Abstract

ABSTRACT Smallholder forests in Condong Village, Probolinggo, play a vital role in providing Sengon timber, yet farmers often face challenges in accurately estimating tree height, leading to low bargaining power in timber transactions. This study aims to develop a site-specific diameter-height (D-H) relationship model as a practical height estimation instrument for farmers. Data were collected from 130 Sengon trees, categorized into modeling (70%) and validation (30%) datasets. Seven models, including linear and non-linear models (such as Power, Weibull, and Naeslund), were evaluated using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Adjusted R-Squared (R2adj), and Akaike Information Criterion (AIC). This model accurately represents the asymptotic biological growth characteristics of Sengon, where height growth slows as diameter increases. The implication of this study is the availability of an accurate self-inventory tool for farmers to enhance transparency and bargaining power in bulk timber sales.   Keywords: Falcataria moluccana, non-linear model, smallholder forest, diameter, tree height.   ABSTRAK Hutan rakyat di Desa Condong, Probolinggo, memiliki peran vital dalam penyediaan kayu sengon, namun petani sering menghadapi tantangan dalam mengestimasi tinggi pohon secara akurat, yang berdampak pada rendahnya posisi tawar dalam transaksi kayu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun model hubungan diameter-tinggi (D-H) yang spesifik lokasi sebagai instrumen praktis penduga tinggi pohon bagi petani. Data dikumpulkan dari 130 pohon sengon yang dibagi menjadi data pemodelan (70%) dan validasi (30%). Tujuh model, termasuk model linear dan non-linear (seperti Power, Weibull, dan Naeslund), dievaluasi menggunakan kriteria Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Adjusted R-Squared (R2adj), dan Akaike Information Criterion (AIC). Model ini secara akurat merepresentasikan karakteristik biologis pertumbuhan sengon yang bersifat asimtotis, di mana pertambahan tinggi melambat seiring meningkatnya diameter. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah tersedianya alat inventarisasi mandiri yang akurat bagi petani untuk meningkatkan transparansi dan posisi tawar dalam penjualan kayu secara borongan.   Katakunci: Falcataria moluccana, model non-linear, hutan rakyat, diameter, tinggi pohon.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Pulai wood (Alstonia scholaris L.) is a type of fast growing wood which classified as light wood which has durable and strong class IV-V. Pulai wood are naturally less durable (not long-lasting) which causes the wood be easily damaged, porous or rotten by attacks by wood-destroying organisms such as termite (Cryptotermes sp.). Attacks by wood-destroying organisms can be avoided by preserving wood so that can increase the useful life of the wood. Liquid smoke is one of the potential ingredients to used as an alternative preservative. One raw material that has the potential to used to make liquid smoke is rengas sawdust because it contains compounds that are toxic to wood-destroying organisms. Aim of the research is to analyze the effect of interactions between wood parts and different concentrations of liquid smoke on the durability of pulai wood (Alstonia scholaris L.) from attacks by termites. The treatment factors used are the wood part (base, middle, top) and liquid smoke concentration (15%, 30%, 45% and 60%). The test parameters observed were the water content of rengas powder, liquid smoke yield, retention, absorption, penetration and weight loss. The best concentration is 60% in all parts of the wood which can increase the durability of Pulai wood to durable class II for the intensity of termite attacks.   Keywords: durability, feeding, liquid smoke, pulai wood, termites   ABSTRAK Kayu pulai (Alstonia scholaris L.) adalah salah satu jenis kayu cepat tumbuh yang tergolong kayu ringan yang memiliki kelas awet dan kelas kuat IV-V. Sifat kayu pulai secara alami kurang tahan lama (tidak awet) yang menyebabkan kayu mudah rusak, keropos atau lapuk oleh serangan organisme perusak kayu salah satunya rayap kayu kering (Cryptotermes sp.). Serangan organisme perusak kayu dapat dihindari dengan dilakukannya pengawetan kayu sehingga dapat menambah masa pakai kayu. Asap cair merupakan salah satu bahan yang potensial untuk dijadikan bahan pengawet alternatif. Salah satu bahan baku yang sangat potensial digunakan untuk membuat asap cair adalah serbuk gergajian kayu rengas karena mengandung senyawa