Abstract

Anime binge-watching has emerged as a significant cultural trend, yet the pathway from this activity to active participation in cosplay remains insufficiently studied. This research explores how social influence and hedonic motivation contribute to this transition, offering broader insights into media consumption and fan engagement behaviors. Employing a quantitative survey approach, data were collected from 412 followers of Rafcreative, an Instagram-based community actively engaged in anime and cosplay events. The study utilizes path analysis through AMOS to examine the direct and indirect effects of social influence and hedonic motivation on cosplay participation, with binge-watching behavior as a mediating factor. The findings show that anime binge-watching plays a key mediating role between both social influence and hedonic motivation about cosplay engagement. Social influence positively impacts both binge-watching and cosplay participation, while hedonic motivation exerts an even more substantial influence on binge-watching and indirectly enhances cosplay involvement. These results underscore the importance of enjoyment-driven and socially influenced behaviors in shaping the experiences of anime fans. The study advances our understanding of fan engagement by outlining how media consumption can evolve into participatory practices, offering practical implications for event organizers and media producers seeking to build deeper connections within anime fan communities.

Abstract

The influence of transformational leadership and job satisfaction on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in a VUCA organizational environment at Central Bureau of Statistics, West Java Province Over a four-year period, from 2019 to 2022, the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) at Statistics Indonesia (BPS) demonstrated an upward trend. However, based on a Gap Analysis between service satisfaction levels and consumer importance levels, there remains a discrepancy indicating that, on average, consumers feel the service performance has not fully met their expectations or needs. Additionally, BPS faces challenges from a complex and dynamic organizational environment often described by the term VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity). This study aims to evaluate the impact of transformational leadership on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. The respondents of this study comprised 92 employees at the BPS Regional Office of West Java Province, including operational staff and functional officers. A quantitative approach was adopted, with data collected through online questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The study's results reveal that transformational leadership indirectly influences OCB through job satisfaction as a mediating variable. Furthermore, transformational leadership directly and significantly impacts job satisfaction, while job satisfaction also directly and substantially affects OCB. Dalam kurun waktu empat tahun, dari 2019 hingga 2022, indeks kepuasan pelanggan (Customer Satisfaction Index/CSI) di Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) menunjukkan tren peningkatan. Namun, jika ditinjau dari hasil Analisis Kesenjangan (GAP) antara tingkat kepuasan layanan dengan tingkat kepentingan konsumen, terdapat selisih yang mengindikasikan bahwa rata-rata konsumen merasa kinerja pelayanan belum sepenuhnya memenuhi ekspektasi atau kebutuhan mereka. Selain itu, BPS menghadapi tantangan lingkungan organisasi yang kompleks dan dinamis, sering dirujuk dengan istilah VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dampak kepemimpinan transformasional (Transformational Leadership) terhadap perilaku kewargaan organisasi (Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), dengan kepuasan kerja (Job Satisfaction) sebagai variabel yang memediasi hubungan tersebut. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah 92 pegawai BPS Provinsi Jawa Barat, yang meliputi staf pelaksana serta pejabat fungsional. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif, dengan data yang dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner daring dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung terhadap OCB melalui kepuasan kerja sebagai variabel mediasi. Selain itu, kepemimpinan transformasional terbukti memiliki pengaruh langsung dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja, sementara kepuasan kerja juga memberikan pengaruh langsung dan signifikan terhadap OCB.

Abstract

The communication strategy of Indonesia’s Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) in realizing the “one plantation data” initiative This study aims to understand how the Communication Strategies of the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS) innovate to develop a data collection system for large companies under BPS’s responsibility. The informants in this research are Civil Servants from the Directorate of Statistics for Food Crops, Horticulture, and Plantations and representatives from plantation companies. The research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Theories applied include the Interpersonal Communication Theory by Joseph A. Devito and the Diffusion of Innovations Theory by Everett M. Rogers. The findings of this study indicate that the interpersonal communication strategies implemented, including openness, empathy, supportive attitudes, positive feelings, and equality, are vital in developing an innovative data collection system for large companies. The centralized diffusion communication model implies that the dissemination of innovation is carried out linearly from BPS to the relevant stakeholders through team coordination, involvement of plantation companies, the development of the Sedia Data Perkebunan Online system (SEDAPP Online), and training for operators from each company. Through SEDAPP Online, BPS can engage stakeholders actively in realizing "One Data for Plantations". It is hoped that BPS can apply this model to various future data collection activities across different sectors. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana Strategi Komunikasi BPS dalam berinovasi untuk membangun sistem pengumpulan data perusahaan besar yang menjadi tanggung jawab BPS. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah Apararatur Sipil negara (ASN) Direktorat Statistik Tanamaman Pangan, Hortikultura, dan Perkebunan, dan perwakilan perusahaan perkebunan. Metode penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teori yang digunakan adalah Teori Komunikasi Interpersonal menurut Joseph A Devito dan Teori Difusi Inovasi milik Everett M Rogers. Hasil dari penelitian ini menemukan bahwa strategi komunikasi interpersonal yang diterapkan meliputi keterbukaan, empati, sikap mendukung, rasa positif, dan kesetaraan menjadi instrumen penting dalam membangun sebuah inovasi sistem pengumpulan data pada perusahaan besar. Model komunikasi sistem difusi tersentralisasi yang berarti penyebaran inovasi dilakukan secara linear dari BPS kepada stakeholder terkait melalui pelaksanaan koordinasi tim, pelibatan Perusahaan Perkebunan, Pembangunan system Sedia Data Perkebunan Online (SEDAPP Online), dan pelatihan terhadap operator dari masing-masing Perusahaan. Melalui SEDAPP Online BPS mampu untuk mengajak stakeholder berkontribusi aktif dalam mewujudkan “Satu Data Perkebunan”. Kedepan harapannya BPS mampu menerapkan model ini dalam berbagai kegiatan pengumpulan data pada berbagai sektor.

