Abstract

The lack of social studies learning comprehension among class V pupils at SD Negeri Kedoya Utara 03 served as the impetus for this study. The purpose of this study is to improve fifth-graders' comprehension of social subjects via mediamindmapping at SD Negeri Kedoya Utara 03. Collaboration-based classroom action research was used to conduct this study. This study was conducted in two cycles, with planning, implementation, observation, and observation comprising each cycle. Fifth-graders at SD Negeri Kedoya Utara 03 served as the study's subjects. This study focused on how well pupils understood social studies. procedures for gathering data that involve testing, observation, and documenting. Both qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis are employed as data analysis methodologies. The study's findings demonstrate how media usemindmapping might enhance class V students' comprehension at SD Negeri Kedoya Utara 03. This accomplishment was proven after two rounds of action. Cycle I students understood 69.28% of the social studies material, whereas cycle II students understood 87.67%. Another achievement was the evaluation of student activities, which in cycle I achieved 67.70% and increased to 85.39% in cycle II. The instructor activity score increased from cycle I's 67.72% to 82.68%.

Abstract

The tradition of Ngantok Behauh from Anak Betino to Tengganai ahead of the month of Ramadan in the Hamparan Rawang community is a tradition of delivering rice or other basic necessities from sisters to Tengganai or brothers. The Ngantok Behauh tradition is still carried out by the people of Hamparan Rawang to this day. This research aims to describe the implementation process, find out the meaning and understand the values ​​contained in Ngantok Behauh in the Hamparan Rawang community. The data analysis used in this research is ethnographic analysis from Clifford Geertz, data hermeneutics, interpreting data, and interpretive representation. This research shows that the Ngantok Behauh tradition is a tradition passed down from generation to generation which is still carried out by the Hamparan Rawang community to this day. This tradition is still maintained by the community because it contains values ​​and meanings that are shared by the entire community. The values ​​contained in the Ngantok Behauh tradition include: brotherhood values, social values ​​and local wisdom values. Apart from this, the tradition of ngantok behauh also has the meaning of strengthening friendly relations between families as well as respecting male children who will always be ready to help female children solve any problems they encounter later.

Abstract

Research on meminang ceremonies is motivated by communication between speakers and interlocutors. Thus situation contains cultural aspects in verbal communication. This research aims to explain the cultural aspects pf verbal communication at the meminang ceremony in Solok Regency (Ethnography of Communication). To achieve the objectives of this research, researchers used a qualitative approach with ethnography communication methods. Research data collection uses observation, interviews, field notes and documentation (photos) methods. The analysis of this research data is, (1) transcribing the listening and recording results, (2) translating Minangkabau language into Indonesian, (3) recording quotations according to the topics discussed, (4) coding each research data, (5) classifying quotations in the cultural aspect of verbal communication, (6) conducting analysis and discussion and (7) formulating conclusions and suggestions. The results of the research show that the negotiations carried aut by speakers and interlocutors in the meminang ceremony are viewed from the cultural aspects of communication in the form of verbal communication, including the culture in verbal communication in this research in the form of connotations and the use of greetings.

Abstract

The presence of textbooks as a learning medium and/or source for students in their coursework essentially aims to facilitate their learning. Lecturers develop a Basic Mathematics textbook designed systematically to aid students in their learning and enhance their learning outcomes. The research subjects are 25 students from the Technical Informatics Education program taking the Basic Mathematics course. The objective of this research is to develop a textbook that aligns with the needs of the coursework and assess its practicality. The research method used is research and development, using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluation). During the implementation phase, practicality testing is conducted to determine how practical the Basic Mathematics textbook is for student learning. The research findings indicate that the Basic Mathematics textbook exhibits a high level of practicality, suggesting its suitability for improving students' mathematics learning outcomes. The research results also show that in the effectiveness phase, statistical analysis using the Paired Sample Test yielded a two-tailed significance value of 0.000, which is less than the alpha value of 0.05. This implies that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Hi) is accepted, indicating a significant difference in students' mathematics learning outcomes before and after using the Basic Mathematics textbook.

