Abstract

Indonesia's defense industry faces significant challenges, including heavy reliance on foreign technologies and inconsistent implementation of policies like Law No. 16 of 2012, which hampers progress toward self-reliance. This study aims to develop a comprehensive framework integrating innovation and risk management to enhance the competitiveness and independence of Indonesia's defense sector. Using a qualitative research design, the study draws on extensive literature reviews and secondary data analysis, comparing Indonesia's defense industry with that of other countries like South Korea and Turkey. The findings reveal that international and domestic strategic collaborations are essential for technology transfer, improving local capabilities, and aligning defense production with national security goals. Investing in high-performance work systems (HPWS) and human capital fosters technological innovation and reduces foreign dependency. The study also identifies the need for a more consistent regulatory framework and long-term investment in research and development (RD) to address supply chain risks and financial constraints. These insights provide practical recommendations for policymakers, emphasizing that sustainable defense industry growth requires a multifaceted approach involving collaboration between government, industry, and research institutions. Ultimately, this research contributes to the strategic roadmap for achieving Indonesia's defense self-sufficiency and competitiveness in the global market.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing Islamic character education values through the Pancasila Rahmatan Lil 'Alamin (P5RA) Student Profile Strengthening Project at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Tebing Tinggi. This research is motivated by the phenomenon of low implementation of Islamic character among students even though the P5RA program has been implemented in various educational institutions. The research used a qualitative approach with phenomenological method. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation of the madrasah head, teachers, homeroom teachers, and students. The results showed that the internalized Islamic values include salimul 'akidah, shalihul 'ibadah, matinul khuluq, munazhzhamun fi syuunihi, and nafi'un lighoirihi. Internalization is carried out through contextual learning strategies, madrasah culture development, and extracurricular activities, with exemplary, habituation, and advice approaches. The main supporting factors for the success of internalization include the commitment of madrasah and parents, a religious environment, and adequate facilities. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include lack of understanding of the P5RA concept, time constraints, low student motivation, and lack of facilities and continuous evaluation. This study emphasizes the importance of collaboration, consistency of strategies, and strengthening evaluation in shaping students' Islamic character holistically and contextually.

Abstract

This research explores the application of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs in analyzing, which is the main character development in the Turning Red movie (2022) and the implications for character education. By analyzing the main character “Meilin Lee’s” psychological growth, this research aims to show how Maslow’s theory can be applied into educational settings, especially in understanding student motivation, identity formation, and the social interactions. By using a qualitative descriptive method, this study conducts the main character analysis through a close examination of the movie’s narrative, dialogues, and character interactions. Every data was collected through repeated observations and thematic analysis, aligning Mei’s experiences with Maslow’s five levels of needs: physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem, and self-actualization. The research findings reveal that this movie reflects the gradual fulfillment of these needs, with significant emphasis on self-acceptance, resilience, and social belonging. Her struggles with family expectations and personal identity illustrate key psychological challenges faced by adolescents. Also, this study suggests that Turning Red can serve as an engaging educational tool for teaching psychological concepts and character development in formal and informal learning environments. The collaboration of movies in educational curricula may enhance students' understanding of their self-growth, emotional intelligence, and social adaptation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of intrinsic motivation and self-efficacy on normative commitment among civil servants at the Ketapang Regency Manpower and Transmigration Office. Data were collected from 33 civil servants through questionnaires and direct interviews with the administrative head. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that intrinsic motivation and self-efficacy simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on normative commitment, with an F-value of 40.874 and significance of 0.000 (0.05). Partially, intrinsic motivation has a significant positive influence with a t-value of 2.633 and significance of 0.009 (0.05), while self-efficacy has a stronger positive influence with a t-value of 3.609 and significance of 0.000 (0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.453 indicates that 45.3% of the variation in normative commitment can be explained by the two independent variables, while the remainder is influenced by factors outside the scope of this study. These results emphasize the importance of intrinsic motivation and self-efficacy in enhancing employees' sense of responsibility and loyalty toward the organization. Therefore, effective human resource management should focus on strengthening these two aspects to improve performance and stability in public organizations.
