Abstract

The interest of male students in choosing Early Childhood Education (PAUD) as their major remains relatively low due to various social and cultural factors. This study aims to identify the factors influencing the low interest of 12th-grade male students in Koto Kampar Hulu District Senior High School in selecting PAUD as their major. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method using semi-structured interviews with 15 male students. The findings indicate that the primary factors affecting the low interest of male students include gender stereotypes that perceive the PAUD teaching profession as more suitable for women, social environmental influences from family, peers, and society, as well as the low level of PAUD teachers' welfare, which is considered insufficient for men as the primary breadwinners. This study concludes that strategies are needed to improve PAUD teachers' welfare, change gender perceptions, and provide clearer career pathways for men in the field of early childhood education.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the effectiveness of Islamic storytelling methods in enhancing the emotional intelligence of early childhood children, particularly those aged 5-6 years at TKIT Al-Adzkiyah Bekasi. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design, this study involves two groups: the experimental group receiving the Islamic storytelling intervention and the control group following the regular curriculum. The intervention is conducted over 8 weeks with storytelling sessions lasting 30 minutes, three times a week. Data is collected through the Child Emotional Intelligence Scale (SKEA) and analyzed using paired t-tests and thematic analysis for qualitative data. The research findings indicate that although there is no statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p = 0.938), the Islamic storytelling method still has the potential to serve as an effective educational tool in developing children's emotional intelligence. This study emphasizes the importance of developing better methodologies, implementations, and outcome measurements to enhance the effectiveness of interventions. Recommendations for future research include extending the duration of interventions, increasing the sample size, and involving parents in the storytelling process. Thus, this research makes an important contribution to the development of Islamic-based educational methods that focus not only on emotional intelligence but also on character formation in children.

Abstract

Teachers only focus on using package books in teaching in the classroom. Learning is only a repository, that is, learning is very monotonous. As a result, students do not show great enthusiasm, students have difficulties and are unable to think logically, creatively and innovatively in developing their answers when working on math problems. This study aims to determine the feasibility, practicality and effectiveness of the pocket book. This research is a research and development or R&D with a 4-D to 3-D model. Then the results of V Aiken's calculation, student response data of 0.71 and teacher response data of 0.925 are classified as very practical to use during learning. Meanwhile, the calculation of the t-Paired test on the results of the pretest and posttest obtained a value of, t-calculating.=6.1807 and a value of ,t-table.=2.039 with an N-Gain value of 82.6%, so there was an increase in students' numeracy so that the book was categorized as very effective. The conclusion is that math books based on fairy tales can improve the numeracy skills of 2nd grade students of MIS Suhairiyah.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the large number of educators who still do not understand child development and methods that are appropriate to child development and there are still many who show an undisciplined attitude. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of the reward method in developing children's discipline at Az-Zahrah Kindergarten. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data sources in this research are school principals and teachers. The results of the research show that (1) The implementation of the reward method at Az-Zahrah Kindergarten uses several forms including praise, grades/awards and prizes as a form of appreciation for students which is supported by suggestions from student guardians as well as funding from the school which is carried out on an ongoing basis. (2) to develop discipline at Az-Zahrah Kindergarten using the reward method as a form of appreciation for students so that teachers can easily direct them to follow the learning flow that has been designed to be interesting by the teacher. (3) supporting factors for implementing the reward method, namely support and advice from the school, parents and positive responses from students, then inhibiting factors, namely lack of awareness from students and differences in students' characters in showing their behavior. The conclusion in this research shows that the implementation of the reward method at Az-Zahrah Kindergarten is going well according to the use of praise, appreciation and prizes so that children are able to be disciplined in participating in learning activities designed by the teacher.

Abstract

Tantrums are often referred to as peaked emotions felt by children aged 2-6 years as a response to unpleasant situations, which can be manifested through behaviors such as rebelling, screaming, throwing things, rolling, and roaring. This study aims to examine the strategies and methods used by parents when dealing with tantrums in early childhood. This research was conducted qualitatively using a case study approach. Data were collected from three parents of young children in Kerinci Regency through observation, interviews and documentation. The thematic analysis model was used to analyze the data. The results of the study explain that there are several main strategies that can be applied by parents when dealing with tantrums in children by giving time for the child to calm down first, then hugging and inviting the child to talk about feelings and causes of tantrums. As well as consistency and patience of parents is the key to success in dealing with tantrums. Future researchers are advised to expand the research subjects and develop intervention programs that can help parents in dealing with tantrums.

Abstract

The difficulty some children face in recognizing numbers and choosing colors is experienced by several children at RA Bahrul Ulum Luwu Utara. This study aims to understand the description and factors causing children’s difficulties in identifying number symbols and selecting colors. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach through observation, and data collection techniques including observation and interviews. The research results show that the difficulties children face in identifying number symbols and choosing colors include difficulty understanding the shape of numbers, difficulty in ordering numbers, and difficulty in associating images with numbers. Meanwhile, the difficulties in choosing colors are confusion when asked about colors, difficulty associating colors with objects, and dependence on the teacher. The factors causing children's difficulties in identifying number symbols and colors are lack of parental attention, lack of focus and interest, dependency behavior, the negative influence of a strict teaching approach, the habit of playing with phones, and children attending school infrequently. Therefore, this study suggests that early learning for children to introduce numbers can start with lines (|) that can form numbers 1-10. For color recognition, an initial step that can be used is conducting outdoor activities by taking the children on a tour outside while observing the colors of nature, such as the colors of leaves, flowers, the sky, or surrounding objects.