yang bersifat racun bagi organisme perusak kayu. Tujuan dari penelitian, menganalisis pengaruh interaksi antara bagian kayu dengan perbedaan konsentrasi asap cair terhadap keawetan kayu pulai (Alstonia scholaris L.) dari serangan rayap kayu kering. Faktor perlakuan yang digunakan adalah bagian kayu (pangkal, tengah, ujung) dan konsentrasi asap cair (15%, 30%, 45% dan 60%). Parameter uji yang diamati adalah kadar air serbuk rengas, rendemen asap cair, retensi, absorbsi, penetrasi dan penurunan bobot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi terbaik adalah 60% pada semua bagian kayu dapat memberikan peningkatan pada keawetan kayu pulai menjadi kelas awet II dari intensitas serangan rayap kayu kering.   Kata kunci: asap cair, kayu pulai, keawetan, pengumpanan, rayap kayu kering

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate the effect of NPK Osmocote fertilizer and determine its optimal dosage on the growth of petai (Parkia speciosa) seedlings using a combination of rice husk charcoal and subsoil as the growing medium. This research was prompted by the decline in petai production and the difficulty in sourcing fertile topsoil, thus exploring the use of subsoil amended with rice husk charcoal. The research was conducted at the Jambi University charcoal. The research was conducted at the Jambi University Greenhouse from March to May 2025. A single-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was employed, featuring five levels of Osmocote fertilizer dosage: 0 g, 3 g, 5 g, 7 g, and 9 g per polybag, with four replications. The growing medium consisted of a 4:1 ratio of subsoil to rice husk charcoal. Observed parameters included increments in height, diameter, and leaf count, as well as shoot and root dry weight. The results showed that the application of Osmocote fertilizer had a highly significant effect on height and leaf number increments, a significant effect on diameter increment and shoot dry weight, but no significant effect on root dry weight. The fertilizer dosage of 3 g/polybag was identified as the best treatment for the growth of petai seedlings in the subsoil and rice husk charcoal medium.   Keywords: osmocote fertilizer, parkia speciosa, rice husk charcoal, seedling growth, subsoil   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh dan mendapatkan dosis terbaik dari pemberian pupuk NPK Osmocote pada kombinasi media tanam arang sekam padi dan subsoil terhadap pertumbuhan bibit petai (Parkia speciosa). Produksi petai dan sulitnya memperoleh media tanam topsoil yang subur melatarbelakangi penelitian ini, dengan memanfaatkan subsoil yang diperbaiki sifatnya menggunakan arang sekam padi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Rumah Kaca Universitas Jambi dari bulan Maret hingga Mei 2025. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor, yaitu dosis pupuk Osmocote yang terdiri dari lima taraf perlakuan: 0 g, 3 g, 5 g, 7 g, dan 9 g per polybag, dengan empat kali ulangan. Media tanam yang digunakan adalah campuran subsoil dan arang sekam padi dengan perbandingan 4:1. Parameter yang diamati meliputi pertambahan tinggi, pertambahan diameter, pertambahan jumlah daun, berat kering tajuk, dan berat kering akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk Osmocote berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap pertambahan tinggi dan jumlah daun, serta berpengaruh nyata pada pertambahan diameter dan berat kering tajuk, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap berat kering akar. Abstract

ABSTRACT Mangrove forests in the Barito River estuary exhibit dynamic changes that occur alongside land accretion processes and variations in hydrological conditions. This study aims to analyze the relationship between mangrove canopy density and water dynamics using the Combined Mangrove Recognition Index (CMRI) and the Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI) on Pulau Kaget and Pulau Tempurung during the period 2005–2025. The analysis was conducted using multi-temporal Landsat imagery at five-year intervals, including CMRI and MNDWI mapping, change detection analysis, time-series evaluation, and Pearson correlation testing. The results indicate an increase in mean CMRI values on both islands, with the most pronounced increase observed on Pulau Tempurung, where CMRI values more than doubled compared to initial conditions. In contrast, mean CMRI values on Pulau Kaget tended to stabilize after 2010 due to limited space for further accretion. MNDWI analysis shows a reduction in water area on both islands, with land proportion increasing from 82.98% to 88.82% on Pulau Tempurung and from 89.77% to 93.55% on Pulau Kaget. Correlation analysis reveals a negative relationship between CMRI and MNDWI (r = −0.596), indicating that increasing mangrove density is associated with land accretion processes. These findings confirm that the integration of CMRI and MNDWI is effective for monitoring the spatial–temporal ecological and geomorphological dynamics of mangrove ecosystems.   