Abstract

There has been an increase in suicides in Indonesia in recent years. Suicide is the leading cause of death in the 15-29 age group. Suicide attempts begin with suicidal ideation. Suicidal ideation arises because the pain or suffering experienced by individuals occurs continuously. This study aims to analyze suicidal ideation that arises due to hopelessness and the desire to be free from pain in adolescents. Data were collected using a questionnaire adapted from the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS). The study was conducted on 1154 students at one of the high schools in Central Java. The results showed that 12% of students had the idea to make a suicide attempt. Further results showed that 86% of respondents did not have a specific plan to commit suicide, 58% of respondents thought about suicide less than once a week, 41% of respondents were able to control suicidal ideation easily, 40% of respondents thought family, religion, and the pain of death could stop suicidal thoughts, and 35% of respondents made suicidal ideation as an attempt to end pain. This shows that suicidal ideation in adolescents is a problem that needs attention from various parties, one of which is the Guidance and Counseling teacher.

Abstract

Students with higher self-efficacy, are more self-confident, can set higher learning goals, and are better at problem solving, which may lead to better academic performance. This research aims to adapt and validate The Scale of Sources of Self-efficacy in Mathematics (SSSEM) in the context of Indonesian culture and language and test its reliability in high school students. The research sample consisted of 200 students from six high schools in the city of Palangkaraya. All items were analyzed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The research results show the construct validity of the instrument with the index criterion value ?2 = 170.749 p = 0.97 or (p-value > 0.05) meaning there is a match between the data and the model, then the RMSEA value = .028 (≤ 0.09), CMIN/DF = 1.154 (≤ 2.00), GFI = 0.920, CFI = 0.994, TLI = 0.993 and AGFI = 0897 (≥ 0.90). The results of the reliability analysis show that the scale has an adequate level of reliability. Then the construct reliability has good reliability with coefficient values for each dimension of 0.89 0.88, 0.89 and 0.87. Cronbach's Alpha value is above 0.70. This adapted scale had a good fit with empirical data after several modifications. Therefore, the Indonesian version of the SSSEM can be used as a valid and reliable measuring tool to measure self-efficacy in high school students in Indonesia.

The reliability results were 0.77 for Awareness and 0.79 for Attitude, Mean and simple percentages were used to analyse the research questions, while the hypotheses were tested using a t-test at 0.05 significant level. The findings revealed among others those pre-service teachers had a good awareness of the existence of OER and their attitude towards the use of OER for learning was positive. Also, there was no significant difference between the male and female pre-service teachers in their awareness and attitude towards the use of OER for learning in the sampled colleges of education-based gender. The study concluded among others that the awareness and positive attitude of pre-service teachers could affect the use of OER. The study recommended among others that federal, and State governments and colleges’ management should encourage pre-service teachers to adopt OER more in their learning and other academic activities.

Based on the calculation of the hypothesis test, the results were gnified (2-tailed) 0.000 0.05. Thus, there is a significant difference between the initial variable (ore-test) and the final variable (post-test). Thus, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. On the basis of these calculations, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) which reads "there is a significant influence of the development of interactive PPT-based learning media in overcoming the social anxiety of MTs Ma'arif Jumo students when speaking in public" is accepted as true at the level of significance. The above facts show the influence of the use of learning media in overcoming the social anxiety of MTs Ma'arif Jumo students. Based on the calculation of the Hypothesis Test, a signification result (2-tailed) of 0.000 0.05 was obtained. Thus, there is a significant difference between the initial variable (pre-test) and the final variable (post-test). In other words, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted on the basis of these calculations, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) which reads "there is a significant influence on the development of Interactive PPT-based learning media in overcoming the anxiety problems of MTs Ma'arif Jumo students when speaking in public" is accepted.
