Abstract

The applicability of the servant leadership concept is still growing, and researchers are currently exploring model development. On the other hand, since organizations need to innovate in order to adapt proactively to change and ensure sustainability, intrapreneurship becomes particularly important for the development of any organization, whether it is a business or a non-profit. Numerous studies have indicated that servant leadership can stimulate creative and innovative behaviors, which are essential aspects of intrapreneurship. However, the existing literature on servant leadership primarily focuses on leader characteristics, with limited knowledge about other influencing factors. This research uniquely explores organizational antecedents, addressing gaps in how servant leadership fosters intrapreneurship. This study aims to explore and identify the antecedents of servant leadership beyond individual characteristics. Participants in this study include principals from various Indonesian private schools. We conducted thorough interviews to gather data, and the transcripts from these interviews were meticulously analyzed to identify key themes. The interview data were analyzed using thematic coding, wherein recurring patterns and themes were identified through a systematic, iterative process. The analysis followed a six-phase framework for thematic analysis, starting with familiarization with the data, generating initial codes, searching for themes, reviewing themes, defining and naming themes, and finally producing the report. According to the results, potential variables for future research in servant leadership and intrapreneurship models include organizational vision and mission, satisfaction with compensation, serving culture, and the role model of the manager.

Abstract

Committed millennial teachers are highly dedicated and engaged in their profession. They aim to deliver high-quality educational services and continuously evolve as edupreneurs. Renowned for their creativity and innovation, they generate fresh ideas for educational ventures. This study examines the impact of Supervisory Support (SS) and the level of spirituality in the workplace (WS) on the Organizational Commitment (OC) of millennial teachers in Indonesia, with Job Embeddedness (JE) and Well-being (WB) as mediator variables. The research methodology employed is quantitative, utilizing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). A total of 302 questionnaires were distributed to millennial teachers working in private schools. The results indicate that JE significantly mediates the relationship between principal support and OC. However, WB is a significant mediator between the level of spirituality at work and OC. Moreover, while supervisor support did not significantly impact OC, the level of workplace spirituality demonstrated a significant influence on the organizational commitment of millennial teachers. These findings provide novel insights into the factors influencing the retention of millennial teachers, aiding in the development of human resource management strategies in the education sector.

Abstract

The degradation of water quality in the environment can be attributed to the discharge of wastewater from shrimp ponds. Conversely, solid waste in the form of shrimp shells presents an entrepreneurial opportunity through the extraction of chitosan, a substance with the potential to enhance water quality while contributing to environmental sustainability. Sampling for this study was conducted at the Vannamei Nusantara Gemilang pond, located in Tambakrejo Village, Malang Regency, East Java. The research employed an experimental methodology with a quantitative approach, supplemented by a literature review. Various doses of chitosan solutions were tested on shrimp pond wastewater. The optimal results were obtained at a dosage of 80 mg/L, significantly outperforming the untreated water. The test outcomes for the 80 mg/L dosage included: BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) at 4.62 mg/L, Nitrite concentration at 0.045 mg/L, turbidity at 3.55 NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Units), TSS (Total Suspended Solids) at 14.6 mg/L, TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) at 2974 mg/L, pH level at 6.31, and temperature at 31.40°C. Notably, the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) levels did not meet quality standards, highlighting the need for further process optimization. These findings emphasize the potential of chitosan extraction as a sustainable solution, while also underscoring the importance of continued research into the economic feasibility of this waste-to-wealth approach. Further studies are necessary to refine the wastewater treatment process, quantify the economic benefits, and ensure the long-term viability of this entrepreneurial venture in environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Current attendance methods, though simple, are prone to manipulation and can be time consuming for both educators and students. For instance, manual systems and QR code based methods allow students to register attendance on behalf of others due to the lack of unique identification. While calling names individually improves security, it disrupts the learning process by consuming significant time. This study addresses these issues by developing an autonomous robot, CObot, equipped with a facial recognition system powered by a Raspberry Pi microcontroller. CObot navigates classrooms autonomously, avoiding obstacles, and efficiently records attendance without requiring movement from students or educators. The use of facial recognition ensures that only registered individuals can mark attendance, creating a secure and tamper-proof system. Additionally, the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology enables real-time data transfer to Google Sheets, simplifying record-keeping and reducing educators administrative workload. A 3D-printed, customizable car structure enhances the robot design, while the Raspberry Pi 5 was selected over alternatives like the ESP32-S3 for its superior processing power and faster data transfer speeds, ensuring smoother operations. In testing with 60 participants, the Raspberry Pi 5 demonstrated a 99% accuracy rate in facial recognition, outperforming the ESP32-S3 90% accuracy. By saving time, improving security, and reducing manual effort, CObot enhances the classroom environment, benefiting both students and educators. While the improvement in attendance systems may appear incremental, CObot represents a meaningful step toward fostering a more efficient and effective learning environment.
