Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to present a comprehensive overview of the influence of the Operational Curriculum of Educational Units and teacher competencies on Student Character through the Pancasila Student Profile in State Elementary Schools in the Cibeunying Kidul District of Bandung City. The method used is inferential, involving 47 teachers from State Elementary Schools in Bandung City as the research sample. Data processing was conducted using Smart PLS 4 Software. The main findings of the study indicate that the Operational Curriculum of Educational Units does not influence student character, while teacher competencies significantly influence student character. Furthermore, the Operational Curriculum of Educational Units does not affect the Pancasila Student Profile, whereas teacher competencies have a significant effect on the Pancasila Student Profile. The Pancasila Student Profile does not influence student character. Moreover, the Operational Curriculum of Educational Units' influence on student character through the Pancasila Student Profile and teacher competencies' influence on student character through the Pancasila Student Profile have no effect. Finally, there is an influence of the Operational Curriculum of Educational Units, teacher competencies, and the Pancasila Student Profile simultaneously on student character.

Abstract

This study investigates the disparities in students' mathematical learning achievements when using the Flat-Side Building material in conjunction with the PjBL model compared to students who use the DI model. This study employs an experimental research approach utilizing a post-test-only control group design. The participants in this study consisted of two groups: an experimental group, comprising 25 students from class VIII-C, and a control group, comprising 24 students from class VIII-B at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano for the academic year 2023/2024. The selection of participants was done randomly from the two classes. The post-test research yielded an average score of 79.44 for the experimental class and 75.0208 for the control class. The hypothesis test analysis results indicate that the value of tcount is 2.302 and the value of ttable is 1.678. Since the value of tcount is greater than the value of ttable, we can infer that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. This study determines that there is a discernible disparity in student learning outcomes when the subject of Building Flat Side Spaces is taught utilizing the Project-based Learning (PjBL) model as opposed to the Direct Instruction (DI) model in the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 3 Tondano.

Abstract

I Learning Management Systems (LMS), which have expedited the transition from in-person instruction to online learning, are the only foundational component of the learning system. This study aims to examine lecturers' views about social interaction, output, e-learning framework, and e-learning. LSM-using lecturers made up the sample. Data were gathered using a semi-structured interview instrument, and analysis was performed using the objective analysis approach. The results imply that professors can benefit from using Blackboard to help with distance learning. This distance learning can be enhanced by using synergy between electronic and traditional systems and by continuing to learn through electronic platforms.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe learning strategies during the Covid-19 pandemic, at MA Al Hamid, East Jakarta. This qualitative research uses a case study type. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is Miles and Huberman interactive analysis and data validity testing techniques using the triangulation method. The research results show that to ensure the continuity of the teaching and learning process during the pandemic, madrasas need to develop new learning strategies that are effective and efficient to achieve learning goals and objectives. The results of research on learning strategies during the pandemic include five management functions: (1) Planning, starting from socialization, training, technology adaptation, preparing madrasa policies related to the learning process, preparing online lesson plans; (2) Organizing, namely arranging the implementation of learning, by arranging online schedules and limited face-to-face methods (TTM); (3) Actuating, namely the process of implementing learning that has been designed, namely online, and limited face-to-face; (4) Controlling, a monitoring system from madrasah supervisors and parents, and (5) Evaluating, namely the online evaluation and assessment process using the El-Mantab application, Google Form and Whatsapp for accurate and objective documentation of learning results. The implications of the findings of this research should be input and consideration for the government in determining education policies during a pandemic or disaster

Abstract

This research aims to develop speaking materials for tenth graders at Hidayatus Salam High School using the ADDIE model, which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The steps were needs analysis, material development, expert and teacher validation, revision, evaluation, and final product creation. Data collection instruments included questionnaires and interviews for needs analysis, and observation checklists, field notes, and additional questionnaires for evaluation. After developing the materials, they were validated by experts and the English teacher, followed by an evaluation involving all tenth graders and the English teacher. The evaluation showed that students were actively engaged during the learning process, although some faced challenges with pronunciation, understanding meaning, and confidence in speaking. The research produced an English teacher's book and a student's book. The materials of these two books consist of audio vocabulary building along with transcripts that can be accessed through barcodes, use British accents, raise the theme of local wisdom in Gresik, and use a Task-Based learning approach to increase student activeness in speaking in the classroom. The product developed is based on the needs, interests, and ability levels of students in English.

Abstract

Character education has its own uniqueness when applied in the context of shipping cadet education. Sailing cadets are those who are undergoing education to become reliable sailors or sailors. In this profession, it requires not only technical expertise in navigation and ship operations, but also a strong character to face challenges in an often harsh and dangerous maritime environment. Qualitative method with case study is a suitable research approach to investigate the implementation of character education in the formation of shipping cadets. Through this method, research will be conducted in depth to understand how character education is integrated in curriculum and daily practice in specific shipping schools. In this context, research shows that there is a need to strengthen the integration of character education in the cruise education curriculum to ensure that character values and principles are not only taught separately, but also integrated in every aspect of cadet learning and experience. This can be done through the development of more holistic and well-rounded programs, as well as through training for cruise school faculty and staff to understand how to best integrate character education into their teaching. Studies show that cadets consider strong character important in the maritime profession. However, there are variations in their views on the effectiveness of character education in cruise schools. There needs to be stronger integration between character education and technical curriculum, as well as training for shipping school teachers and staff. The findings of this study provide the basis for the development of more effective strategies in improving the integration of character education in cruise schools.
