Abstract

This  study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students of class VIII 3 SMP Negeri 2 Meurah Mulia which is known from the observations. The research objective was to determine the improvement of learning outcomes in the Pascal Law material for class VIII 3 students of SMP Negeri 2 Meurah Mulia by using project based learning (pjbl) of learning model. This research is a type of classroom action research with a model developed by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The study subjects were students of class VIII 3, with a total of 16 students. The techniques used in data collection are tests, observation, interviews and documentation. This study consisted of 2 (two) cycles where there were two meetings in each cycle. The data analysis technique used a qualitative descriptive analysis. The study success criteria set for student learning outcomes is 75 for a scale of 1-100 grading. The results showed that the application of the project based learning (pjbl) of learning model could improve the learning outcomes of class VIII 3 students of SMP Negeri 2 Meurah Mulia. The average learning outcomes in cycle I was 73.16 and in cycle II increased to 82.51. In conclusion, the application of the project based learning model can improve student learning outcomes in science learning class VIII 3 SMP Negeri 2 Meurah Mulia.

Abstract

This study was intended to investigate the influence of inquiry learning approach assisted with square word media toward students’ mathematical understanding ability in learning mathematics. This study was conducted through quantitative research procedures namely quasi-experimental design. The populations were all students of class X at MAS Syamsuddhuha. The samples were 25 students of class X MIA 1 and 25 students of class X MIA 2, selected by purposive sampling. The nonequivalent posttest-only control group design was used. The data were obtained from the post-test results of the students’ mathematical understanding; they were analyzed by using SPSS 18 software. Since the data was not normal, the non-parametric Mann-Whitney test was applied. The findings of this study showed that the significant value of the test was 0,000 and it was less than 0.05 allowed the H0 rejected. It can be concluded that there was an influence of inquiry learning approach assisted by word square media on students' mathematical understanding ability, which was done in the study of trigonometry II for class X at MAS Syamsuddhuha. Hence, mathematical understanding ability is a crucial aspect in solving mathematical problems which can be measured by applying inquiry learning approach in classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to figure the implementation of anti-discrimination Christian Religious Education (CRE) at school and various things that can significantly shape students' anti-discrimination attitudes. By using descriptive qualitative methods, namely by adopting the research procedures of Miles and Habermas and support of other literature, the researchers found that CRE at schools has a strategic place in teaching anti-discrimination attitudes toward students. In this regard, the contextual and biblical CRE curriculum design and learning model presented in the class can lead students to have attitudes that do not discriminate against one another. Teaching anti-discrimination attitudes through CRE can be done simultaneously. CRE teachers lay the foundation or instill Christian values that differences are the reality and how students can accept and appreciate differences. Those are strengthened by the application of the CRE curriculum that contains the topic of anti-discrimination and synergized learning models in which students can interact, communicate and relate in different realities.

The subjects of this study were the students of the State Senior High School 1 Muara Batu and the Private High School Jabalnur as many as 25 students. This study refers to the type of Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D model. This research was carried out until the limited trial stage. The stages carried out in this research are Define, Design, Develop. In the Define stage, concept analysis is carried out, at the design stage, the design of learning media to be developed is carried out, at the Develop stage the development of Make a Match-Based Flashcard media is carried out and limited trials on research subjects. The results showed that the Make a Match-Based Flashcard media was valid with a media validity percentage of 88% (very good), and material validity of 85% (very good). The results of data analysis showed the feasibility with a percentage value of 92.30% (very feasible). Based on the results of the study conducted, it can be concluded that the Make a Match-Based Flashcard media is very suitable to be used as a learning medium on colloidal material.