Abstract

Children’s religious moral education is very important from an early age. One way to introduce religious moral values to children from an early age is to carry out Friday blessing activities. The aim of this research is to analyze strategies for introducing religious morals through Friday blessing activities at TK Pertiwi Sowan Kidul. This research uses a qualitative descriptive methodology with a case study approach, collecting information through documentation, interviews, and observation. Data analysis shows an integrative approach to religious moral education and blessed Friday activities, which involves experience-based learning and religious habits, such as congregational prayers and giving alms. The result of this research show that blessed Friday activities such as congregational prayers and alms are an effective way to introduce religious moral values at TK Pertiwi Sowan Kidul. This can help develop children’s religious moral character and produce children who behave well. Children will get use to carrying out daily worship activities as a form of obligation to God. The interview results also revealed that the approach taken by the teacher was able to connect religious moral values with responsibility towards God and others. The challenges faced are bad weather, lack of teacher training, and lack of parental knowledge. This research recommends strengthening teacher training and collaboration between schools and parents. These findings can be a reference in introducing religious moral values through Friday blessing activities with an integrative holistic approach. The conclusion of this research is that children can be introduced to religious morals through Friday blessing activities which are carried out regularly and carried out both in the school environment and at home.

Abstract

Children’s symbolic thinking ability, particularly at the age of 5–6 years, is often hindered by difficulties in recognizing number and letter symbols, which is partly caused by the limited use of media in the learning process. In fact, the use of media in learning plays a crucial role in enhancing children’s abilities. One of the instructional tools that can be employed is the lapbook, which serves as a learning medium to stimulate children’s symbolic thinking skills. This study aims to determine the Effect of Using Lapbook Media on the Symbolic Thinking Skills of Children Aged 5-6 Years at Al-Furqan Minasaupa Islamic Kindergarten. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental research type in the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest. The population in this study were class B students aged 5-6 years at Al-Furqan Minasaupa Islamic Kindergarten. The population in this study were all class B students with a total of 47 children. The sample in this study was 16 children in class B2. The sample selection was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, testing, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and non-parametric analysis, namely the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test using the SPSS 25 application. The results of the data analysis of class B2 students before being given treatment using lapbook media were 14.50 and after being given treatment using lapbook media, an increase of 22.81 was obtained. The test results show that sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 ˂ 0.05 then H1 is accepted, H0 is rejected. So it can be concluded that the use of lapbook media has an effect on the symbolic thinking ability of children aged 5-6 years at Al-Furqan Minasaupa Islamic Kindergarten.

Abstract

The development of "Media Komedi Buah" is a fun and interactive learning media for children's cognitive development in group B (aged 5-6 years). The background of the research is based on the low level of children's knowledge about various fruits, which generally still focuses on simple motor activities without providing meaningful experiences. This fruit comedy media product is designed by combining simple and fun concepts for early childhood. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The trial subjects were children in group B at the Islamic Plus Khozinatul Ulum Kindergarten in Blora. Data were collected through direct observation at the Islamic Plus Khozinatul Ulum Kindergarten in Blora. The results of the individual trial feasibility included the categories of Strongly Agree and Very Appropriate (100%), small group trials included the categories of Strongly Agree and Very Appropriate (90.5%), field trials included the categories of Strongly Agree and Very Appropriate (92.25%), material experts included the categories of Strongly Agree and Very Appropriate (85.42%), media experts included the categories of Strongly Agree and Very Appropriate (95.37%), and mathematics learning practitioners were in the Strongly Agree and Very Appropriate (92.7%) categories. Based on the assessment results of the six stages, the media komedi buah was declared very suitable for use as a supporting teaching material in children's cognitive development.

Abstract

Early childhood children's understanding of the procedures for Dhuha prayer is still low because the learning process is predominantly verbal, so a method that suits the characteristics of children's learning is needed. This study aims to describe the implementation of the exposure method in improving children's understanding of the procedures for Dhuha prayer at RA Assalafiyah Gedongsari Blora. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with children aged 5-6 years old at RA Assalafiyah Gedongsari Blora as research subjects, while the informants are the principal and class teachers. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of reduction, presentation, and verification of conclusions. The results of the study show that children's understanding of the procedures for Dhuha prayer has increased quite significantly after the implementation of the maintenance method. The results of the study show that children's understanding of the procedures for Dhuha prayer has increased after the implementation of the savings method. Children who understood the procedures for Dhuha prayer were initially only around 5 children, then increased to an average of 13 children. This shows that the enhancement method is effective in helping early childhood children understand the procedures for Dhuha prayer better. In conclusion, the reinforcement method has proven effective in improving early childhood's understanding of the procedures for performing the Dhuha prayer as a whole.
