Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of work stress, communication, and workability on lecturer performance in Islamic higher education institutions, with job satisfaction as a mediator, and to identify the reciprocal relationship between these factors to improve lecturer performance. This study uses a quantitative design with a correlational approach. Data were collected through a survey involving 100 lecturers, who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using multiple regression analysis via SmartPLS software. The study’s findings indicate that work stress does not have a direct impact on job satisfaction (T-statistic = 0.518), but it does negatively affect lecturer performance (T-statistic = 4.573). Communication is proven to have a significant effect on job satisfaction (T-statistic = 3.172) and lecturer performance (T-statistic = 2.203). Workability also has a positive impact on job satisfaction (T-statistic = 2.210) and lecturer performance (T-statistic = 3.511). Job satisfaction shows a positive influence on lecturer performance (T-statistic = 3.811). This study highlights the importance of educational institutions in managing work stress, enhancing communication between lecturers, and providing training that can improve lecturers’ work ability and job satisfaction as a strategy to enhance their performance.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of teaching quality, campus facilities, and student engagement on academic performance and the moderating role of student engagement in the relationship. Data were collected through a survey of 185 students and analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results showed that teaching quality and student engagement positively and significantly influenced academic performance, while campus facilities did not have a considerable effect. Student engagement did not moderate the relationship between teaching quality and campus facilities on academic performance. This model explained 68.4% of the variation in academic performance and had good prediction. These findings emphasize the importance of teaching quality and student engagement to improve academic performance, while campus facilities have limited influence. The practical implication of this study is the importance of focusing on improving teaching quality and student engagement to improve academic performance. Educational institutions are advised to implement interactive and project-based learning. Although campus facilities are essential, their influence on academic performance is limited.

Abstract

The transformation of global education demands the adaptability of teachers, but their adaptive readiness gap affects the quality of learning. The urgency of understanding the quantitative factors driving the adaptive performance of teachers is crucial in the midst of curriculum changes and the integration of digital technology, especially in Indonesia. This quantitative research uses a survey design with path analysis. Data from 122 A-accredited high school civil servant teachers in Bogor were collected via a valid and reliable questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics 21, which included tests for normality, homogeneity, and direct and mediated hypothesis testing (Sobel test). It was found that personality and job satisfaction have a direct impact on teachers’ adaptive performance. Organizational culture does not have a direct effect, but it does significantly affect job satisfaction, which in turn mediates its influence on adaptive performance. Job satisfaction also mediates the relationship between personality and adaptive performance. Theoretically, this study enriches the adaptive work behavior model by confirming the mediating role of job satisfaction, addressing the inconsistencies of the literature. The strategic implication is the need for policies to strengthen a work culture that supports satisfaction as a path to adaptive performance.

Abstract

This study examines innovative management in entrepreneurship education that integrates Islamic values with environmental sustainability in Islamic schools. The primary focus of this research is active collaboration between Islamic schools and external partners as a strategy to build a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem. Using a qualitative approach with a case study, data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using a thematic analysis approach to identify patterns within the data. The results indicate that through instilling the values of khalifah fil ardh (vicegerent) and hifdzul bi'ah (leadership), utilizing local waste as production materials, integrating the curriculum, extracurricular activities, and external collaboration, the Islamic school successfully created a holistic entrepreneurial ecosystem. This innovation significantly increased students' independence, skills, and systematic thinking, while strengthening the role of teachers as facilitators and mentors. The implications of this research demonstrate the importance of integrating Islamic values and environmental sustainability in entrepreneurship education in Islamic schools. This holistic approach can serve as a model for other Islamic schools in building independent entrepreneurial ecosystems while strengthening the role of teachers as facilitators in creating an innovative and responsible generation.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to identify the type of School-Based Management (SBM) model implemented at Junior high schools, examine how environmental factors influence the implementation process, and evaluate the impact of SBM. This research focuses on the importance of policymakers' involvement and non-academic achievements, which remain underexplored. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, document analysis, and questionnaires. The study reveals three key findings. SBM was implemented through strategic planning that was aligned with national regulations and tailored to the school’s specific needs. Transformational leadership and participatory decision-making were central to fostering a collaborative school environment. The performance of the principal, teachers, and school committee contributed to achievements in both academic and non-academic domains, such as science olympiads, arts competitions, and sports tournaments. These findings suggest that integrating structured planning, inclusive leadership, and community participation enhances the overall quality of education. The research contributes to the discourse on effective SBM practices in urban schools and recommends the broader adoption of participatory and context-responsive strategies to support improvements in education quality.