Abstract

Librarians’ communication for fostering comfort and trust in the Al Binaa Islamic Junior High School library This study aims to examine the role of interpersonal communication by librarians in improving library accreditation at SMP IT Al Binaa, Bekasi Regency. The research focuses on identifying the factors influencing the effectiveness of communication between librarians and library stakeholders, including students, teachers, and school staff, in enhancing the library’s overall performance and accreditation status. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results highlight that effective interpersonal communication, characterized by trust, clarity, and empathy, significantly improves library services, fosters collaboration, and supports accreditation processes. Additionally, the study found that librarians' ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and address their needs plays a critical role in the library’s success in meeting accreditation standards. This research provides valuable insights for educational institutions seeking to enhance library services and accreditation through effective communication strategies. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memeriksa peran komunikasi interpersonal oleh pustakawan dalam meningkatkan akreditasi perpustakaan di SMP IT Al Binaa, Kabupaten Bekasi. Penelitian ini berfokus pada identifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi efektivitas komunikasi antara pustakawan dan pemangku kepentingan perpustakaan, termasuk siswa, guru, dan staf sekolah, dalam meningkatkan kinerja keseluruhan perpustakaan dan status akreditasi. Menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, pengamatan, dan analisis dokumen. Hasilnya menyoroti bahwa komunikasi interpersonal yang efektif, ditandai dengan kepercayaan, kejelasan, dan empati, secara signifikan berkontribusi untuk meningkatkan layanan perpustakaan, mendorong kolaborasi, dan mendukung proses akreditasi. Selain itu, penelitian menemukan bahwa kemampuan pustakawan untuk terlibat dengan beragam pemangku kepentingan dan memenuhi kebutuhan mereka memainkan peran penting dalam keberhasilan perpustakaan dalam memenuhi standar akreditasi. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan berharga bagi institusi pendidikan yang ingin meningkatkan layanan perpustakaan dan akreditasi melalui strategi komunikasi yang efektif.

Abstract

This study delves into the intricate relationship between employee behavior and the efficacy of organizational changes within Balai Besar Bahan dan Barang Teknik, under the Indonesian Ministry of Industry. Employing a quantitative methodology, the research engaged with 32 dedicated employees at Balai Besar Bahan dan Barang Teknik, Ministry of Industry, uncovering valuable insights. These insights illuminate the critical role of employee behavior in shaping the brand's resonance and organizational transformation. The study reveals a web of correlations: a positive link between employee voice and change effectiveness, a negative association between employee exits and performance, an adverse connection between neglect and job satisfaction, and a robust bond between employee loyalty and resilience. These findings signify that within the Balai Besar Bahan dan Barang Teknik narrative, the employees who voice their concerns are more likely to perceive organizational changes as effective, bolstering brand awareness. Conversely, employees contemplating an exit demonstrate diminished performance, underscoring the pivotal role of employee engagement in upholding the brand's strength. Employee neglect points to a potential dent in job satisfaction, an aspect integral to brand loyalty. Moreover, unwavering employee loyalty is a cornerstone for resilience in the face of change, vital for brand continuity and brand awareness. In the larger context, these findings hold profound implications for policymakers and practitioners engaged in the realm of organizational change. The insights gleaned provide the foundation for strategic policies that encourage employee voice and reinforce brand loyalty, resulting in increased brand awareness. Practitioners can leverage these insights to craft change management strategies that dismantle resistance, ensuring successful change implementation and further enhancing brand recognition.

