Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorders and mobility limitations are prevalent health concerns in urban communities. Inadequate understanding of safe movement patterns and the absence of structured physical activity often increase the risk of injury and reduce quality of life. To address this issue, a Community Service Program (PKM) titled “Injury Prevention and Mobility Enhancement for the Community in Open Public Spaces in Jakarta” was conducted at the Car Free Day (CFD) area of Monas. The program involved 119 participants, with 50 completing both pre- and post-test evaluations. The primary goal was to enhance movement literacy and raise awareness of safe mobility practices. Activities were organized into preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. Interactive education was delivered through counseling and demonstrations of dynamic warm-ups, balance exercises, core strengthening, and posture correction. Results showed marked improvement: participants scoring <50% decreased from 36% to 4%, while 80% achieved scores ≥70, confirming the effectiveness of practice-based community education in open space.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in Indonesia’s economy, particularly as major contributors to employment and the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). One of the promising MSMEs is Rumah Jamu Mirasa in Sawangan Village, Wonosobo Regency. However, this business faces challenges in its conventional marketing methods, which result in relatively low income. This community service program aims to enhance the competitiveness of Rumah Jamu Mirasa through the implementation of digital marketing. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving MSME actors actively in problem identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The results show an increase in MSME actors’ understanding of digital marketing strategies and a rise in sales turnover after utilizing social media and e-commerce. These findings demonstrate that digitalization has a positive impact on MSME development, particularly in expanding market access and increasing sales. This program is expected to serve as a model for empowering local MSMEs to compete in the digital era.

Abstract

The increasing phenomenon of genital reassignment surgery in the modern era has sparked debate between medical necessity and Islamic legal principles. In the field of contemporary fiqh, this issue is crucial to study as it relates to preserving the natural disposition (fitrah) created by Allah and ensuring human well-being (maslahah). The aim of this research is to examine contemporary fiqh perspectives on the legal rulings regarding genital reassignment surgery and to distinguish between medically permissible procedures and those prohibited due to personal motives. Using a literature study method and a descriptive approach, this study explores various scholarly sources, including journals, books, and articles, to highlight the importance of contemporary fiqh views on genital surgery. The findings indicate that Islam permits genital surgery when intended for healing or correcting congenital abnormalities (khuntsa) and restoring organ function, but prohibits it when performed solely to change one’s gender identity. Based on the 1980 fatwa issued by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), such procedures do not alter a person’s legal gender status. Therefore, contemporary fiqh emphasizes the importance of maintaining a balance between advancements in medical science and the principles of Sharia in determining the legal status of genital surgery.

Abstract

The community service conducted at Universitas Pendidikan Nasional aims to provide education on designing the front-end of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system using Angular as an effort to improve students’ coding skills. The problems identified include participants’ limited understanding of Angular concepts and difficulties in designing a structured system interface. The activities were carried out through several stages, namely material preparation, interactive education, coding practice, and evaluation. The analysis shows an improvement in participants’ understanding of Angular project structure, skills in writing organized code, and the ability to build a simple EMR interface prototype. The conclusion of this activity is that practice-based education proves effective in enhancing students’ coding competence, while the recommendation is the need for continuous updates to the framework used so that the acquired skills remain relevant to technological developments.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in driving economic growth, particularly at the local level. However, many MSMEs still face challenges in systematic financial management and recording, which makes it difficult to measure business performance and make informed decisions. This community service activity was conducted in Curug Tourism Village, Bogor Regency, with the aim of improving MSME capacity through training in accurate financial bookkeeping. The training employed an educational and participatory approach, covering five main topics: cash control, simple bookkeeping, calculating the cost of goods manufactured (COGS), introduction to taxation, and digital marketing. Evaluation results using pre- and post-test questionnaires showed a significant increase in participants' understanding. One of the largest improvements was seen in the ability to record transactions independently, from an average score of 2.1 to 3.9. These findings demonstrate that hands-on training can significantly strengthen financial literacy and business management skills among MSMEs.

