Abstract

Online learning in the pandemic is obstacle for both side of educational services user. Google Classroom learning media is one of the learning media that can support teaching and learning so that students can still attend school despite distance constraints. The purpose of this study is to describe the use Google Classroom and the obstacle faced in the learning process with Google Classroom as learning media. The research method used is the qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. This research was conducted at SDN Purwotomo No. 97 with a sample of 7 people. The instruments used are interviews, observations, and documentation. Based on the results of the study, the use of Google Classroom as a learning medium is considered effective by utilizing the features contained in Google Classroom and according to the circumstances of teachers and students. Common obstaacles are unstable signal networks and loss of students focus due pop-up notifications that appear during learning.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance reading comprehension skills through implementation of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition model. The subjects of the study are 26 students of the 4th grade in Pajang II elementary school, Laweyan, Surakarta. This research is Classroom Action Research consist of two cycles. Data collection is done by interviewing, observing, reading comprehension skills test, and document analysis. The data’s validity is done by using content validity, source triangulation, and technical triangulation. The data is analyzed using an interactive analysis model of Miles-Huberman and comparative descriptive model. The result of reading comprehension skills in pretest showed an average of 46,08. Then, in the first cycle, the average increase to 64,98 and become 83,5 on the second cycle. Thus, the conclusion that can be drawn regarding reading comprehension skills in 4th grade students of Pajang II elementary school academic year of 2019/2020 can be enhanced by applying Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition model.l

Abstract

This study aims to determine the problem of science learning practicum at MI Baitul Huda Sumur. Thes subjects of this study were the 5th grade students of MI Baitul Huda Sumur. This reseach is a qualitative descriptive study with a case study research type. The data collection techniques in this study were questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Practical problem data obtained from teachers and students. Researchers made direct observations in the field to see the facilities and infrastructure for practicum in schools. By using five problem indicators, namely facilities dan infrastructure, knowledge, strategy, assesments, and constraint. Using triangulation sources and triangulation techniques. Obtained the result that the use of facilities and infrastructure in schools is still low.

Abstract

This researchaimsto provide an overview of the effectiveness of using the WhatsApp application as a media for learning the Indonesian language at home. This research includes qualitative research with descriptivemethods and phenomenological approaches. Teachers and students of class V SD Negeri Pajang IV Surakarta that in total 27 students, were the subject of the study. Data collection techniques were used interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data validity test technique was used triangulation techniques. The data analysis technique was based on Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis technique through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the use of the WhatsApp application as a media for learning the Indonesian language at home could be categorized as effective. Of the 11 descriptors 9 descriptors of media effectiveness have been achieved in the use of the WhatsApp application as a media for Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the basic teaching skills of teachers in the fourth grade social studies subject at SDN Dukuhan Kerten No.58 Surakarta. Basic teaching skills are vital to be possessed and dominated by an teacher in the learning process. This study is a qualitative examination with a descriptive technique utilizing a phenomenological approach. The strategy of taking the subject utilized was purposive sampling method. Teacher, students, and headmaster as a source of data. Data collections using observation, interview, questionnaries, and documentation. The data validity test was using triangulation method. The data that has been obtained were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model to analyze the completion steps in accordance with the indicators of basic teaching skills. The result analyze of the investigation show that the  teacher has dominated 8 basic teaching skills, including: basic and advanced questioning skills, the teacher has paid attention to how to ask questions to students properly and correctly. In affirming skills, the educator has given verbal support. In the application of the skills to variation, the teacher has utilized learning media as pictures to help the learning process. In explaining skills, in explaining the teacher emphasizes the important points to be conveyed on to students. For the skills of opening and closing lessons, the teacher has likewise executed it well, the teacher gives inspiration to follow-up as every day assessments for every exercise. The application of small group discussion guiding skills, the teacher divides students into groups, organizing group discussions, observe and supervise each group, and concentrates of student in the group. In applying the class management skills, the teacher consistently gives oversight to student in the classroom. And on the application of small group and/or individual teaching skills, the teacher has set up great associations with student and parents of student to facilitate the learning process both at school and at home