Abstract

Evaluation of the sewing training program at the UPTD BLK in Palangka Raya City using the CIPPO Model The objective of this study is to evaluate the achievement of a training program as an effort to assess its effectiveness at the Regional Technical Implementation Unit of the Vocational Training Center (UPTD BLK) in Palangka Raya City, with a specific focus on the sewing training program. The program evaluation concentrates on five key aspects: context, input, process, product, and outcomes. The theoretical discussion in this study applies a descriptive mixed-methods approach, utilizing the CIPPO evaluation model. The data analysis process includes data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verifying, with data validation conducted through triangulation and member checking. The overall findings of the program evaluation indicate that the implementation of the vocational training program at UPTD BLK Palangka Raya has been carried out fairly well. Among the five aspects analyzed, the product aspect is of particular concern, as the graduation rate of sewing training participants who achieved BNSP national standard certification has not yet reached 100%. Meanwhile, the outcome evaluation, which measures the effectiveness of the competency-based program, showed a 95% achievement rate, reflecting very strong performance. The main challenge identified involves maximizing the use of available equipment, including sharing the use of overlock (obras) sewing machines, allowing participants to continue practicing throughout the training. Additionally, these issues are reported in the program’s final report to the Palangka Raya City Government. Tujuan daripada penelitian ini guna mengevaluasi pencapaian program pelatihan sebagai upaya dalam menilai efektivitas program tersebut di Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah Balai Latihan Kerja Kota Palangka Raya, secara khusus pada bidang pelatihan menjahit. Evaluasi program memfokuskan pada 5 (lima) aspek: context, input, process, product, dan outcomes. Pembahasan teori dalam penelitian mengenai program ini menerapkan metode deskriptif mixed methods, dengan evaluasi model CIPPO. Analisa data meliputi data collection, data condensation, data display, conclusion, drawing/verifying serta dilakukan validasi data melalui triangulasi dan member check. Temuan penelitian evaluasi program secara keseluruhan, hasil evaluasi mengungkapkan bahwa pelaksanaan program pelatihan kerja di UPTD BLK Kota Palangka Raya telah berjalan dengan cukup baik. Di antara lima aspek yang dianalisis, aspek product menjadi perhatian utama, karena tingkat kelulusan peserta pelatihan menjahit dengan sertifikasi standar nasional BNSP belum mencapai 100%. Sementara itu, hasil evaluasi outcome yang mengukur efektivitas program berbasis kompetensi menunjukkan pencapaian 95%, yang mencerminkan kinerja sangat baik. Kendala yang ada yaitu dengan memaksimalkan penggunaan peralatan yang ada, menggunakan mesin obras secara bergantian, sehingga peserta tetap bisa melakukan praktik selama pelatihan, serta menyampaikan permasalahan dalam laporan akhir program kepada Pemda Kota Palangka Raya.

Abstract

The complexity of communication failure: An analysis of internal and external factors of ATC at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Research This research aims to analyze the complexity of communication failure between the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) and the pilot in the Jakarta Flight Information Region (FIR) airspace, with a focus on the internal and external factors that influence it. internal and external factors that influence it. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kompleksitas kegagalan komunikasi (communication failure) antara Air Traffic Controller (ATC) dan pilot di wilayah udara Jakarta Flight Information Region (FIR), dengan fokus pada faktor-faktor internal dan eksternal yang mempengaruhinya. Kegagalan komunikasi dalam penerbangan merupakan ancaman serius terhadap keselamatan dan efisiensi operasional, terutama di wilayah udara padat seperti FIR Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, yang melibatkan wawancara mendalam dengan 17 narasumber dari Jakarta Air Traffic Service Centre (JATSC), observasi langsung di lokasi, serta kajian terhadap dokumen dan sumber sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegagalan komunikasi dipengaruhi oleh interaksi kompleks antara faktor internal seperti kapasitas dan kesiapan personel ATC, keandalan teknologi komunikasi, pelaksanaan prosedur operasional, serta kondisi psikologis petugas; dan faktor eksternal seperti kepadatan lalu lintas udara, kondisi cuaca ekstrem, lingkungan kerja yang bising, serta koordinasi antarinstansi. Jenis kegagalan komunikasi yang ditemukan meliputi total dan partial communication failure, gangguan radio, kerusakan transponder, pemadaman komunikasi (blackout), dan kesalahan interpretasi oleh pilot. Pemahaman terhadap dinamika ini penting dalam merancang strategi mitigasi yang adaptif untuk menjamin keselamatan penerbangan.