Keywords: barito estuary, mangrove forest, spatial ecology, vegetation succession   ABSTRAK Hutan mangrove di muara Sungai Barito memiliki dinamika yang berlangsung seiring dengan proses akresi lahan dan perubahan kondisi perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan kerapatan mangrove dan dinamika perairan menggunakan pendekatan indeks CMRI (Combined Mangrove Recognition Index) dan MNDWI (Modified Normalized Difference Water Index) pada Pulau Kaget dan Pulau Tempurung selama periode 2005–2025. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan Citra Landsat 5 TM serta Landsat 8/9 OLI/TIRS dengan interval lima tahunan, meliputi pemetaan CMRI, MNDWI, deteksi perubahan, analisis deret waktu, serta uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan rerata CMRI pada kedua pulau, dengan peningkatan paling menonjol terjadi di Pulau Tempurung yang meningkat lebih dari dua kali lipat dibandingkan kondisi awal periode pengamatan. Data pada Pulau Kaget, rerata CMRI cenderung stabil setelah tahun 2010 seiring terbatasnya ruang akresi. Analisis MNDWI menunjukkan penurunan luasan perairan pada kedua pulau, di mana persentase lahan meningkat dari 82,98% menjadi 88,82% di Pulau Tempurung dan dari 89,77% menjadi 93,55% di Pulau Kaget. Uji korelasi menunjukkan hubungan negatif antara CMRI dan MNDWI (r = −0,596), yang mengindikasikan keterkaitan antara peningkatan kerapatan mangrove dan proses akresi lahan. Abstract

ABSTRACT Tropical deforestation in Aceh has become a significant environmental issue due to its impacts on ecosystem degradation, biodiversity loss, and increased risk of disasters such as floods and landslides. The Leuser Ecosystem (KEL), a vital part of Aceh's forests, faces threats from illegal logging, forest encroachment, and land conversion. This study aims to explore multi-stakeholder strategies to prevent tropical deforestation in Aceh and to examine the roles of the Environment and Forestry Agency (DLHK), Forest Police (Polhut), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and the private sector in forest protection efforts. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies involving various informants from DLHK, WALHI, HAkA, Forest Police, and the private sector. The results show that deforestation prevention is achieved through collaboration between actors in the form of forest patrols, the use of monitoring technologies such as Smart Patrol and GIS, policy advocacy, and social forestry-based empowerment. This collaboration has encouraged dialogue, communication, and a shared commitment to forest protection. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, including a limited number of Forest Rangers, the size of the forest area under surveillance, inadequate supporting facilities, and suboptimal law enforcement. The study concluded that multi-stakeholder strategies play a crucial role in preventing deforestation, but strengthened coordination, increased human resource capacity, and optimized monitoring technology are needed for more effective and sustainable protection of Aceh's tropical forests.   Keywords: Aceh tropical forest, collaborative governance, deforestation, forest protection, multi-stakeholder   ABSTRAK Deforestasi hutan tropis di Aceh telah menjadi isu lingkungan yang signifikan karena dampaknya terhadap degradasi ekosistem, hilangnya keanekaragaman hayati, dan peningkatan risiko bencana seperti banjir dan tanah longsor. Kawasan Ekosistem Leuser (KEL), bagian penting dari hutan Aceh, menghadapi ancaman penebangan ilegal, perambahan hutan, dan konversi lahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi strategi multi-stakeholder untuk mencegah deforestasi hutan tropis di Aceh dan untuk meneliti peran Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (DLHK), Polhut (Polisi Hutan), Organisasi Non-Pemerintah (LSM), dan sektor swasta dalam upaya perlindungan hutan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi yang melibatkan berbagai informan dari DLHK, WALHI, HAkA, Polhut, dan sektor swasta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pencegahan deforestasi dicapai melalui kolaborasi antar aktor dalam bentuk patroli hutan, penggunaan teknologi pemantauan seperti Smart Patrol dan GIS, advokasi kebijakan, dan pemberdayaan masyarakat berdasarkan kehutanan sosial. Kolaborasi ini telah mendorong dialog, komunikasi, dan komitmen bersama terhadap perlindungan hutan. Namun, implementasinya masih menghadapi beberapa tantangan, termasuk jumlah Polisi Hutan yang terbatas, luasnya area hutan yang dipantau, fasilitas pendukung yang tidak memadai, dan penegakan hukum yang kurang optimal. