Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the success of Shopee's digital communication strategy in responding to the lifestyle of urban Muslims in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative approach. The data sources used in this study are documents and information related to Shopee's digital communication strategy, such as advertising campaigns, promotional materials, and company publications. In addition, secondary data obtained from literature studies and previous research relevant to the research topic are also used. The data collection techniques used in this study were literature studies and library research. Data analysis is done by digging deeply into the information in related documents and literature. Based on the discussion points, this study concludes that Shopee's communication strategy has proven to be very relevant and effective in influencing Indonesia's urban Muslim middle class. By considering the cultural elements, religious values, and online behavior typical of this demographic, Shopee created strong relationships with Muslim consumers, increased engagement, and strengthened its brand image as an e-commerce platform responsive to cultural needs and preferences. The communication theories identified, such as symbolic interaction theory and cultural approaches in organizational communication, can provide valuable insights into how Shopee understands and responds to the social and cultural dynamics of the Muslim middle class. By paying attention to these factors, Shopee can continue to develop communication strategies that are more effective and relevant in meeting the needs and desires of Muslim consumers.

Abstract

Sexual violence has captured the attention of many people these days. Not only because the numbers tend to increase during the Covid-19 pandemic but also because of the locus. The problem answered in this research is what Twitter users' sentiments are about sexual violence and what Fairclough's analysis of this is. The criteria for the data to be retrieved are tweets with filters: tweets with Indonesian, having the keyword "Sexual Violence," with upload from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021. The sexual violence data was analyzed sentiment to determine the response of Twitter users to the issue of sexual violence, which involved the use of Natural Language Processing. Methods to interpret emotions and topic modeling analysis with Machine Learning algorithms to keywords of sexual violence. Data analysis in this study uses the sentiment analysis method, namely the meaning of text with the rules of the netnographic approach, which was then sharpened by Fairclough's critical discourse analysis. Based on the data, the emotions of Twitter users are anger (31.1%), sadness (29.4%), happiness (18.6%), love (14.7%), and fear (6.2%). The polarity that reflects Twitter's attitude toward Sexual Violence appears in the word "Victim," while sentiment that reflects anger and fear appears in the word "Act(s)." It can be concluded that Twitter users empathize with victims who should get protection and attention. Sentiment analysis regarding sexual violence on Twitter not only reveals individual feelings and opinions but also reflects and influences the power structure and ideology in society. These findings reveal the importance and contribution of tweets on Twitter to stimulate social movement and support the formation of regulations that can provide security, especially for children and women.

Abstract

This study confirms the inseparability of religious issues from the world. The migration of thugs to the Laskar is a matter of guidance and an opportunity to control resources. The phenomenon of Laskar legitimizing the termination of motor vehicle loans on the grounds of fighting usury and considering their actions correct has added to the study of the migration of former thugs. This phenomenon is studied using qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. In-depth interviews took data from people involved in this activity. Data was also collected by observing sales activities or the behavior of buyers of bad credit motorbikes. Apart from that, researchers used documents from various books and journals that studied the migration of former thugs; the data was then analyzed using interactive techniques. This study shows that the authority of classical religion has diminished for former thugs, who have had the opportunity to directly access data from the internet and then draw their conclusions. This study also explains that economic factors have a significant role in changing a person's identity, so hijrah is not just a matter of guidance but economic control.

Abstract

The coastal area of Sepahat village is known for its beach and mangrove ecotourism and is one of the priorities for tourism development in Bengkalis Regency. Institutional performance in developing the tourism sector and the creative economy is not yet optimal, characterized by a lack of membership management skills, formulating plans, overcoming problems and developing networks. In fact, tourism institutions and the creative economy are at the heart of optimizing existing potential. The aim of this research is to identify and analyze actor mapping and power relations between actors in the development of the Sepahat tourist village. The research results are expected to provide benefits from the academic side, namely in the form of textbooks and reference books related to the sociology of community empowerment, sustainable development and local wisdom. The realization of academic benefits is also carried out through publication of manuscripts in accredited journals so that they can provide references to various parties. The results of this research will produce and map actor interests, status, roles and relationships between actors which can be used as a mitigation document for institutional management to optimize the benefits of the Sepahat Tourism Village for the community.

Abstract

This study explores the practice of interfaith figure communication in efforts to build religious harmony among the community in North Labuhanbatu Regency. This research is a field study with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, group discussions, and documentation. The subjects include religious figures, community leaders, and government officials in North Labuhanbatu Regency. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, with stages of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results show that interfaith communication among religious figures in Labuhanbatu Utara is based on Islamic principles that respect human values and build harmony. This communication is crucial for strengthening social interactions and achieving common goals in creating sustainable harmony. Religious figures in the FKUB (Forum Komunikasi Umat Beragama) of Labuhanbatu Utara play a role in preventing religious conflicts through dialogue and coordination with local government. Barriers to building harmony among religious communities in Labuhanbatu Utara include distorted information and fake news on social media. The role of the internet and social media has changed how people obtain religious information, making religious figures more involved in politics and facing various challenges.