Abstract

This research aims to determine the discipline of learning fifth grade student at SDN Dukuhan Kerten No. 58 Surakarta. This research used a qualitative approach with the subject being the fifth grade students of SDN Dukuhan Kerten No. 58 Surakarta. In data collection, researchers used methods of observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The techniques used in this study are data collection, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. To the test validity of the data using triangulation method. Based on the results of the research, it was concluded that the fifth grade students’ learning discipline SDN Dukuhan Kerten No. 58 Surakarta is good. This can be seen from the discipline students, among there; (1) students take online learning on time, (2) collect assignments according to the specified time, and (3) wearing uniforms when online learning takes place. The results showed discipline of learning had been implemented but was not maximal because of the obtacles : 1) limited smartphone, 2) availability of smartphone, 3) parental assistance, 4) parent’s attention to students, and 5) unstable internet network.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to finds out the effect of Think Talk Write (TTW) model and learning motivation on pantun writing skills. This form of research is a quasi-experimental. The population in this research is the fourth grades students of Public Elementary School in Laweyan district. Sampling techniques is using cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques are using tests and questionnaire. Data analysis technique is using two ways anova. The results revealed that the Think Talk Write (TTW) model give a positive effect on pantun writing skills (FA = 6,55 > Ftabel = 4,09), the learning motivation give a positive effect on pantun writing skills (FB = 45,74 > Ftabel = 4,09), and there is interaction between model of learning and learning motivation on pantun writing skills (FAB = 4,17 > Ftabel = 4,09). Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the Think Talk Write (TTW) model and learning motivation give a positive effect on pantun writing skills. The implication of this research is that the Think Talk Write model can be an alternative in learning to write, because it is proven to have a good influence on pantun writing skills.Keyword : Think Talk Write (TTW), learning motivation, pantun writing skills, elementary school

Abstract

Distance learning is a learning method used during the Covid-19 pandemic. In the learning process, teachers and students learn separately. The purpose of this study was to analyze student learning independence in the distance learning system during the Covid-19 pandemic. In this research, the research methodology uses descriptive qualitative, the subjects to be studied were the teachers and students of class VB SDN Dukuhan Kerten No. 58 Surakarta for the 2020/2021 school year with a total of 26 students.. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and questionnaires (questionnaires). The data validation used source and technique triangulation. Data analysis using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.From the research results, learning independence includes 5 indicators, namely self-confidence, discipline, responsibility, initiative in learning, and not depending on others. The highest indicators of independence are responsibility, then confidence, discipline, initiative in learning and the last one is not dependent on others. Distance learning that is carried out should be able to develop learning independence and be able to overcome obstacles amid existing limitations.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of the internalization of character education which is limited to honest and disciplined characters in learning mathematics at SD Negeri 1 Kalinanas Boyolali in the 2020/2021 school year. One way to internalize honest and disciplined character values is through the role of the teacher. Teachers are parents of students in a school environment. So the role of the teacher is so meaningful in shaping the personality of students outside of the influence of their environment. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The phenomological approach is the research approach used by researchers. Primary data sources are the results of interviews and subject observations. The student character assessment document became a secondary source of research. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and document study. Technique triangulation is a technique that is done by checking data with the same source but with different techniques. Furthermore, the results of the document analysis were compared with the interviews and observations made to the teacher. The data analysis technique used three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that the subjects had met 8 of the 10 indicators of the internalization process of honest and disciplined values in mathematics learning at SD Kalinanas Boyolali in the 2020/2021 academic year. There are two obstacles experienced by research subjects.

Abstract

The reserach aims to: (1) describe the implementation of the School Literacy Program and (2) describe the efforts of the school to support the implementation of School Literacy Program. This research uses a qualitative approach with case study methods. The research subjects involved were fourth grade students of Bumi 1 Elementary School, Surakarta. Research data collection techniques using observation and interviews. The validity of research data uses triangulation techniques. Data were analyzed using an interactive model, consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the implementation of School Literacy Program at Bumi 1 Elementary School had been scheduled on a Monday to Friday basis for approximately 30 minutes every day. The implementation of School Literacy Program includes reading literacy, numeracy literacy, cultural literacy, and religious literacy. The conclusions of this research are: (1) the implementation of the School Literacy Program program in Bumi 1 Elementary School has been running on a routine daily schedule; (2) The efforts of the school in implementing School Literacy Program involve the efforts of principals and teachers to increase student interest and activity in School Literacy Program.
