Abstract

This study aims to analyze the insurance claim procedures provided by Grab for its driver partners in managing accidents and medical expenses. The focus of this research is to understand the actual procedure for filing claims, the obstacles encountered, and how this procedure helps drivers cope with the financial impact of accidents. A qualitative approach was used through in-depth interviews with several driver partners who have filed insurance claims. The findings show that although Grab's claim procedure is designed to be completed within a minimum of 1x24 hours with complete data, in reality, the process is often delayed due to additional requirements and inconsistencies in designated referral hospitals. These issues hinder the smooth handling of claims. Based on these findings, it is recommended that Grab improve socialization about the claim procedure, simplify the required documents, and reevaluate the referral system to ensure faster claim settlements. This research is expected to contribute to improving the effectiveness and practicality of insurance claim procedures for Grab driver partners in the ride-hailing industry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Effect of ESG Disclosure and Financial Performance on Firm Value (Companies in the Food and Beverage Sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange). This research covers a four-year period, specifically from 2020 to 2023. The research methodology employed is a quantitative method using panel data and secondary data obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange website and company websites. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with data from 2020 to 2023. Data analysis is conducted through multiple linear regression by performing descriptive statistical tests, classical assumption tests (multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity tests), and hypothesis testing using t-statistics and f-statistics to assess the significance of effects collectively at a 5% significance level. The results of this study indicate that, partially, the variables ESG Disclosure and Return On Assets have a positive and significant effect on Firm Value, while the Return On Equity variable has a negative and significant effect on Firm Value. The Net Profit Margin and Leverage variables, however, show no significant effect on Firm Value. Meanwhile, simultaneously, the independent variables ESG Disclosure, Net Profit Margin, Return On Assets, Return On Equity, and Leverage have a significant effect on Firm Value. The coefficient of determination from this study is 96.1191%, indicating that variations in the independent variables ESG Disclosure, Net Profit Margin, Return On Assets, Return On Equity, and Leverage can explain 96.1191% of the changes in the Firm Value variable, while the remaining 3.8809% is influenced by other independent variables.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of live streaming and online customer reviews on purchasing decisions of Skintific products on Shopee. Live streaming is an interactive feature that allows sellers to showcase and promote products in real time, enabling potential buyers to ask questions and receive immediate responses. This feature creates a sense of engagement and trust, which can significantly impact consumer interest and buying behavior. On the other hand, online customer reviews serve as a form of electronic word-of-mouth, where the experiences and opinions of previous consumers can shape the perceptions and decisions of prospective buyers. These reviews provide insights into product quality, effectiveness, and overall satisfaction, which are essential factors in the decision-making process. This research adopts a quantitative approach using a survey method, with data collected from 90 respondents who have both watched live streaming and read reviews related to Skintific products on Shopee. The questionnaire was developed using a Likert scale to measure perceptions across key indicators. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling approach, targeting individuals who meet specific criteria relevant to the study. Data analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with the help of SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that both live streaming and online customer reviews have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. These findings suggest that businesses should strategically optimize their live streaming content and actively encourage positive customer reviews in order to enhance consumer trust and drive product sales.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the syncretic dynamics between religious teachings and customary values in the Marsodip tradition, a cultural heritage of the Pak Pak ethnic community in Sitellu Tali Urang Jehe Subdistrict, Pak Pak Bharat Regency. The Marsodip tradition reflects the community’s effort to preserve cultural identity amid the challenges of modernization and shifting religious values. Using a qualitative approach and ethnographic method, data were collected through participant observation and in-depth interviews with 3 key informants, including traditional leaders, religious figures, and community members involved in the tradition. The findings reveal a strong form of syncretism, where customary and religious values do not negate one another but engage in a dynamic interaction through processes of adaptation and negotiation. The syncretic strategies developed by the community include symbolic modifications in rituals, reinterpretation of customary values through religious perspectives, and the involvement of religious leaders in the implementation of traditions. This study shows that Marsodip serves not only as cultural preservation but also as a space for active dialogue between tradition and religion in the context of social change. The research contributes to the discourse on cultural and religious syncretism in traditional Indonesian societies

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic Social Capital and Islamic Financial Behavior on the welfare of fishermen in Perupuk Village, Batu Bara Regency. This is a quantitative study using associative analysis. The sampling technique used is the saturated sample method, in which the entire population is used as research respondents. In this study, the population consisted of 95 fishermen, all of whom were included as the research sample. The data analysis techniques used include validity and reliability test, classical assumption test, and multiple linier regression analysis to examine the influence of the dependent variable. The result show that: 1) Islamic social capital and Islamic financial behavior have a significant influence, both partially and simultaneously, on the welfare of fishermen, indicating that social relationships, participation in religious activities, and the application of Islamic financial principles can improve the well-being of fishermen. 2) the influence of Islamic social capital reflects strong ukhuwah (brotherhood) and social solidarity among fishermen. Meanwhile, Islamic financial behavior reflects an awareness of sharia-based financial management. This indicates that Islamic values, when implemented in social life and financial behavior, make a tangible contribution to improving the welfare of fishermen. This study suggest that Islamic social capital and Islamic financial behavior play an important role in enhacing fishermen’s welfare. Therefore, policies that strengthen social networks and improve financial literacy and access to Islamic financial services for fishermen are needed.

The study employs an associative methodology, employing purposive sampling to collect data from 100 participants who have purchased items from Roti Laris 18. The study used SPSS 25 software to do multiple linear regression and tests for validity, reliability, normalcy, linearity, and multicollinearity. The hypothesis testing incorporated both simultaneous testing (F-test) and partial testing (T-test). This study's findings indicate that product quality, brand image, and price significantly and positively influence customer buying choices, both collectively and independently. The statistics demonstrate that product quality significantly affects purchase intentions, although brand image and pricing both favorably impact customer decisions. The study's results correspond with current research, indicating that when companies synchronize product quality, brand image, and price tactics, they are more likely to affect purchase patterns and enhance market share. This study offers significant insights for Roti Laris 18 to enhance their marketing efforts. It is advised that the firm persist in prioritizing product quality, enhance its brand image, and maintain competitive pricing to sustain its competitiveness in the swiftly changing baking industry. Future studies may investigate the influence of advertising methods and customer behavior on decision-making in the food business.
