Abstract

This study aims to analyze the expenditure profile of students living in boarding houses based on survey data from 100 respondents. Data were collected through an online survey that included gender, study program, financial resources, average monthly expenses, rent, food/drink costs, college expenses, and factors influencing expenses. The results show that the majority of respondents are female (69%) and 98% rely on their parents as their primary financial source. Average total expenses are dominated by the range of IDR 1,000,000 - IDR 1,500,000 (42%). The largest expenditure is for food/drink (81% of respondents), and the price of basic necessities (74%) is the main factor influencing the amount of expenditure. Although the majority feel their pocket money is sufficient (77%), the high cost of basic necessities indicates financial pressure that needs to be managed well. Keywords: Expenditure Patterns, Prices, Basic Need.

Abstract

This study looks at how Shopee’s free-shipping program influences the buying choices of management students at UNIMED. The research uses a quantitative approach with simple linear regression. One hundred active students who also use Shopee took part in the study, and the data was analyzed using simple linear regression. The results show that the free-shipping feature has a strong positive effect, with a regression coefficient of 0.707 and a contribution of 66.8% to purchasing decisions. This means that the more frequently free-shipping deals are offered, the more likely students are to buy. The program helps lower transaction costs, build customer loyalty, and make buying decisions faster. The findings highlight the importance of using free-shipping promotions as a marketing strategy to attract and keep young consumers..Keywords: Free Shipping, Purchase Decision, E-Commerce, Shopee.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the culinary sector play a vital role in the Indonesian economy, yet they face challenges of competition and limited resources. This study aims to analyze operational management strategies at Ayam Penyet Raffa MSME in Medan and identify the operational problems encountered. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with the business owner, direct observation, and documentation. The findings revealed five main problems: a "sold out close" policy without reserve stock, lack of standardization in chili sauce measurements leading to taste inconsistency, no menu innovation for seven years, less ergonomic facility layout with the production area close to customers, and suboptimal use of social media for promotion. This study concludes that improving operational management through the implementation of SOPs, product innovation, better inventory management, facility rearrangement, and optimizing digital promotion can enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness of culinary MSMEs.Keywords— Operational Management, Culinary MSMEs, Quality Control, Facility Layout, Digital Marketing

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of inflation and unemployment rates on poverty levels in Indonesia during the period 2012-2024. The background of this study is based on fluctuations in macroeconomic indicators and poverty dynamics that show significant changes, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method uses a quantitative approach with an associative design, using secondary data from BPS and Bank Indonesia, which is analyzed through multiple linear regression. The results show that inflation and unemployment rates simultaneously have a significant effect on poverty levels. However, partially, only the unemployment rate has been proven to have a significant effect, while inflation has no significant effect on poverty changes during that period. These findings indicate that unemployment is the most decisive macroeconomic factor in influencing poverty levels. This study emphasizes the importance of job creation policies and strengthening the productive sector in poverty alleviation efforts in Indonesia. Keywords— inflation, unemployment rate, poverty rate, macroeconomics.

Abstract

This research seeks to examine the connections between how the economy advances and how income is spread unevenly across East Java Province from 2015 to 2024. The information utilized was obtained from official publications by the Statistics Indonesia and scrutinized using quantitative methods, incorporating correlation tests and regression to reveal the effects of economic expansion on the degree of income inequality. The research findings indicate that a rise in Gross Regional Domestic Product does not automatically translate to decreased disparity, some regions experiencing rapid economic growth still face substantial income inequality. Essential components such as dissimilarities in job prospects, discrepancies in minimum wages, and the clustering of economic actions are crucial elements that play a part in the uneven distribution. These outcomes highlight the necessity of creating more encompassing policies to ensure that the benefits of economic advancement are fairly shared by all societal segments in East Java. Keywords: Correlation Analysis, Economic Disparity, East Java GRDP, Economic Growth, Income Inequality, Inclusive Growth.
