Abstract

This research investigates the role of the Mandar language as a seasonal framework that conveys knowledge about maritime time, utilizing an ecolinguistic perspective that encompasses biological, sociological, and ideological aspects. Through in-depth interviews with traditional fishermen from Gili Tapan, Labuhan Sangoro Village, and Ngali Island, combined with documentation of local terms linked to seasons and wind directions, the study reveals that the Mandar lexicon captures extensive ecological knowledge. Key terms like Anging Bara, Anging Timor and Tasi Mare not only describe environmental conditions but also aid in navigation, preserve cultural heritage, and reflect spiritual beliefs. From a biological standpoint, language reveals adaptive strategies aligned with natural cycles, influencing fishing practices and safety. Sociologically, it facilitates the transmission of knowledge across generations, particularly among coastal youth. Ideologically, the Mandar language conveys ecological respect through taboos and phrases that promote harmony with the environment. These linguistic expressions are crucial for maintaining cultural identity and social cohesion while supporting sustainable marine management. wisdom into contemporary sustainability efforts. Abstract

Abstract. This reserach aims to improve the ability to recognize numerical symbols using flash cards in group A children at TK Islahul Ummah. The research was conducted at TK Islahul Ummah, located in Dusun Cupek, Sigar Penjalin Village, Tanjung Subdistrict, North Lombok Regency. The study focused on 23 group A children who were in the process of learning to recognize numerical symbols. This research is a classroom action study using the model developed by Kemmis & Mc.Taggart. Data collection methods included observation, documentation, and testing. The data analysis technique used was descriptive quantitative analysis. The results of the study showed an improvement in the ability to recognize numerical symbols through the use of flash cards among group A children. In the pre-cycle stage, 10 children (43.47%) achieved mastery. This increased in the first cycle, with 15 children (65.21%) achieving mastery. In the second cycle, the results showed a further improvement in the children's ability to recognize numerical symbols. This was evidenced by 20 children achieving the "developing as expected" and "developing very well" categories, with a classical completeness score of 86.95%. The use of flash cards proved effective in enhancing children's ability to recognize numerical symbols.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the research problem related to the self-efficacy of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) students during their teaching internships with technology integration. This research focuses on students perceive their ability to teach English using digital tools and the factors that contribute to the development of their self-efficacy. The aim of research is to explore EFL students' perceptions of self-efficacy and identify key contributing factors. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study design. The participants were six EFL students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Sampit who had completed their Teaching Internship III. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. To ensure the validity of the findings, triangulation was applied by comparing the data. The findings indicate that 67% of participants demonstrated high self-efficacy, reinforced by successful teaching experiences and positive responses from students. Meanwhile, 33% of participants exhibited medium self-efficacy in the classroom or nervousness while teaching. The questionnaire data support these findings. Among the four factors, the most dominant is mastery experience (x̅ = 12.00), followed by verbal persuasion (x̅ = 11.67), vicarious experience (x̅ = 11.33), and the least dominant is emotional and physiological states (x̅ = 11.00).

Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of the SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) learning model with Wordwall support to improve reading comprehension skills in grade 4 elementary school students. The participants in this research were 4th grade students at SDN Rawasari Ciranjang, Cianjur Regency, West Java, consisting of 25 students. The technique used to collect data in this research is the observation method, in the form of teacher and student observation sheets and practical reading comprehension tests. This research can be said to be successful if students' reading aloud skills improve to ≥75 in classical completion or 19 students have completed the KKM (70). The research method used was classroom action research (PTK) Kemmis and Mc Taggart model research design which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, action and observation, and reflection. The data analysis technique used is qualitative. Indicators for reading aloud consist of 1) determining the main idea 2) determining the meaning of words 3) ability to answer questions 4) concluding. Based on the comparative percentage of completeness of learning outcomes for each cycle, there was an increase in initial reading skills after implementing the SQ3R learning model, seen from the results of the percentage of completeness of students who met the pre-cycle KKM (70), namely 36% or 9 students, cycle I was 69% or 14 students, and cycle II was 84% or 21 students. Thus, providing action through these two cycles can improve students' reading comprehension abilities.

Abstract

The issue of character education has become increasingly prominent, especially amidst the current moral crisis. Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) are expected to serve as alternative institutions that can be studied and exemplified in implementing moral and character education. Beyond being a transmitter of knowledge, skills, and values, the kiai (Islamic religious leader) also plays a vital role as a role model for the students (santri). This research employed a descriptive qualitative method, using data collected through interviews, field observations, and document studies. The findings indicate that the kiai plays a significant role in shaping students’ character. The roles and resulting character development include: (1) the kiai as a role model (uswah hasanah), which fosters values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, humility (tawadhu’), patience, and sincerity; (2) as a moral and spiritual educator through sermons, classical Islamic book studies (kitab kuning), and daily interactions; (3) as a guide and caretaker who provides personal attention, encouraging openness and receptiveness among students; (4) as a preserver of Islamic traditions, promoting peaceful, open-minded, and tolerant personalities; (5) as a motivator and inspirator, helping shape strong and resilient character; (6) as a disciplinarian and builder of independence, forming firm, courageous, and self-reliant individuals; and (7) as a cultivator of future leaders—faithful, knowledgeable, noble in character, and ready to contribute to the community and nation.
