Abstract

Biosynthesis offers an environmentally friendly approach for manufacturing nanoparticles, with flavonoids such as quercetin showing potential as reducing agents. This study aimed to synthesize gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) from HAuCl4 using quercetin as a reducing agent. The synthesis process was monitored using UV-Vis spectrophotometry, and the particle size and stability of the nanoparticles were characterized using a Particle Size Analyzer (PSA). The synthesized AuNPs exhibited a color change from light yellow to deep purple, with a peak absorbance between 500 600 nm. The average particle size was found to be 116.7 nm, with a zeta potential of -12.2 mV, and a polydispersity index of 0.293. The inhibitory activity of the AuNPs was assessed by their effect on the tyrosinase enzyme, yielding an IC50 value of 970 μg/mL. These results suggest that gold nanoparticles synthesized using quercetin are stable and exhibit potential inhibitory activity against tyrosinase. The study concludes that this green synthesis method has the potential for further development in drug delivery systems, providing an innovative approach in biopreneurship.

Abstract

This article explores the implementation of programs aimed at instilling the spirit of nationalism and love for the homeland in the young generation of Indonesian immigrants in the Sentul area of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The urgency lies in fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of nationalism and patriotism among these young individuals, who often face challenges in accessing education due to incomplete essential documents. This study uses initial assessments through observations and interviews, collaborative educational sessions with local guidance centers, and interactive activities such as discussions, quizzes, and cultural events. Significant results show an increase in the young immigrants awareness and embodiment of national values, demonstrated by a stronger sense of identity and connection to their homeland. Tailored educational approaches that integrate Indonesia struggle for independence, national symbols, and cultural heritage play a critical role in maintaining national identity among immigrant populations. Continuous efforts are necessary to ensure that the younger generation remains connected to their heritage and develops a robust nationalistic spirit, even when living abroad.

Abstract

Travel pattern variations pose challenges in building a prediction model that accurately captures seasonal patterns or precision of BRT passenger numbers. An approach that integrates sophisticated prediction algorithms with high accuracy is needed to address the Transjakarta BRT passenger number prediction model problem. The proposed prediction model with the best accuracy is sought using deep learning on 8 models. The prediction model is used for short-term and long-term predictions, as well as looking for correlations in the prediction results of 13 Transjakarta corridors. The Python programming language with the Deep Learning Tensor Flow framework is run by Google Colaboratory used in the prediction simulation environment. The combination of BiLSTM-CNN was found to have the best accuracy of the evaluation value (SMAPE = 15.9387, MAPE = 0.598, and MSLE = 0.0425), although it has the longest time (134 seconds). Fluctuations in short-term predictions of passenger numbers evenly occur simultaneously across all corridors. Fluctuations in long-term predictions evenly occur simultaneously across all corridors, except in February. There is no negative correlation in the 13 prediction results and there are 8 corridors that have a close positive correlation. The prediction results can be used by transportation operators and the government to optimize resource planning and transportation policies to support sustainable community and economic mobility.

Abstract

The rise of self-employment highlights the need to understand its implications on workers engagement, especially for those in Economically Dependent Solo Self-Employment (EDSSE) and Necessity Self-Employment (NSE). This study aims to examine the effects of these two self-employment types on skill discretion, rewards, autonomy, and work engagement, as well as the mediating roles of these three intrinsic job resources. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected via questionnaires from self-employed individuals in Jakarta who have worked for at least one year. Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis was employed to evaluate the relationships between variables. The results reveal that both EDSSE and NSE positively influence skill discretion, rewards, autonomy, and work engagement. Furthermore, these intrinsic job resources mediate the relationship between self-employment types and work engagement, highlighting their pivotal role. The findings emphasize that both direct and mediated effects contribute positively to work engagement among self-employed workers. This research offers practical insights into the role of intrinsic resources in enhancing engagement and provides theoretical contributions to self-employment literature. Further studies are suggested to explore the moderating influence of demographic and contextual factors in different self-employment settings.

Abstract

This study addresses the debate on the role of Multiple Large Shareholders (MLS) in influencing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance in family-controlled firms across ASEAN. It explores whether MLS identity creates a collusion effect or monitoring effect on ESG outcomes. Using unbalanced panel regression with 672 firm-year observations from publicly listed firms in ASEAN-6 (2015-2022), this study evaluates the impact of MLS identity on ESG performance. The findings indicate that MLS mainly exert a collusion effect, prioritizing private gains over stakeholder interests. Institutional investors as second-largest shareholders often misuse private ESG information rather than ensuring accountability, amplifying the collusion effect. These results contrast with prior studies highlighting MLS monitoring role in other regions. This study emphasizes the need for stronger governance in ASEAN to address MLS collusion and improve ESG performance. Global investors and policymakers must advocate for sustainable practices and transparency in family-controlled firms. The insights advance discussions on ownership structures and their implications for corporate sustainability in emerging markets.