Abstract

The study examined the dynamic interactions between challenge stressors, social support, self-efficacy, and creativity among international students in Denmark, a population that is vulnerable to academic and work stress. This research aims to understand how protective factors can mitigate stress and drive innovation in a complex global education environment. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through a survey of more than 400 international students at Danish higher education institutions. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test hypothetical relationships. Key findings suggest that stressors, challenges, and social support significantly improve self-efficacy. Furthermore, self-efficacy, challenge stressors, and social support directly contribute positively to creativity. Crucially, self-efficacy has been shown to mediate the relationship between challenge stressors and creativity, as well as between social support and creativity. These results underscore the importance of self-efficacy as a key mechanism that converts pressure and support into creative outcomes. The theoretical implication is the integration of psychological constructs in education management. At the same time, these findings suggest strategies for universities to create an environment that supports student well-being and creativity.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of women’s transformational leadership in enhancing educational quality at the International Islamic School. The study examines how female leadership, grounded in transformational principles, fosters both academic excellence and the integration of Islamic values in education. Despite the increasing presence of women in leadership roles, there is limited research on how their leadership styles impact educational outcomes in Islamic institutions. Utilizing a qualitative approach, this case study analyzes interviews, document reviews, and literature-based case studies with Thematic analysis. The findings reveal that women’s transformational leadership has a positive impact on educational quality by fostering a vision of academic and moral development, engaging stakeholders, and overcoming gender barriers. The leadership promotes an inclusive environment, encourages professional growth, and ensures the integration of Islamic values into modern curricula. The study contributes valuable insights into the intersection of leadership, gender, and education in Islamic contexts, offering recommendations for promoting transformational leadership among women in educational institutions. This research highlights the importance of adopting leadership practices that strike a balance between academic rigor and religious principles in faith-based schools.

Abstract

Transformational leadership, affective commitment, and performance play critical roles in enhancing academic excellence in higher education. This study investigates the direct and indirect effects of transformational leadership on lecturer performance in Islamic higher education institutions, with affective commitment as a mediating variable. Specifically, it explores the impact of four leadership dimensions: ideal/charismatic influence, inspirational motivation, individual consideration, and intellectual stimulation. Using a quantitative survey method, data were collected from 148 certified lecturers through a structured questionnaire. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) and path analysis were employed, yielding an acceptable model fit (CFI > 0.9, RMSEA < 0.08). Results indicate a significant positive relationship between transformational leadership and lecturer performance, both directly and through the mediating effect of affective commitment. Among the leadership dimensions, inspirational motivation and individual consideration had the most decisive influence on affective commitment. This research provides empirical evidence of the effectiveness of transformational leadership in improving lecturer performance and offers insights for leadership development in academic institutions. Future studies are encouraged to expand the scope, employ mixed methods, and investigate additional variables to further deepen the understanding of these relationships.

Abstract

Principals, as leaders and managers, often undergo rotation and transfer to maintain organizational efficiency. Although the impact of principal turnover on teachers and education staff has been extensively researched, the effect of rotation and transfer on principals remains largely unknown. This study aims to investigate the direct and indirect impacts experienced by principals, particularly in terms of their psychological aspects and leadership competencies. This study used a qualitative case study approach. Data collection methods included in-depth interviews and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that principal rotation and transfer have a positive impact on the principal's psychological well-being and competency. Psychological impacts include increased motivation and work enthusiasm, which in turn improve work quality. Meanwhile, competency impacts include improvements and positive developments in four principal competencies: personality, managerial, supervisory, and social competencies. The implications of this study suggest that principal rotation and transfer can be an effective leadership development strategy to improve the quality of education in schools. Furthermore, it is important to consider psychological aspects and competencies in every decision regarding principal turnover.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Human Resource Management (HRM) in Islamic schools and its impact on educational quality. It aims to identify key factors influencing the effectiveness of HRM and assess its effect on educator performance and learning outcomes. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that HRM is implemented strategically through precise planning, a focus on pedagogical and technological competencies, methodological alignment with Ministry of Religious Affairs guidelines, and the provision of adequate facilities. Most educators have postgraduate qualifications, and some are pursuing doctoral studies. Continuous evaluation, regular training, and an active pesantren-based learning culture foster a dynamic educational environment. The study concludes that well-structured HRM has a significant impact on improving educator performance and overall academic quality. The findings, as a scholarly contribution, offer valuable insights for faith-based educational institutions seeking to strengthen their HRM practices to improve learning outcomes.
