Abstract

The problem in this study is that the discipline of Taekwondo Dojang UNP athletes is unknown. The purpose of this study is to determine the discipline of Taekwondo Dojang UNP athletes. This study is classified as a descriptive research type. The population in this study was athletes at Dojang UNP, totaling 30 people. Sampling using the Total Sampling technique, so the sample in this study amounted to 30 people. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Analysis of research data used a frequency distribution technique with a percentage calculation of P = F / N x 100%. Research results: the level of discipline of Taekwondo Dojang UNP athletes was 87.59% in the very high category. Referring to the results of this study, which states that the level of discipline of Taekwondo Dojang UNP athletes is included in the discipline category.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve long jump learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Islam Khairu Ummah Padang through the implementation of a game-based learning model. The research employed Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 36 students. Data were collected through observation and long jump performance tests and analyzed using descriptive, quantitative, and qualitative techniques. The results indicated that the game-based learning model significantly improved students’ learning outcomes. In Cycle I, the average score was 48.92 with a mastery level of 22.22%. After improvements in Cycle II, the average score increased to 83.06, with learning mastery reaching 94.44%. These findings demonstrate that the game-based learning model is effective in enhancing long jump skills among elementary school students.

Abstract

Karate merupakan salah satu cabang bela diri yang banyak digemari saat ini, tendangan Mawashi Geri adalah salah satu teknik yang diandalkan oleh para atlet karate untuk meraih poin. Namun, teknik ini masih sulit untuk dikuasai oleh para karateka karena memerlukan kebugaran fisik yang berkaitan dengan keterampilan seperti fleksibilitas dan tenaga ledak. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi hubungan antara kelentukan dan daya ledak dengan kemampuan tendangan Mawashi Geri pada atlet karate. Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan kuantitatif yang bersifat asosiatif, melibatkan sejumlah 20 atlet junior yang berada dalam rentang usia remaja hingga dewasa, diambil melalui metode purposive sampling. Prosedur serta instrumen yang digunakan untuk tendangan Mawashi Geri menggunakan tes tendangan. Untuk mengukur kelentukan, menggunakan tes Front-to-Rear-Split menggunakan alat Flexomeasure dan penggaris atau meteran. Untuk mengukur Daya Ledak menggunakan Standing Board Jump Test. Analisis data kemudian dilakukan dengan menerapkan statistik deskriptif serta analisis regresi. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukan bahwa kelentukan dan daya ledak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan tendangan Mawashi Geri atlet karate (p<0,05) dengan pengaruh simultan sebesar 7,10%. Pengaruh kelentukan sebesar 10,36% dan daya ledak sebesar 4,18%. Dari kedua faktor tersebut, kelentukan merupakan faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi tendangan mawashi geri tanpa mengabaikan faktor lainnya (daya ledak). Kesimpulan kelentukan yang maksimal dan daya ledak yang baik berpengaruh pada tendangan mawashi geri.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah keakuratan dan keterampilan shooting pemain futsal Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh latihan pliometrik dan teknik terhadap kemampuan menembak siswa SMA Negeri 2 Padang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang mencakup hasil pre-test dan post-test. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 27 orang pemain futsal, 15 orang diantaranya dipilih sebagai sampel. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan uji-t, dan hasilnya dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dengan taraf signifikansi ˑ = 0,05. Berdasarkan analisis diketahui terdapat peningkatan kemampuan shooting yang signifikan, dengan rasio pre-test 27,17 menjadi 37,25 post-test. Nilai thitung = 14,38 > ttabel = 1,796 menunjukkan ada pengaruh yang signifikan latihan pliometrik dan teknik terhadap kemampuan menembak atlet