Abstract

The Indonesian government aims to improve public health by integrating a unified health platform with regional systems for effective decision-making. However, the existing health information system is inadequate for broader decision-making needs, focusing primarily on individuals with existing health issues and not adequately addressing the needs of disaster victims, such as those affected by floods, accidents, and burns. Tangerang City, located in Banten Province, is a flood-prone area that faces annual disasters, highlighting this gap. To address this issue, this study proposes the development of a Health Internet of Things (HIoT) model designed to support rapid decision-making and enhance community health services. The proposed IoT-based network will be implemented in residential complexes, private clinics, schools, and places of worship, enabling real-time monitoring of health conditions and facilitating disaster or pandemic mitigation. Data collected from these communities will be transmitted to nearby hospitals for immediate medical assistance. Preliminary findings suggest that the IoT-based e-health system offers significant benefits, including faster patient care, improved data accuracy, and reduced operational costs. These results underscore the potential of HIoT to enhance community-based health services. The study provides a foundation for future research and practical applications. Further investigation will be conducted to evaluate the scalability of the system in diverse communities and its impact on long-term health outcomes.

Abstract

Indonesia is rich in diverse cultural heritage, including the traditional ULOS cloth from North Sumatra. To preserve and appreciate local culture, it is essential for student teachers to develop a deep understanding and love for that culture. The ULOS-based learning model, assisted by Augmented Reality (AR), is designed to achieve this goal. This research aims to develop a learning model based on the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, referred to as the ULOS model, to increase cultural understanding and appreciation among prospective teacher students. The study follows a Research and Development approach using the ADDIE development model. The sample includes elementary school teacher education students from UHKBPNP during the trial and effectiveness testing stages. Data collection involved expert validation sheets to assess the model suitability and test instruments to measure students love for their culture. The results demonstrate that the ULOS learning model assisted by AR, was declared valid, effective, and practical. It significantly enhanced students understanding of Batak culture and ULOS cloth, while also increasing their positive attitudes and love for local culture. The use of ULOS cloth as a teaching aid not only enriches the learning process but also strengthens cultural identity and fosters pride in Indonesia cultural heritage. The ULOS learning model is effective in enhancing cultural understanding and appreciation and has the potential to be adopted and developed in various educational and cultural contexts worldwide.

Abstract

This paper delves into the intricate relationship between social media and childhood learning mechanisms for children. Despite the growing body of research on learners acceptance of e-learning systems via childhood program platforms, a considerable gap remains in understanding the determinants that shape the acceptance of e-learning facilitated through social media applications. Addressing this gap, our study undertakes an exploration of the impact of social media practices, specifically knowledge sharing, social media features, motivation, and uses, on children embrace of e-learning systems. To accomplish this, we extend the well-established Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to incorporate these determinants. A comprehensive survey was conducted involving 355 children. These students participated through questionnaire surveys, providing essential empirical data. Employing the robust SmartPLS technique, meticulously analyzed the extended model. The results of empirical data analysis demonstrate that social media practices exert a significant and positive influence on Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) related to Childhood Learning Mechanisms. Crucially, our findings underscore the pivotal role of both PU and PEOU in influencing the acceptance of e-learning systems. In essence, this paper not only sheds light on the transformative potential of social media practices in shaping the acceptance of e-learning systems but also contributes to the existing discourse by deepening our understanding of the interplay between social media, TAM determinants, and e-learning acceptance in childhood programs.

Abstract

The study explored the impact of financial technology (FinTech) on family financial planning (FFP) among young families in Indonesia, with a focus on Personal Saving Orientation (PSO) as a moderating variable. Financial technology has significantly transformed personal financial management, enabling better access to tools for budgeting, tracking, and saving. However, its direct impact on FFP remains underexplored, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. This research aims to analyze the role of FinTech in shaping financial behaviors and examine PSO moderating influence on the relationship between FinTech adoption and FFP. The study employed a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze data collected from 217 young families. The variables examined include PSO, FinTech adoption, and FFP. The findings reveal that FinTech positively impacts PSO (estimate = 0.799, p-value = 0.000), highlighting its role in improving financial habits and saving behaviors. While the direct relationship between FinTech and FFP is not significant (p-value > 0.05), PSO effectively enhances FinTech influence on FFP, emphasizing its critical role as a moderating factor. This study underscores the importance of integrating PSO into financial strategies to optimize the benefits of FinTech, particularly for young families. These findings provide practical insights for FinTech developers to design tools that promote saving behaviors and for policymakers to encourage financial literacy and inclusion. By aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this research contributes to poverty reduction, economic stability, and financial well-being.
