Abstract

This study aims to analyze the leadership model of Dedi Iskandar Batubara at the North Sumatra Regional Board of Al-Washliyah, characterized by an accelerative and transformative vision within the framework of Islamic political thought. Employing a qualitative case study methodology, data were collected through in-depth interviews with the research subject and key informants. The findings indicate that Batubara’s leadership is grounded in a spiritual philosophy that construes his position as a sacred trust (amanah) and an act of worship (ibadah), compelling him to drive innovation and systematic improvements. His leadership model is democratic, transparent, and humanistic, consistently implementing Islamic political principles such as consultation (syura) and trustworthiness (amanah) in all decision-making and organizational management processes. He has also successfully addressed internal challenges, including political diversity and intergenerational dynamics, by upholding the principle of independence and prioritizing cadre regeneration. This accelerative and transformative vision has not only yielded significant advancements in the fields of Islamic propagation (da’wah), education, and asset management but has also enhanced Al-Washliyah’s public credibility. This study concludes that Dedi Iskandar Batubara’s leadership exemplifies an effective model of how a leader can balance Islamic idealism with the demands of modernity to ensure the organization’s sustainability and relevance in the contemporary era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of education based on the principal's managerial system in an effort to improve the quality of education in elementary schools. The method used is a literature study, which examines various sources related to the functions, duties, and responsibilities of the principal, as well as the managerial skills needed. The function of the principal as an educational leader is very crucial in creating a conducive learning environment. His duties and responsibilities include planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs. In addition, the principal's managerial skills are divided into four categories: conceptual skills that enable the principal to formulate an educational vision and mission; administrative skills that support resource management; human skills that are important in building interpersonal relationships; and technical skills needed to implement educational policies effectively. The results of this study indicate that good mastery of managerial skills by the principal contributes significantly to improving the quality of education in elementary schools. This study is expected to provide insight for policy makers and education practitioners in optimizing the role of the principal in educational management. This study also highlights the importance of training and professional development for principals to improve their managerial skills. With the right training, principals can be more effective in carrying out their functions and responsibilities, and are able to face the challenges that arise in the world of education. In addition, collaboration between principals and teachers, parents, and the community is also a key factor in creating a quality education ecosystem. Through a good managerial approach, it is hoped that elementary schools can achieve higher education goals and produce graduates who are ready to face future challenges. This study provides recommendations for the development of training programs that focus on improving the managerial skills of principals as a strategic step in improving the quality of education at the elementary level.

Abstract

Indonesia's vast waters make maritime law enforcement an important aspect in maintaining national sovereignty and security. Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) helicopters have a strategic role in maritime surveillance operations with the ability to detect illegal activities faster than patrol boats. However, to date, the authority of helicopter pilots in direct legal intervention is still limited, so that the effectiveness of operations is often hampered. In addition, the lack of coordination with patrol boats, limited fleet size, and minimal support for sophisticated technology are the main obstacles that reduce the efficiency of maritime law enforcement. This study aims to analyze the authority of TNI AL helicopter pilots in maritime law enforcement, identify the obstacles faced, and provide recommendations to improve the effectiveness of maritime operations. The research method used is a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with five respondents, consisting of two TNI AL helicopter pilots, one operational officer, one maritime law expert, and one maritime defense analyst. In addition, operational observations were conducted to understand the real challenges in the field. The results of the study show that helicopter pilots only have a role as a supervisory element without the legal authority to stop or inspect ships. The main obstacles to operational effectiveness are the absence of clear regulations regarding the legal role of helicopter pilots, suboptimal coordination with patrol vessels, limited aerial monitoring technology, and the small number of helicopters in operation. To overcome these problems, regulatory revisions are needed to clarify the authority of helicopter pilots in law enforcement operations, modernization of communication and navigation systems to improve coordination with maritime elements, and the addition of the helicopter fleet to expand the scope of maritime surveillance. With these strategic steps, it is hoped that the effectiveness of maritime law enforcement operations can increase significantly, so that the security and sovereignty of Indonesian waters can be better maintained

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of product quality, service quality, and price on purchase decisions, with consumer trust acting as an intervening variable at PT. Freya Frist Indonusa Medan. The independent variables in this study include Product Quality (X1), Service Quality (X2), and Price (X3), while the dependent variable is Purchase Decision (Y), with Consumer Trust (Z) as the mediating factor. A quantitative approach is employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as questionnaires and direct observations to gather responses from consumers. The study population comprises 225 consumers, and by applying Slovin’s formula with a significance level of 0.05, a representative sample of 144 respondents was selected. The collected data is then analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method, facilitated by SmartPLS software, to examine the relationships between variables and test the proposed hypotheses. The findings reveal that Product Quality (X1) has a significant positive effect on Consumer Trust (Z), indicating that higher product quality enhances consumer confidence in the brand. Similarly, Service Quality (X2) also positively influences Consumer Trust (Z), suggesting that superior service contributes to higher levels of trust. Additionally, Price (X3) positively impacts Purchase Decision (Y), showing that competitive pricing strategies influence consumer choices. These results highlight the importance of maintaining high product and service quality while setting reasonable prices to strengthen consumer trust, ultimately leading to better purchase decisions and increased customer satisfaction at PT. Abstract

This study analyzed the factors influencing the political preferences of Generation Z (Gen-Z) voters in the 2024 Regent Election (Pilkada) of Southeast Aceh. Employing a qualitative approach through an intrinsic case study, the research explored the subjective experiences and socio-political dynamics of Gen-Z in shaping their political choices. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and digital documentation involving 30 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The findings revealed that Gen-Z’s political preferences were shaped by issue-based rationality, candidate capability, and perceptions of personal branding and leadership integrity. Social media platforms—particularly TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube—emerged as the primary channels for political socialization, while local figures such as teachers and religious leaders (ustadz) continued to hold influence within limited social contexts. Challenges to participation included low levels of political literacy, the spread of misinformation, and limited internet access in rural areas. Nonetheless, Gen-Z demonstrated active, selective, and critical engagement with political messages. This study affirmed the relevance of rational choice theory and cognitive domains in explaining young voter behavior and recommended campaign strategies that were educational, value-based, and inclusive of digital generation voices.
