guarantee that the law must be implemented in a good manner. This article was written using a qualitative method with an approach to existing legislation and legal doctrine to examine phenomena or changes that occur in society, one of which is the separation of companies and the legal consequences this causes for workers.

Abstract

Training for recidivist prisoners is more focused on independent activities, so it is hoped that recidivists who have already committed crimes will no longer commit crimes and after leaving their sentence will be well received by the outside community. Assimilation is carried out as a further effort in preparation for returning prisoners to social life. The research method used is normative juridical as the main method and empirical juridical as a supporting method, with the nature of analytical descriptive research, then collecting data sourced from secondary data as main data and primary data as supporting data, then the data is processed qualitatively.

Abstract

This study explores the differences in the implementation of tutorials of Teaching Practice Course or known as Pemantapan Kemampuan Mengajar (PKM) in Universitas Terbuka before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study specifically also aims to investigate the perceptions of tutors and students regarding these changes. The research method used was qualitative with two tutors and 20 students participating as research subjects. The results show differences in teaching approaches, media used, and assignments given in PKM during and before pandemic. During pandemic, tutors face challenges in measuring students’ achievements and in accommodating variations in the application of affective factors in PKM class. Meanwhile, students experience confusion in online learning, although they acknowledge some advantages such as cost savings and opportunities for collaborative practice. In conclusion, ongoing adaptation is necessary to ensure optimal learning quality in pandemic situations. Keywords: Covid-19 pandemic, PKM, UT Tutorial, Tutor’s Perception, Student’s Perception

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tentang efektivitas model pembelajaran Game-Based Learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran IPS di SMP Negeri 6 Pontianak. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis kuantitatif eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain penelitian Quasi Eksperimental Design dengan rancangan penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Teknik penelitian yang digunakan adalah teknik observasi langsung serta teknik pengukuran. Alat pengumpulan data yaitu berupa lembar observasi, tes hasil belajar serta lembar dokumenter. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan uji normalitas, uji hipotesis serta dengan uji effect size. Hasil belajar pada model pembelajaran Game-Based Learning pada kelas eksperimen memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 83,70. Sedangkan, pada kelas kontrol memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 63,39. Kondisi ini menyatakan bahwa model pembelajaran Game-Based Learning lebih efektif untuk digunakan dibandingkan model pembelajaran konvensional. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dari hasil uji effect size yaitu 2,1555 yang tergolong berkategori tinggi. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Game-Based Learning efektif terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran IPS kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 6 Pontianak.

Abstract

The research investigates self-efficacy, technopreneur knowledge, and interest in entrepreneurship in the fashion sector among class X Fashion Design students at SMK Negeri 1 Jabon. Additionally, the study aims to explore the correlation between self-efficacy and interest in entrepreneurship in the fashion sector, technopreneur knowledge and interest in entrepreneurship in the fashion sector, and self-efficacy, technopreneur knowledge and interest in entrepreneurship in the fashion sector. The research employed a saturated sampling technique, employing questionnaire instruments and multiple-choice tests. The study's final results indicate a tendency towards high levels of self-efficacy and interest in entrepreneurship in the fashion sector among the participants. Multiple regression analysis reveals that the calculated t-values of self-efficacy and technopreneur knowledge are 7.010 and 4.453, respectively, more significant than the accepted value of 2.040 at a significance level of 0.000 <0.05. Therefore, partially, the self-efficacy variable has a relationship with interest in entrepreneurship in the fashion sector, as well as the technopreneur knowledge variable. Furthermore, the obtained F count of 192.145 is greater than the accepted value of 3.305 at a significance level of 0.000 <0.05. This indicates that simultaneously, self-efficacy and technopreneur knowledge are related to interest in entrepreneurship in fashion for class X students with 92.5% accuracy. In comparison, the remaining 7.5% is associated with other variables.

Abstract

Pneumonia is one of the infectious diseases resulting in significant mortality rates among children under the age of five in Indonesia. In 2020, East Java recorded the most significant incidence of pneumonia among children under the age of five, with a total of 76,929 cases. Modelling pneumonia cases might be employed to ascertain the factors affecting it. The pneumonia case data in Indonesia exhibits overdispersion, indicating that the appropriate model to utilize is Negative Binomial regression. This study employed the Geographically Weighted Negative Binomial Regression (GWNBR) model to analyze the distribution of pneumonia cases among children in Indonesia, which exhibited different characteristics and data variety. The modelling results indicated that using adaptive bisquare kernel weighting identified five different groups. These groups were determined based on the predictor variables that significantly affected the number of pneumonia cases among children under the age of five in Indonesia.

Abstract

Mathematics lessons playing important roles in problem-solving skills. Problem-solving skills can be measured from students' mastery of concepts which is the result of learning activities to understand objects through observation and experience. This research aimed to prove the influence of using the Magic Cards educational game media, learning motivation, self-confidence, and the interaction between learning motivation and self-confidence on mastery of concepts in Mathematics. Data collection was carried out by using written tests and questionnaires. The cluster random sampling was used to obtain the research subjects. The samples of this study were two learning groups consisted of 61 grade II primary pupils in VLD, East Jakarta. This study applied two sorts of design, namely experimental and correlational with a quantitative approach. The data analysis in this research is descriptive and inferential - using multiple linear regression. The results of the study showed that the use of the Magic Cards as an educational game media had positive effects on concept mastery. Learning motivation and self-confidence also had positive effects on concept mastery. However, no interaction effects between learning motivation and self-confidence on concept mastery in Mathematics learning for grade II pupils of private primary schools in East Jakarta.

Abstract

The government issued Law Number 22 of 1997 replaced by Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Drugs to prevent the adverse effects of drugs. However, the Drug Law has not been able to prevent the increase in drug abuse, especially at the high school level. Dalihan na tolu character education is considered to have a significant effect on preventing drug abuse. The purpose of the study was to find out how the influence of dalihan na tolu character education on drug abuse prevention. The type of research conducted is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The research instrument uses questionnaires. The results of the study stated that Dalihan Na Tolu Character Education had a positive and significant effect on the Prevention of Drug Abuse in students of SMA Negeri 4 Padangsidimpua Town. If dalihan an tolu character education is improved, drug abuse prevention will increase in SMA Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan Town.