Abstract

Menopause is a natural biological phase in women that is characterized by the cessation of the menstrual cycle due to a decrease in the hormones estrogen and progesterone. A decrease in this hormone has implications for an increased risk of hypertension and degenerative diseases such as diabetes and osteoporosis. This phenomenon is also seen in the elderly in RW 07, Tanah Tinggi Village, Central Jakarta, with a prevalence of hypertension of 48.8% and diabetes mellitus of 16.3%. This community service aims to increase the knowledge and awareness of the elderly about the effects of menopause, the risk of hypertension, degenerative diseases, and provide health screening in the form of blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar checks during (GDS). The activity was held on July 11, 2025 with 82 elderly participants aged 40–72 years. The material was delivered through lectures and interactive discussions by supervisors and students, with PPT and leaflet media. Knowledge evaluation using pre-test and post-test was carried out on 35 participants who completed the questionnaire. The results showed an increase in the average score from 6.1 to 8.5, indicating an increase in understanding of educational materials. It also provides free health screening, allowing for early detection of the risk of degenerative diseases. The results of this service are in line with the literature that states that community-based education is effective in improving health literacy for the elderly. The combination of education and health screening has proven to be the right strategy for preventing complications of degenerative diseases....

Abstract

Stunting is a condition in which children under five years of age fail to achieve optimal growth as a result of chronic inadequate nutritional intake. As a consequence, their height is significantly below the average for their age group. This condition negatively affects both physical and cognitive development, increases the risk of chronic diseases later in life, and ultimately reduces the quality of a nation’s human resources. In Indonesia, stunting remains a major public health concern, influenced by multiple factors including maternal nutritional status, maternal height, limited access to adequate antenatal care (ANC), low birth weight (LBW), and short birth intervals. Adequate maternal nutrition is particularly crucial, as it has a direct impact on fetal growth and development. On July 7, 2025, pregnant women and women of reproductive age in RW 07, Tanah Tinggi, Johar Baru District, participated in a health education program aimed to strengthen family knowledge about stunting, so it can be prevented in children both now and in the future. The activity consisted of a pre-test assessment, followed by the distribution of educational topics covering the definition, prevalence, causes, consequences, and preventive strategies related to stunting. Additional topics addressed maternal nutrition, danger signs in pregnancy, and risk factors that may compromise fetal development. A post-test was administered afterward to evaluate the improvement in participants’ knowledge. The evaluation demonstrated a substantial increase in knowledge. The average score improved from 5.4 on the pre-test to 9.6 on the post-test. These findings indicate that health education is effective in....

Abstract

Abstract

To reduce health risks and encourage self-defense, early adolescence is a crucial time to introduce instruction on personal body safety and good hygiene practices. An efficient platform for delivering such instruction in an age-appropriate and structured way is offered by school-based interventions. The purpose of this community service program was to increase primary school kids' understanding of and proficiency with body autonomy and Personal Hygiene and Clean Living (PHBS). Methods: 86 students ages 10–13 participated in a descriptive participatory study using a one-group pre-test–post-test design. Interactive lectures, games, simulations, demonstrations, and Q&A sessions were all part of the intervention. Direct observation of hygiene routines, random oral questioning, and pre- and post-test questionnaires were used for evaluation. Results: Understanding of private body parts, personal boundaries, and hygiene ideas improved after the intervention. Throughout the lessons, students engaged in active participation and demonstrated proper handwashing and toothbrushing procedures. Effective knowledge transfer was enhanced by high levels of enthusiasm during interactive and ice-breaking activities. In conclusion, the program successfully improved primary school pupils' short-term knowledge and practical hygiene abilities. As a long-term approach to school-based health education, integrating body-safety instruction with PHBS promotion through participatory approaches is advised.

Abstract

Hypertension is a significant global health problem with an increasing prevalence. It is the leading cause of cardiovascular disease and premature death worldwide due to its impact on vital organs and its association with chronic kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, and obesity. Despite the availability of various current management strategies, many patients still fail to achieve adequate blood pressure (BP) control. Cardiovascular mortality related to hypertension continues to rise along with the global increase in chronic kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, and obesity. Therefore, improving BP control must be prioritized urgently. Most individuals are unaware that they suffer from hypertension even when they experience its symptoms. The lack of public awareness in monitoring blood pressure and the limited knowledge about hypertension and its management often result in recurrent increases in blood pressure and, in many cases, severe complications. In Ranging Hamlet, most elderly residents suffer from hypertension, and some even experience multiple complications. Blood pressure screening and hypertension education can help in monitoring and controlling blood pressure, providing understanding on how to prevent or manage hypertension, and raising awareness about adopting a healthy lifestyle to avoid hypertension. This activity began with the preparation and implementation stages. After the community service (PKM) for the elderly conducted on October 18, 2024, the results showed that the elderly participants became aware of their blood pressure levels and gained improved knowledge and understanding of hypertension and its management.