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of a play-based sequential training method on the fundamental technical skills of Tarung Derajat fighters. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest approach was employed. The research population consisted of 263 male Tarung Derajat athletes at Kurata III (green belt) level in West Sumatra. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 40 athletes as research participants. The instrument used is a validated and reliable Fighter Basic Skills Test with a reliability value of 0.96 and validity ranging from 0.71–0.85. Data were analyzed using a t-test to determine differences in technical skill performance before and after the training intervention. The results revealed that the calculated t value (15.53) exceeded the critical t value (2.093) at a 0.05 significance level, indicating a significant effect of the intervention. Furthermore, the mean score of fundamental technical skills increased from 54.70 in the pretest to 56.47 in the posttest. These findings demonstrate that play-based sequential training significantly improves fundamental technical skills in Tarung Derajat fighters. This training approach is considered effective as it provides dynamic, contextual, and game-like practice conditions that closely resemble real combat situations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of mini-basketball dribbling training on eye-hand coordination in children with moderate intellectual disabilities in the SDLB Malang Regency. This study uses a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study sample consisted of students with moderate intellectual disabilities at the SDLB Widya Shantika Malang Regency. The sample selection in this study used purposive sampling, involving 6 children. Data collection techniques utilized a testing instrument, specifically a test measuring the distance a ball can be thrown by hand. Data were tested for normality using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and hypothesis testing using the paired sample t-test, assisted by the SPSS Statistics for Windows version 25 application. The data analysis technique used was the paired sample t-test with a significance level of α > 0.05. The results of this study indicate that mini basketball dribbling practice showed an improvement, but was not significant in terms of eye-hand coordination among children with moderate intellectual disabilities at the elementary school level at SLB Widya Shantika in Malang Regency. The statistical test results showed a significance value of 0.363. Since the significance value was > 0.05, the data was not significant. However, when comparing the average eye-hand coordination scores before the intervention (1.50) and after the intervention (1.83), the posttest average was higher than the pretest average, indicating an improvement in eye-hand coordination of 0.33.

Abstract

This study explores the flourishing experiences of student-athletes who navigate the dual challenges of academic and athletic commitments in Indonesian higher education. Within a context where student-athletes often face conflicts between training demands and educational expectations, the research aims to understand how they construct well-being and balance through the lens of positive psychology. Using a qualitative approach with Reflexive Thematic Analysis (RTA), eight participants from diverse sport disciplines were interviewed in depth. The PERMA (Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment) served as a sensitizing concept to guide analysis while remaining open to emergent themes. Findings reveal that flourishing develops through the adaptive integration of positive emotions, deep engagement, supportive social relationships, purposeful dual-role identity, and balanced achievements. Participants experienced a process of self-regulation, resilience, and meaning-making as they coped with physical fatigue, academic stress, and time management challenges. These processes reflected both hedonic and eudaimonic dimensions of well-being. The study underscores that flourishing is not a static state but a reflective and ecological process shaped by social support, institutional context, and personal strengths. The findings highlight the need for strength-based counseling programs and flexible institutional policies to sustain student-athletes’ holistic well-being and long-term academic–athletic harmony.

Abstract

Dribbling ability is one of the techniques that futsal players must have. The small field area requires players to have good dribbling skills in attacking, both when passing opponents and accelerating into the opponent's defense area. This study was conducted to determine the effect of speed, flexibility, and agility on dribbling ability. This type of research is quantitative research using the path analysis method. The population in this study was 25 Vamos Futsal Academy players. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique, resulting in a sample of 16 people. The instruments used in this study were 1) a 20-meter speed test, to measure speed, 2) a Sit and Reach Test, to measure flexibility, 3) a Zig-zag Run Test, to measure agility, and 4) a Slalom Dribbling Test, to measure a player's dribbling ability. The test results were analyzed using path analysis techniques to determine the pattern of relationships between variables. Data analysis includes several stages, namely: Data description, Normality test, and Linearity test. Path analysis was conducted to identify the extent of influence of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The results showed that speed, flexibility, and agility contributed 95.3% to dribbling ability. Meanwhile, 4.7% was influenced by other variables not included in this study. Therefore, it can be concluded that speed, flexibility, and agility are important factors that directly influence the dribbling ability of futsal players.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically review the literature related to the contribution of life skills-based physical education (PE) learning and learning outcomes to positive youth development (PYD). The method used in this study uses the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method, literature searches are carried out using digital databases (Google Scholar, Publish or Perish, Scopus and others). The results of the analysis show that the PE learning model integrated with life skills has a positive impact on social competence, emotional regulation, and increased self-confidence of students. In addition, the achievement of learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains also supports the achievement of key indicators in the PYD framework, such as competence, confidence, character, connection and caring (5Cs). This study recommends the systematic integration of life skills-based pedagogical approaches in the PE curriculum to facilitate learners' holistic development.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the effect of the Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) model on social skills and critical thinking abilities in Volleyball extracurricular activities. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method consisting of planning, conducting, and reporting stages. Literature was collected from Google Scholar, Publish or Perish, Scopus, and ERIC databases covering publications from 2014–2024. The PRISMA selection process resulted in 12 eligible articles. The synthesis findings indicate that TGfU consistently improves students’ social skills, including communication, teamwork, empathy, and responsibility through tactical discussions and collaborative game situations. Furthermore, TGfU contributes to the development of critical thinking skills through game analysis, decision-making processes, and reflective tactical discussions. Several studies also reveal gender-based differences in responses to the implementation of TGfU. Overall, TGfU is an effective pedagogical approach for enhancing both social and cognitive development in Volleyball extracurricular contexts.