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi multi-stakeholder memainkan peran penting dalam pencegahan deforestasi, tetapi penguatan koordinasi, peningkatan kapasitas sumber daya manusia, dan optimalisasi teknologi pemantauan diperlukan untuk perlindungan hutan tropis Aceh yang lebih efektif dan berkelanjutan.   Kata kunci: hutan tropis Aceh, collaborative governance, deforestasi, perlindungan hutan, multi-stakeholder

Abstract

ABSTRACT Nyamplung (Calophyllum inophyllum L.) is a multipurpose forestry plant with great potential as a biodiesel source and construction timber. However, its cultivation is constrained by ultisol soil, which is acidic, nutrient-deficient, and high in aluminum toxicity. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) of the Glomus mosseae species and humic acid on the growth of nyamplung seedlings in ultisol soil. The research was conducted at the Forestry Education Center, Universitas Jambi, for 4 months. The experiment used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors: AMF dosage (0, 5, 10, and 15 g/polybag) and humic acid dosage (0, 10, 20, and 30 g/polybag). There were 16 treatment combinations with 3 replications (totaling 240 plants). Variates observed included height, diameter, leaf number, root length, shoot and root dry weight, shoot-root ratio, and root infection percentage. Data were analyzed using ANOVA followed by the LSD test ( ). The results showed a significant interaction between AMF and humic acid application on the growth of nyamplung seedlings in ultisol medium. Individually, the single factor application of 10 g/polybag AMF and 10 g/polybag humic acid constituted the best treatments, optimally increasing plant height and leaf number. The use of these soil conditioners is effective in improving nyamplung seedling performance in suboptimal land.   Keywords: AMF, Calophyllum inophyllum L., humic acid, ultisol   ABSTRAK Nyamplung (Calophyllum inophyllum L.) merupakan tanaman kehutanan multiguna potensial sebagai sumber biodiesel dan kayu konstruksi. Namun, budidayanya terkendala oleh media tanam tanah ultisol yang masam, miskin hara, dan tinggi toksisitas aluminium. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh pemberian Fungi Mikoriza Arbuskula (FMA) jenis Glomus mosseae dan asam humat terhadap pertumbuhan bibit nyamplung di tanah ultisol. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Forestry Education Center Universitas Jambi selama 4 bulan. Metode eksperimen menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial dengan dua faktor: dosis FMA (0, 5, 10, dan 15 g/polybag) dan dosis asam humat (0, 10, 20, dan 30 g/polybag). Terdapat 16 kombinasi perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan (total 240 tanaman). Variabel yang diamati meliputi tinggi, diameter, jumlah daun, panjang akar, bobot kering tajuk dan akar, rasio tajuk akar, serta persen infeksi akar. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT ( ). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya interaksi signifikan antara pemberian FMA dan asam humat terhadap pertumbuhan bibit nyamplung di media ultisol. Secara mandiri, aplikasi faktor tunggal FMA dosis 10 g/polybag serta asam humat dosis 10 g/polybag merupakan perlakuan terbaik yang mampu meningkatkan tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun secara optimal. Penggunaan kombinasi pembenah tanah ini efektif memperbaiki performa bibit nyamplung pada lahan suboptimal.   Kata kunci: asam humat, Calophyllum inophyllum L., FMA, ultisol

Abstract