Abstract

Discipline is one of the important ways to succedd. Dayah Integrated Jami'ah Azzanjabil alumni bind their students with strong discipline to achieve success. Many students violate Dayah's rules, even though it has implemented the rules and even gives rewards to students who excel and punishment to students who violate student discipline. This is the background of the problem that motivates researchers to conduct this topic. It aims to determine the mechanisms and obstacles to enforcing student discipline regarding the provision of rewards and punishments at Dayah Terpadu Jami'ah Azzanjabil. It employed qualitative research. This research wa conducted at Dayah Terpadu Jami'ah Azzanjabil, located in Buket Teukueh Village, Kota Juang District, Bireun Regency, Aceh Province. Data collection techniques were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis method used in this research was the descriptive data analysis method. It included the preparation stage, data grouping stage, and conclusion. It is found that the mechanism for enforcing student discipline regarding the provision of rewards and punishment in Dayah Terpadu Jami'ah Azzanjabil is, Firstly, by implementing discipline by starting with force until the students get used to carrying out the discipline until they finally enjoy the existing discipline. Second, Form the Dayah Azzanjabil Santri Organization (OSDA) administrators and guide them in preparing programs to help carry out discipline in the Integrated Dayah Jami'ah Azzanjabil with the help of their monitoring. The conclusion of this research is to apply discipline by starting with force until the students get used to carrying out the discipline until they finally enjoy the existing discipline, forming administrators of the Dayah Azzanjabil Santri Organization (OSDA), enforcing disciplines such as worship, time, study, practice, cleanliness, and kindness.

Abstract

Research on the center of Islamic da'wah in Adikarto during the early 20th century, particularly in Glaheng and Sewugalur, is necessary as there is a shortage of historiographic studies dedicated to this topic. The primary objective for conducting this research is to elucidate the pivotal role of the Glaheng and Sewugalur communities in da'wah efforts to propel Islamic teachings and movements in Adikarto up to Indonesia's independence period. This investigation is crucial to enhance the historiography of Islamic societies' social activism in advancing teachings and religious movements. The study utilized the historical research method, employing Max Weber's religious relations approach. The findings reveal Glaheng and Sewugalur as pivotal centers of Islamic preaching in Adikarto, influenced by religious connections with the industrial economy. Furthermore, da'wah efforts in Glaheng and Sewugalur were undertaken to ensure that the religious significance of the Islamic community in Adikarto was not marginalized amidst the onset of modernity. Abstract

This study examines gender equality and the principles of Islamic teachings in the TV drama series Para Pencari Tuhan. The purpose of this study is to outline how the drama series' plots and visuals portray Islam and gender narratives. The Social Construction Theory of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann, and theory of Gender Injustice of Mansour Fakih's serve as the foundational framework. Based on Muhammad Quraish Shihab's main concepts of Islamic teachings, the three primary principles of Islam are: aqidah, or belief; sharia, or experience of legal requirements; and akhlaq, or manners. This qualitative study used Norman Fairclough's discourse analysis approach, while data collection techniques were carried out by watching thirty episodes of the TV drama series Para Pencari Tuhan season 16 three times and interviewing the production team and correlated informants. The results of this research show that the basic values of Islamic teachings are conveyed through the narrative elements (storyline) and cinematic elements (setting, audio and appearance of the characters) of the series. Meanwhile, gender equality is shown through female characters who experience injustice. It is also shown that Women actually have potential and qualities that are no less than men. Mass media, including TV drama series, can be a means of conveying positive da'wah messages about Islam and gender equality. Until now, television is still an alternative media besides the internet, for people who want to find entertainment.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of TikTok in Anies Baswedan's political campaign leading up to the 2024 presidential election. Employing a content analysis research method, the study focuses on innovative campaign messages and public interaction on the TikTok platform. The findings indicate robust community involvement and positive support, contributing to the enhancement of Anies' reputation. Strong branding was achieved through innovative campaign techniques, including the phrase “AMEN” and visual symbols such as white clothing and the one-finger gesture. This research underscores the significance of social media in contemporary Indonesian politics by demonstrating how TikTok shapes public perceptions of Anies Baswedan. By using TikTok as a central point of analysis, the study concludes that the platform has emerged as a crucial tool for innovative political communication and the cultivation of the public personas of future leaders.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal how Ma'had Aly formulated various strategies to strengthen religious moderation among his students. Ma'had Aly is a pesantren higher education that is prepared to produce pesantren cadres. The focus of his education was the study of the yellow book and the texts of classical Islamic scholars. In addition to studying, Ma'had Aly students have the task of helping kyai guide the daily activities of students at Islamic boarding schools. Their high intensity with students can have implications for the religious views of students in Islamic boarding schools so that students are required to have a moderate religious understanding. This research uses qualitative methods in the form of field research by focusing data mining on curriculum, extracurricular and literacy sources of Ma'had Aly. The data was then measured based on four concepts of religious moderation by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results showed that Ma'had Aly Attaqwa KH. Noer Alie can be categorized as moderate by making national commitment as the main strategy to strengthen religious moderation. The results also show that the practice of Pancasila, love of the Republic of Indonesia and the practice of patriotic values have been instilled from the beginning by KH. Noer Alie, the founder of Ma'had Aly Attaqwa, was also a freedom fighter and was awarded as a national hero in Indonesia.
