Abstract

This article aims to analyze the evolutionary trajectory of the Sasak language using a historical approach and the language evolution theory developed by Schleicher. This theory depicts languages as entities undergoing evolution similar to biological organisms, evolving from simple forms to complex forms through natural selection. To achieve this, the research methodology includes literature review, primary data collection, historical analysis, and an examination of the development of the Sasak language within the contexts of social, educational, and modern media environments. Consequently, this article utilizes Schleicher’s tree diagram to illustrate the genetic relationships and linguistic changes within the Sasak language on Lombok Island. The implications of this research provide a deeper understanding of the evolution of the Sasak language and the factors influencing it.

Abstract

This paper is to describe the use of synesthesia in romantic poems by Sapardi Djoko Damono. The data source is a collection of romantic poems by Sapardi Djoko Damono containing synesthesia, namely Hujan Bulan Juni, Kuhentikan Hujan, Sajak Putih, Gerimis Jatuh, Hujan dalam Komposisi 1, and Hujan dalam Komposisi 2. Given that this research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, the data used is in the form of exposure to poetry texts in a collection of romantic poems by Sapardi Djoko Domono containing synesthesia elements. To find the synesthesia in question, an analysis with read and write technique is used. Through analysis based on Leech's theory of meaning types. The results showed that synesthesia is found in 6 poems out of 22 romantic poetry collections by Sapardi Djoko Damono. In the poem Hujan Bulan Juni there is one synesthesia, namely vision-feeling (heart). Kuhentikan Hujan, there are two synesthesia, namely vision-feeling (heart) and vision-touching. Sajak Putih, there is one synesthesia, namely hearing-sight. Gerimis Jatuh, there are two synesthesia: hearing-sensing and seeing-sensing. Hujan dalam Komposisi 1, there are two synesthesia: hearing-sensing and smell-sensing. Hujan dalam Komposisi 2, there is one synesthesia, namely hearing-sight. Synesthesia can be used effectively in enriching the reader's experience, creating a deeper and emotional picture because synesthesia is a literary technique that combines two or more senses to create a more complex and rich picture.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the improvement of poetry writing skills using the 3N technique and detail changes in student behavior after participating in lessons employing this technique, which holds significant implications for the development of theories in Indonesian language and literature education. Employing a two-cycle classroom action research design with students from class XA at SMAN 1 Sakra Timur, the analysis results indicate a 20.08% increase in the average class score in poetry writing skills using the 3N technique from cycle I to cycle II, along with a 43.3% change in student behavior. The average observation score increased from 60 in cycle I to 86 in cycle II, this shows a change in student behavior in a more positive direction. This shows that improving poetry writing skills is greatly influenced by student behavior. Students who initially tended to behave negatively and underestimate explanations, changed to become happier, active and serious in learning. They increasingly show enthusiasm and enjoy the learning process, so that the class atmosphere becomes more lively and orderly, and they are able to complete assignments well.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the position of women from an Islamic perspective in Hikayat Putri Salamah. This research uses qualitative descriptive methods through document or text study. Data is obtained by recording quotations in Hikayat Putri Salamah that are by the research objectives. The data includes several quotations related to the Islamic view of the position of women in the Hikayat Putri Salamah. The data source is obtained from the transliteration of the thesis entitled “The Image of Women in the Ideal Concept of Hikayat Putri Salamah” by Alfiani. Data analysis was conducted using van Dijk's discourse analysis model which focuses on the three dimensions of the text. The results of the analysis were then studied in depth to be used as a foundation for finding the position of women through an Islamic perspective in the Hikayat Putri Salamah.  The research found that the text structure in Hikayat Putri Salamah includes macro structure, super structure, and micro structure. Through the results of the analysis, it was found that women have an equal position with men. However, there is a shift in the role of position when women have a husband. Women who have husbands are required to be submissive and devoted to their husbands so that women's positions are slightly below men's.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze language errors in the field of morphology found on the Instagram platform. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a content analysis approach to Instagram user uploads and comments. Data is collected from popular accounts and various posts. The research results show that the most frequently occurring morphological errors include the formation of repeated words, the use of inappropriate affixes, and the formation of compound words incorrectly. The main factor causing this error is the user's lack of understanding of standard Indonesian language rules and the influence of slang and foreign languages. It is hoped that these findings can become the basis for efforts to increase language literacy on social media and provide insight for educators and language researchers regarding the phenomenon of language errors in the digital era.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the difficulty of students in understanding teaching materials that have complex sentences. The purpose of this research is to develop class X Indonesian teaching materials, especially chapter 1 of the observation report text based on the lexical density index. The method used is research and development (R&D) with primary data collection techniques from class X Indonesian teaching materials and secondary data from observations, questionnaires, and documentation of class X-5 at Pasundan 3 Bandung High School. This research uses Halliday's theory (1985) to calculate the lexical density index. The results showed that the lexical density index in the original teaching materials was 8.1 (very high). The development of teaching materials was carried out by simplifying the sentences, thus reducing the lexical density index to 6.4 (medium). After developing teaching materials, students understand the teaching materials that have been developed better than the original teaching materials. This is reinforced by the pretest average value of 62.5 and increased with the posttest average value to 81.5. In addition, the questionnaire results showed that 40% of students understood the teaching materials before they were developed and 60% did not understand them, and were also reinforced by the results of the validation of educators who stated that the development version of teaching materials was feasible to use. Thus, the development of teaching materials based on the lexical density index was successful in improving students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

The importance of analyzing directive speech acts in preschool-aged children needs to be carried out to see how preschool-aged children act. At pre-school age, children experience rapid language development. Understanding the speech acts of pre-school children helps parents and educators support the language learning process effectively. The research was conducted at Timezone Lampung City Mall, this research data is directive speech acts of preschool children aged 5-6 years. The research subjects were children aged 5-6 years who played at Timezone Lampung City Mall. Based on the results, it can be seen that the forms of directive speech acts found in preschool children (5-6 years) at Timezone Lampung City Mall are in the form of requests, questions, commands, prohibitions and advice. There were no directive speech acts found in children's speech. The results of the research show that children's early speech repertoires are limited, transitional, and imperfectly language-like to a certain extent. Most of the linguistic forms acquired by children are expressions that lack the characteristics of syntactic combinations in adult language. The most dominant types of directive speech acts that often appear in the speech of preschool aged children are the types of directive speech acts of questions and commands. These two types of directive speech acts are the most prominent and are widely used by children to ask, order, and ask to remind.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the conversational context of 3 year old children in interpersonal communication in the family environment. The context of the conversation of the research subject is the conversation carried out by the subject with all members of his family, namely father, mother and grandmother. The type of research is descriptive qualitative research, the analysis was carried out on a 3 year old child named Haura who lives in Terbanggi Besar, Lampung. Based on the results, it can be seen how overall the dialogue can be answered well by the subject with very good responses in dialogue with family members. There are still pronunciation errors and the loss of some foems in conversations between subjects and family members. This pronunciation error is very normal because some consonants are difficult for 3 year old children to pronounce, this can be caused by environmental factors which may not teach sound pronunciation correctly and continuously. Therefore, in this dialogue, it can be said that the interpersonal conversation between the subject and the family members is in the good category because they can understand the question sentences asked by the family members well even though the pronunciation is unclear due to difficulty pronouncing phoneme sounds that are unfamiliar to hear and difficult to imitate.