ABSTRACT Leaf roller pest Strepsicrates sp. is a major threat to Eucalyptus pellita in Industrial Plantation Forests, reducing leaf area available for photosynthesis and consequently inhibiting plant growth. Chemical insecticides have been widely used to control this pest; however, variations in insecticide type and dosage often show limited effectiveness while posing environmental risks and increasing the potential for pest resistance. Therefore, integrated pest management using biological control and refugia plants such as Turnera sp., which provide nectar and pollen resources for natural enemies, has been proposed as an environmentally friendly alternative. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different planting densities of Turnera sp. on the population and damage caused by leaf roller pests. The research was conducted at PT. Wirakarya Sakti using a systematic sampling method with 8 × 8 m² observation plots. Four treatments were applied: 0% (control), 25%, 50%, and 75% Turnera sp. planting density. Observed parameters included attack intensity, attack percentage, and pest population density. It was hypothesized that increasing the density of Turnera sp. would significantly reduce pest populations and attack levels. However, the results indicated that different planting densities of Turnera sp. had no significant effect on the attack intensity or population density of leaf roller caterpillars and stem borers. These findings indicate that increasing the density of Turnera sp. alone was insufficient to suppress pest infestations in E. pellita plantations under the conditions of this study.   Keywords: biological identification, Eucalyptus pellita, Refugia, Strepsicrates sp., Turnera sp.   ABSTRAK Serangan hama penggulung daun (Strepsicrates sp.) merupakan masalah serius pada Hutan Tanaman Industri (HTI) Eucalyptus pellita. Serangan penggulung daun mengurangi hasil fotosintesis yang memperlambat pertumbuhan. Pengendalian Strepsicrates sp. pada bibit Eucalyptus pellita menggunakan insektisida telah banyak dilakukan bahwa variasi jenis dan dosis insektisida tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap mortalitas maupun morfologi.Penggunaan insektisida sintetik selama ini dinilai kurang efektif dan berisiko merusak lingkungan serta memicu resistensi hama. Pengendalian Terpadu dengan memanfaatkan agensia hayati dan tanaman refugia seperti Turnera sp. menjadi alternatif untuk menyediakan sumber pakan (nektar dan polen) bagi musuh alami.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh berbagai tingkat kerapatan penanaman Turnera sp. dalam menekan populasi dan kerusakan akibat hama penggulung daun. Penelitian dilakukan di PT. WiraKarya Sakti menggunakan metode systematic sampling dengan plot pengamatan berukuran 8x8m². Perlakuan terdiri dari empat tingkat kerapatan tanaman refugia, yaitu: kontrol 0%, 25%, 50%, dan 75%. Parameter yang diamati meliputi intensitas serangan, persentase serangan, dan kepadatan populasi hama. Hipotesis penelitian menduga bahwa semakin tinggi kerapatan Turnera sp., maka populasi dan tingkat serangan hama akan semakin menurun secara signifikan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan Turnera sp. dengan berbagai tingkat kerapatan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap intensitas serangan maupun populasi ulat penggulung daun dan penggerek batang. Dengan demikian, hipotesis yang menyatakan bahwa penanaman Turnera sp. efektif dalam menekan serangan hama tersebut pada tanaman E. pellita dinyatakan ditolak.   Kata kunci: Eucalyptus pellita, pengendalian hayati, Refugia, Strepsicrates sp., Turnera sp.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Anurans play an important ecological role in maintaining ecosystem balance and are widely recognized as bioindicators of environmental quality due to their sensitivity to habitat changes. Information on anuran diversity in customary forests of Jambi Province remains limited. This study aimed to identify anuran species, analyze community structure, and describe environmental conditions in the Datuk Rangkayo Mulio Customary Forest, Bungo Regency, Jambi Province, Indonesia. Field surveys were conducted from July to August 2024 using the Visual Encounter Survey (VES) method with two repeated surveys along each transect. Captured individuals were temporarily marked to prevent double counting during the sampling period. Community structure was analyzed using the Shannon–Wiener diversity index, Margalef species richness index, and Pielou evenness index, while environmental variables included air temperature, air humidity, water temperature, and water pH. A total of 95 individuals representing 16 species from six families (Bufonidae, Dicroglossidae, Ranidae, Rhacophoridae, Microhylidae, and Megophryidae) were recorded. Ranidae was the most abundant family, whereas Chalcorana parvaccola was the dominant species. The community exhibited a moderate diversity index (H' = 2.397), low species richness (Dmg = 3.294), and high evenness (E = 0.864). Environmental measurements ranged from 24.1–26.6 °C for air temperature, 79–95% for air humidity, 26–30 °C for water temperature, and pH 5.91–6.35. These findings indicate that the Datuk Rangkayo Mulio Customary Forest continues to support a relatively stable anuran community. The results provide baseline biodiversity information that can be used to support long-term monitoring and community-based management and conservation of customary forests.   