Abstract

Mathematics learning in junior high schools often faces challenges such as low conceptual understanding and limited teacher collaboration. Android-based Lesson Study (LS) offers a promising solution through technology integration, but related research is still scarce. This study analyzes the potential of Android-based LS for mathematics learning in junior high schools based on Scopus-indexed literature. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted using the PRISMA protocol. Searches in Scopus used the keywords "Lesson Study," "Android app," "mathematics education," and "secondary school," filtered by: (1) 2019–2024 publications, (2) journal articles only, and (3) full-text availability. Of 78 articles identified, 15 met the inclusion criteria. Results show: (1) 80% highlight Android apps’ effectiveness in improving teacher collaboration; (2) 60% report enhanced student motivation via interactive media; (3) main challenges involve teachers’ TPACK and infrastructure. The study concludes Android-based LS has strong potential for junior high schools, especially with adequate TPACK training.

Abstract

The development of students' religious character is an essential aspect in Islamic education, especially in facing the challenges of modernization and globalization that impact the moral behaviour of the younger generation. This study aims to analyze the implementation and effectiveness of the Malam Bina Iman dan Taqwa (MABIT) program at SMP IT Al-Ghazali Jember as a strategy for fostering students' religious character. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, where data is obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The primary informants included the principal, accompanying teachers, and students from various grade levels. The triangulation technique was applied to ensure data credibility. The results showed that the MABIT program significantly improved students' daily worship discipline, independence, and responsibility. The activities in this program - including congregational worship, religious studies, group discussions, and self-muhasabah - contribute to forming stronger religious characters. The evaluation of the program shows that its effectiveness is influenced by the active involvement of teachers and parents, as well as the continuity of the activities carried out. The implications of this study indicate that character education based on direct experience is more effective than theoretical approaches, and coaching models such as MABIT need to be developed further. Recommendations include periodic evaluation of learning methods, student participation optimization, and technology integration to support program sustainability.

Abstract

The learning style approach significantly impacts education, particularly in the Education 4.0 era, where both educators and institutions must innovate to enhance student outcomes. This study explores the use of artificial intelligence, particularly ChatGPT, in education. It integrates the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and DeLone & McLean models to examine how System Quality, Information Quality, and Service Quality influence Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, and technology acceptance. Data from 100 respondents analyzed using SmartPLS shows that System, Information, and Service Quality positively affect Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use. Service Quality, however, does not influence Perceived Ease of Use. Perceived Usefulness and Ease of Use positively affect Attitude Toward Using, which in turn influences Behavioral Intention to Use. Finally, Behavioral Intention positively impacts Actual System Use. The model achieved an accuracy of 54.9%.

Abstract

This study aims to improve social studies learning outcomes of grade VII students of Al-Kyai Sitiaji Junior High School, Sukosewu, Bojonegoro through the application of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. The main problems identified were low student average scores and limited active participation during the learning process. This study uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart models, which is conducted in two cycles. Data was collected through observation, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The results showed an increase in students' average scores from 65 to 75, and learning mastery increased from 47% to 82%. Student activity also increased, especially in terms of engagement during group discussions and project work. The implementation of PjBL has proven to be effective in improving learning outcomes and 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and responsibility. This model can serve as an alternative to contextual and meaningful learning strategies in social studies education.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of Islamic religious education from the perspective of Ki Hajar Dewantara's thought and explores its relevance in the current digital era. Ki Hajar Dewantara, as a pioneer of Indonesian national education, is known for his educational philosophy that emphasizes character formation, freedom of thought, and commitment to humanistic and cultural values. Although he did not explicitly formulate a model of Islamic religious education, his ideas are rich in religious values and spirituality aligned with Islamic principles, such as freedom in learning (the among system), teacher as role model, and the balance between intellectual, emotional, and volitional development. These are encapsulated in three core values: ing ngarsa sung tuladha (in front, setting an example), ing madya mangun karsa (in the middle, inspiring initiative), and tut wuri handayani (at the back, providing support). In the digital era, marked by information disruption, changes in social interaction patterns, and the rise of online learning platforms, Ki Hajar Dewantara's educational values have become increasingly relevant. This article highlights how his educational principles can be integrated into digital Islamic religious education through a holistic, humanistic, and contextual approach. The study uses a literature review method with qualitative analysis of Ki Hajar Dewantara’s works and contemporary literature on religious education and digital technology. The analysis shows that his ideas can serve as a strong philosophical foundation for developing a model of Islamic religious education that is technologically adaptive yet firmly rooted in noble values. Therefore, his ideas are not only historically relevant but also strategically significant for addressing the challenges of Islamic education in the digital age.

Abstract

This article examines the thoughts of KH. Ahmad Mustofa Bisri (Gus Mus) on Islamic education in the contemporary era, emphasizing the importance of the process of humanizing individuals, shaping socially devout beings, and fostering self and environmental reflection. The background of this study stems from concerns over educational practices increasingly trapped in formality and material achievement orientation, thereby neglecting humanitarian values and spirituality. The aim of this study is to explore the humanistic Islamic educational ideas proposed by Gus Mus as a response to the challenges of the times. This research employs a qualitative method using a literature study approach, analyzing Gus Mus's sermons and poems rich in moral and educational messages. The findings indicate that Gus Mus stresses the importance of education not merely as a means of producing intelligent individuals, but more crucially, as a means of shaping humans with social sensitivity, self-awareness, and spiritual depth. According to him, Islamic education should serve as a medium for "self-reflection," recognizing one's identity as both a servant of God and a responsible social being. Thus, Gus Mus’s thought offers an Islamic educational paradigm that is both relevant to contemporary needs and a critique of an education system that has lost its humanistic spirit.
