Abstract

Hypertension is one of the deadliest diseases in the world that can attack anyone, both young and old. Hypertension sufferers have poorer sleep quality compared to those with normal blood pressure. This research is a quantitative research using a Quasi-Experimental Design. This research aimed to determine the effect of a combination of warm water foot baths and lavender essential oil aromatherapy on sleep quality in adults with hypertension. Wilcoxon test results (p = 0.004), which means that there is an effect of combination therapy with warm water foot baths and lavender essential oil aromatherapy on the sleep quality of adults with hypertension. The feet have many thermoreceptors and a high density of capillaries. Soaking your feet in warm water can help prepare the body for sleep naturally and quickly trigger peripheral vasodilation. There are two main ways to apply aromatherapy: topically and through inhalation. Lavender essential oil is said to activate the limbic system, especially the hippocampus and amygdala. Combining warm foot baths with aromatherapy would be a rational approach to the management of sleep disorders in adult patients with hypertension.

Abstract

A frequent work accident in the hospitals is needle stick injury. Nurses always contact with blood, patient’s body fluids, punctured needles used by patients and other dangers which can be a medium of disease transmission. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and needle stick injury prevention behavior. This study used a correlational analytical design with a cross-sectional method, and used cluster sampling techniques to obtain 88 respondents. The data were gathered by using the Lubis questionnaire to measure knowledge and behavior in the prevention of needle stick injury. Then, the data were analyzed by a contingency coefficient test. It was found that 83 nurses (94.3%) had good knowledge and 85 nurses (96.6%) had good behavior. The data about nurses’ knowledge was analyzed and obtained a value of p = 0.000 and a value of contingency coefficient = 0.444, meaning that there was a relationship between knowledge and needle stick injury prevention behavior. Prevention efforts can be carried out by providing guidance, training, direction, and supervision, so that nurses’ awareness increase and they can work safely.

Pregnancy is a physiological and normal process, which is not only related to the biological aspect but also related to the social, cultural, psychological, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a woman’s life. Support is one of the important things to build coping mechanisms for self-adaptation in accepting conditions in pregnant women. The research aimed to determine the relationship between the husband’s support and self-adaptation of primigravida pregnant women. The research design was a cross-sectional approach. The independent variable was the husband’s support and the dependent variable was the self-adaptation of primigravida pregnant women. The population is primigravida pregnant women in Alas Rajah Village, Blega District, Bangkalan Regency. It is 47 with a sample of 42 pregnant women using probability sampling with a random sampling technique. The data collection technique used questionnaires. The statistical test uses the Spearman rank test with (a≤ 0.05). The research results showed that 24 people (57.1%) showed good husband support and 19 people (45.2%) showed good self-adaptation of primigravida pregnant women. The results of the Spearman test, the value p=0.000, means that there is a relationship between husband’s support and self-adaptation of primigravida pregnant women, with a correlation coefficient of 0.774, it means the level of strong relationship between husband’s support and self-adaptation in primigravida pregnant women. It is recommended that husbands provide full support so that the pregnant women feel they get the attention and therefore they can adapt to pregnancy conditions. This will have a positive impact on the continuity of the pregnancy.

Abstract

The birth process is interpreted by a mother as a difficult process and full of struggle so it causes anxiety for pregnant women in facing childbirth. Excessive anxiety has a negative impact on the birth process and even causes birth complications. This study aimed to determine the relationship between marriage satisfaction and the anxiety of pregnant women in facing childbirth. This research used a cross-sectional method and the number of pregnant women in the Central Jakarta area with a sample size of 110 people. The research instrument used the Pregnancy-Related Anxiety Questionnaire-Revised 2 (PRAQ-2) questionnaire and the Marital Adjustment Test (MAT) questionnaire. In this study, data analysis used the Spearman Rho test. The results of this study show that there is a significant relationship between marriage satisfaction and anxiety about facing childbirth (p value=0.036). Marriage satisfaction has a fairly large influence on pregnant women's anxiety in facing childbirth in the moderate category (R Square=0.051). The role of the maternity nurse is to be able to take preventive measures to reduce the heavy or excessive anxiety of pregnant women through mentoring and counseling programs together with the family, especially the husband.

Abstract

The high number of cervical cancer cases is still a big problem in Indonesia. Preventive measures that can be taken are early detection and vaccination against HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). However, the behavior of taking HPV vaccination is still low and is still influenced by several factors, according to the Health Belief Model theory, namely perception. This research is to identify and analyze perceptions using the Health Belief Model approach of HPV vaccination. The design used in this research is descriptive-analytical cross-sectional. The research was conducted in July-September 2023 at the Blahbatuh I Public Health Centre. The instrument used was a questionnaire about the mother's perception of the Health Belief Model with results reliability test 0.8614. Data were analyzed using SPSS with univariate and bivariate tests with Chi-Square. The components of the healing belief model that have a relationship with cervical cancer prevention behavior through HPV vaccination are perceived seriousness with p-value = 0.001 (p<0.05), perceived vulnerability with p-value = 0.001 (p<0.05), perceived benefits with p-value = 0.001 (p<0.05), perceived obstacles with p-value = 0.001 (p<0.05), and action to act with p-value = 0.001 (p<0.05). Maternal perceptions about the seriousness, susceptibility, benefits, barriers, and actions have a significant relationship with mother’s prevention behavior regarding HPV vaccination.

Abstract

Electronic Nursing Documentation (END) use in hospitals has increased along with the development of technology. Hence, nursing education needs to synergize to adopt the use of END. However, preceptors have varying perceptions regarding their application in nursing clinical practice. The study aims to determine the preceptor's perception of using END based on the Acceptance Model (TAM) Technology. In the descriptive research design, the population is clinical preceptors in hospitals, and purposive sampling was used to obtain a total of 90 samples. The research instruments used Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU). The analysis uses frequency distribution. The study's results on the PU variable obtained the perception of the preceptor about the use of END in all indicators, generally in the high category of more than 90%. In the PEOU variable, most clinical preceptors had a moderate perception of the clarity indicator 71 (78.9%), and a high perception of the flexibility of use indicator as much as 69 (76.7%). A positive perception of technology can be formed if users find the technology practical and easy to use.

The instrument used was a questionnaire and data analysis using the Pearson Chi Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents' gender was female (65%), the majority of respondents' last education was elementary school or equivalent (49%), the majority of respondents' spiritual health was in the moderate category (68%) and the majority of respondents' quality of life was in the good category (69%). The results of the Pearson Chi Square test analysis showed that there was a statistically significant relationship between the fulfillment of basic human needs for spiritual health and the quality of life of cancer patients (p=0.018). The entire health team caring for patients with cancer should be able to fulfill the spiritual needs of patients as much as possible by involving support from the family.