Keywords: anura, community structure, customary forest, diversity, visual encounter survey.   ABSTRAK Amfibi Ordo Anura merupakan kelompok vertebrata yang berperan penting dalam menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem dan berfungsi sebagai bioindikator kualitas lingkungan karena sensitif terhadap perubahan habitat. Informasi mengenai keanekaragaman amfibi pada kawasan hutan adat di Provinsi Jambi masih terbatas, sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi jenis Anura, menganalisis struktur komunitas, serta mendeskripsikan kondisi faktor lingkungan di Hutan Adat Datuk Rangkayo Mulio, Kabupaten Bungo, Provinsi Jambi. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Juli–Agustus 2024 menggunakan metode Visual Encounter Survey (VES) dengan pengulangan jalur sebanyak dua kali. Individu yang ditemukan diberi penandaan sementara (temporary individual marking) untuk mencegah penghitungan ganda selama survei. Data dianalisis menggunakan indeks keanekaragaman Shannon-Wiener, indeks kekayaan jenis Margalef, dan indeks kemerataan Pielou, serta didukung oleh pengukuran suhu udara, kelembapan udara, suhu air, dan pH air. Hasil penelitian memperoleh 95 individu yang terdiri atas 16 jenis dari 6 famili, yaitu Bufonidae, Dicroglossidae, Ranidae, Rhacophoridae, Microhylidae, dan Megophryidae. Famili Ranidae merupakan famili dengan jumlah individu terbanyak, sedangkan Chalcorana parvaccola menjadi jenis yang paling dominan. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman tergolong sedang (H' = 2,397), indeks kekayaan jenis tergolong rendah (Dmg = 3,294), dan indeks kemerataan tergolong tinggi (E = 0,864). Suhu udara berkisar 24,1–26,6 °C, kelembapan udara 79–95%, suhu air 26–30 °C, dan pH air 5,91–6,35. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Hutan Adat Datuk Rangkayo Mulio masih mendukung keberadaan komunitas amfibi dengan distribusi individu yang relatif merata. Data ini dapat menjadi informasi dasar (baseline) untuk pemantauan biodiversitas serta mendukung pengelolaan dan konservasi hutan adat berbasis masyarakat.   Kata kunci: anura, hutan adat, keanekaragaman, struktur komunitas, visual encounter survey.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia holds approximately 23% of the world's total mangrove area, making it the country with the largest mangrove extent globally. However, intensive conversion for aquaculture, agriculture, and coastal infrastructure development has resulted in substantial mangrove degradation, with an estimated loss of over 40% of the original mangrove cover over the past five decades. This literature review aims to compile, analyze, and synthesize mangrove rehabilitation techniques implemented across Indonesia from 2020 to 2025. The study applied a Narrative Literature Review (NLR) method using secondary literature indexed in Google Scholar. Results indicate that mangrove rehabilitation in Indonesia encompasses five principal approaches: (1) direct propagule and seedling planting, (2) transplantation techniques, (3) silvofishery-based rehabilitation, (4) permeable structure and bioengineering approaches, and (5) community-based participatory rehabilitation. Successful rehabilitation is contingent on appropriate site selection, hydrological assessment, species-site matching, and sustained post-planting monitoring. The integration of permeable structures to restore hydrological conditions in severely degraded sites has demonstrated promising outcomes, particularly in areas experiencing high wave energy. Community-based approaches showed higher long-term sustainability compared to top-down government programs. Key challenges include high seedling mortality on degraded mudflats, inadequate monitoring protocols, limited financial continuity, and insufficient community capacity building. Future programs should integrate ecological engineering with socio-economic dimensions and employ remote sensing and drone technologies for large-scale monitoring to ensure the long-term success of mangrove ecosystem recovery.   