Abstract

Pronojiwo District has a geological uniqueness because some areas are close to the Mount Semeru area. The history of the eruption of Mount Semeru on December 4, 2021, which had a wide impact on society and the environment. This study aims to identify the potential and formulate a strategy for developing dark tourism in the slopes of Mount Semeru, especially in Pronojiwo District, Lumajang Regency. The research method uses a qualitative and quantitative descriptive approach to understand the potential, challenges, and management models for dark tourism on the slopes of Mount Semeru. The results of the study show that the potential for dark tourism was identified through spatial analysis of affected locations and mapping of tourist attractions such as Tumpak Sewu, Kapas Biru, Kali Kebo, Sarkawi, and Sumberurip which are within a radius of <5 km from the center of volcanic activity. In addition, Pronojiwo District is in quadrant I (Strength-Opportunity), indicating high potential for growth-based development. The development strategy focuses on two main aspects: improving destination management (attraction, promotion, institutions) and strengthening human resources (training, disaster literacy, and certification of tourism actors). This study shows that community-based dark tourism in the Semeru area can be a model for developing reflective and educational tourism in Indonesia, while also contributing to strengthening the local economy, disaster awareness, and community resilience.

Abstract

Implementation of gender equality-based education in preventing sexual violence in schools This article aims to analyze the implementation of gender equality-based education as a preventive strategy in preventing sexual violence in the school environment. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, which includes analyzing academic journals, educational policies, and relevant official documents. The results of the study show that gender equality education is able to increase students' critical awareness of the issue of sexual violence, form social norms that reject violence, and create an inclusive and safe school environment. This education also encourages the active involvement of teachers and students in building a culture of mutual respect. However, resistance to gender education arising from various social and political actors indicates the need for a contextual and culturally sensitive approach. In conclusion, gender equality-based education is not only important as an effort to protect students, but also as a means of social and cultural transformation in the education system. Its implementation must be holistic, sustainable, and involve all elements of society in order to have a real impact in preventing sexual violence in schools. This article makes a conceptual contribution to the development of education policies that are more equitable and responsive to gender issues. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan pendidikan berbasis kesetaraan gender sebagai strategi preventif dalam mencegah kekerasan seksual di lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur, yang mencakup analisis terhadap jurnal akademik, kebijakan pendidikan, serta dokumen-dokumen resmi yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan kesetaraan gender mampu meningkatkan kesadaran kritis siswa terhadap isu kekerasan seksual, membentuk norma sosial yang menolak kekerasan, serta menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang inklusif dan aman. Pendidikan ini juga mendorong keterlibatan aktif guru dan siswa dalam membangun budaya saling menghormati. Namun, resistensi terhadap pendidikan gender yang muncul dari berbagai aktor sosial dan politik menandakan perlunya pendekatan yang kontekstual dan sensitif terhadap budaya lokal. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan berbasis kesetaraan gender tidak hanya penting sebagai upaya perlindungan terhadap peserta didik, tetapi juga sebagai sarana transformasi sosial dan kultural dalam sistem pendidikan. Implementasinya harus dilakukan secara holistik, berkelanjutan, dan melibatkan seluruh elemen masyarakat agar dapat berdampak nyata dalam mencegah kekerasan seksual di sekolah. Artikel ini memberikan kontribusi konseptual dalam pengembangan kebijakan pendidikan yang lebih adil dan responsif terhadap isu gender.

Beauty education vs. social media entertainment: @dokterdetektif’s communication style on TikTok This study analyzes the communication style of @dokterdetektif on TikTok to determine whether its content is more about beauty education or more about entertainment. By analyzing the five videos with the highest viewership at the time of data collection, this research identifies themes from the communication style of the videos, and measures audience engagement through the number of views, likes, and comments. The results show a blend of educational beauty content with dramatic narratives, revealing how @dokterdetektif on TikTok utilizes both to attract attention and build trust. The findings suggest that while @dokterdetektif provides beauty education, it is the dramatic storytelling that increases engagement, reflecting TikTok's role in informing and entertaining its audience. Penelitian ini menganalisis gaya komunikasi @dokterdetektif di TikTok untuk mengetahui apakah konten-kontennya lebih mengutamakan edukasi kecantikan atau lebih mengarah pada hiburan. Dengan menganalisis lima video dengan penonton tertinggi saat data diambil, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tema dari gaya komunikasi pada video yang disampaikan, serta mengukur keterlibatan audiens melalui jumlah tayangan, suka, dan komentar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perpaduan antara konten edukasi kecantikan dengan narasi dramatis, mengungkap bagaimana @dokterdetektif di TikTok memanfaatkan keduanya untuk menarik perhatian dan membangun kepercayaan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun @dokterdetektif memberikan edukasi kecantikan, storytelling drama yang meningkatkan keterlibatan, mencerminkan peran TikTok dalam memberi informasi sekaligus hiburan kepada audiensnya.