Keywords: community-based rehabilitation, Indonesia, mangrove, permeable structure, silvofishery   ABSTRAK Indonesia memiliki sekitar 23% dari total luasan mangrove dunia, menjadikannya negara dengan kawasan mangrove terluas di dunia. Namun, konversi intensif untuk tambak, pertanian, dan pembangunan infrastruktur pesisir telah mengakibatkan degradasi mangrove yang signifikan, dengan estimasi kehilangan lebih dari 40% tutupan mangrove asli dalam lima dekade terakhir. Literature review ini bertujuan untuk mengompilasi, menganalisis, dan menyintesis teknik rehabilitasi mangrove yang telah dilakukan di Indonesia dari tahun 2020 hingga 2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Narrative Literature Review (NLR) dengan sumber literatur sekunder yang terindeks di Google Scholar. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa rehabilitasi mangrove di Indonesia mencakup lima pendekatan utama: (1) penanaman langsung propagul dan bibit, (2) teknik transplantasi, (3) rehabilitasi berbasis silvofishery, (4) pendekatan struktur permeabel dan bioengineering, serta (5) rehabilitasi partisipatif berbasis masyarakat. Keberhasilan rehabilitasi bergantung pada pemilihan tapak yang tepat, penilaian hidrologi, kesesuaian jenis tapak, dan pemantauan pasca tanam yang berkelanjutan. Teknik struktur permeabel menunjukkan efektivitas tinggi di areal terdegradasi berat dengan energi gelombang tinggi, sedangkan pendekatan berbasis masyarakat menghasilkan keberlanjutan jangka panjang yang lebih baik. Tantangan utama mencakup tingginya mortalitas bibit, protokol pemantauan yang tidak memadai, keterbatasan pembiayaan, dan pemberdayaan masyarakat yang belum optimal. Abstract

ABSTRACT                                                                 Efforts that can be made by the government to overcome the problems of global warming, air pollution and air temperature, garbage and flooding as well as other ecological problems are through the development of Green Open Space (RTH). This study was conducted to determine the diversity of species and distribution patterns of dominant tree species in green open spaces in Jambi City, especially in the area of ​​the Jambi University Educational Forest and the Bagan Pete City Forest of Jambi City. This study was conducted for 3 (three) months from March to May 2016. Found 376 individuals of 52 species in the Jambi University Educational Forest, and 242 individuals of 49 tree species in the Bagan Pete City Forest of Jambi City The diversity index (H ') in the Jambi University Educational Forest is higher than in the Bagan Pete City Forest. The dominant species in the Jambi University Educational Forest are spread in groups for the types of Endospermum mallacense, Alstonia scholaris, Porterandia anisophylla, Macaranga gigantea, Garcinia parvifolia, Artocarpus odoratissimus, Antidesma cuspidatum, Litsea umbellata. Uniform distribution pattern for Gironniera nervosa and Rhodamnia cinerea species. Dominant tree species in Bagan Pete City Forest, Jambi City are uniformly distributed for Sloetia elongata, Gironniera subaequalis Macaranga constricta, Alstonia scholaris, Artocarpus elasticus, and Sizygium sp. Clustered distribution pattern for Porterandia anisophylla, Hevea brasiliensis, Endospermum mallacense, and Antidesma coriacea species.   Keywords: ecological, green open space, species composition, vegetation analysis   ABSTRAK Upaya yang dapat dilakukan oleh pemerintah untuk mengatasi permasalahan pemanasan global, polusi udara dan suhu udara, sampah dan banjir serta permasalahan ekologis lainnya yaitu melalui pengembangan Ruang Terbuka Hijau (RTH). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis dan pola penyebaran jenis-jenis pohon dominan di ruang terbuka hijau di Kota jambi, khususnya pada kawasan Hutan Pendidikan Universitas Jambi dan Hutan Kota Bagan Pete Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 3 (tiga) bulan pada Bulan Maret sampai dengan Mei 2016. Ditemukan 376 individu dari 52 spesies Pada Hutan Pendidikan Universitas Jambi, dan 242 individu dari 49 spesies pohon di Hutan Kota Bagan Pete Kota Jambi Indeks keanekaragaman (H’) pada Hutan Pendidikan Universitas Jambi lebih tinggi dibandingkan pada Hutan Kota Bagan Pete. Jenis dominan di Hutan Pendidikan Universitas Jambi menyebar mengelompok untuk jenis Endospermum mallacense, Alstonia scholaris, Porterandia anisophylla, Macaranga gigantea, Garcinia parvifolia, Artocarpus odoratissimus, Antidesma cuspidatum, Litsea umbellata.