Abstract

This study aims to find out and obtain information about the application of the formulation of a geography learning model that will shape the Islamic character of students in Bukittinggi City by conducting an AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) analysis. This type of research is descriptive qualitative using observation, interviews, and documentation in data collection. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. There are five program priorities that can be applied for development, namely 1) students are accustomed to behaving in a commendable manner and studying hard 2) linking learning with the Al-Quran and Hadith 3) appointing public schools based on Islamic boarding schools 4) facilitating in religious competitions 5) providing provisions for faith and monotheism as early as possible

Abstract

This research is motivated by conventional learning methods in the form of lectures which only involve the right hemisphere of the brain. Thus, teachers need to use other learning methods or models in the learning process so that they are expected to be able to involve both hemispheres of the brain in the hope that students can remember information much more easily and learning becomes more active and enjoyable. This research aims to improve student learning outcomes by using mind mapping in social studies learning. This research is classified as qualitative descriptive research, namely explaining how the mind mapping method is implemented in learning social studies for class V students at Bungku 13 State Elementary School. The results of this research explain that the mind mapping method was carried out in 2 stages, namely; planning, implementation. The application of this mind mapping method is able to involve two functions of the human brain in the learning process, namely the right brain and left brain, so it is hoped that it can improve student learning outcomes in social studies learning.

Abstract

Many authors express the problems of human life in literary works, because literature is a means of expressing ideas and feelings that exist in a person's heart. Religious or religious issues are expressed by the author in the story told through the characters. Moral issues related to human morals or manners. Social problems are reflected in community relations and other social classes. This is what underlies researchers to conduct this research. Cultural issues relate to human creativity, taste, and taste. The aim of the researcher in conducting this research is so that the researcher can obtain results about the value of education in the novel Rain by Tere Liye.This type of research is literary research using the Hermeneutics method with a literary sociology approach. The data collection technique used by researchers is by reading the entire story in the novel Rain by Tere Liye. Research data regarding the value of education. Data source for the novel Rain by Tere Liye. The four educational values ​​are the value of religious education, the value of moral education, the value of social education and the value of cultural education. From the research results, the value of social education was most often found by researchers. Based on the discussion of the issue of the value of education in the novel Rain by Tere Liye, the following conclusion can be drawn: The value of religious education contained in the novel Rain includes how to feel grateful, steadfast in facing various trials. Always ask Allah SWT for help. The religious education values ​​obtained in the novel Rain by Tere Liye amount to 4 religious education values.

Abstract

LKPD is a learning facility and guideline to support learning activities to be active and interactive so that it makes it easier for students to achieve learning goals. Based on the observation results, it shows that there are limitations in teaching materials in the form of LKPD which still do not support the learning needs of students. Teachers use package books in which there are brief assignments and practicum activities as learning guidelines without directly facing students on problems related to the material, and the LKPD used is not interesting and complete. The purpose of the study is to determine the feasibility of the product and the response of students to the biomagazine-based LKPD development product on ecosystem material in class X of SMA Negeri 10 Palangka Raya. The development method with the Hannafin and Peck model consists of three phases, namely Analysis, Design, and Development and Implementation where all stages involve the evaluation and revision process. The data collection instrument is a validation questionnaire of material experts, media, language, and student responses. LKPD is tested in small-scale stages. The results of the development research resulted in a biomagazine-based LKPD product with the results of development suitable for use in learning in schools. This is based on data obtained from the assessment of the feasibility of LKPD by material experts of 77.65%, media experts 80%, linguists 98.57%, and student responses of 97.65%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Project-Based Learning (PBL) on the engagement and motivation of Junior High School students. (SMP). PBL is a learning approach that encourages students to work on projects relevant to the real world, thereby enhancing motivation and 21st-century skills, such as collaboration and problem-solving. This research uses a quantitative method with a survey approach through questionnaires given to eighth-grade students in two schools in Sijunjung, selected using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS software, with a paired t-test to see the significant difference between the pretest and posttest. The research results show that PBL significantly increases students' motivation, participation, and satisfaction with the learning process. Questionnaire scores on scales 4 and 5 indicate an increase in students' motivation and engagement. Statistical analysis shows an increase in the average student score from 64.5 (pretest) to 77.5 (posttest) with a p-value < 0.05 and an effect size of 0.8, indicating a significant and large impact. This research concludes that PBL has a positive impact on student learning outcomes, particularly in enhancing critical thinking skills, collaboration, and learning motivation.

Abstract

Manggan Nantauw tradition is a tradition held by local people in Bukit Pulai to celebrate their women’s pregnant. This tradition has a process which has several steps to do. This research is aimed to see the process of Manggan Nantauw tradition, to find the meaning behind this tradition, and to know the reason of the existence of Manggan Nantauw tradition around people in Bukit Pulai. This research used ethnography which is one of types of qualitative research. The data of this research were taken in Bukit Pulai at Kerinci regency, Jambi province. The informants of this research were traditional leaders, whole family and people that do Manggan Nantauw tradition. The techniques of data collection of this research were close interview, documentation and field observation. Furthermore, to analyze the data, it was using 12 steps from Spradley analysis which were corresponded to the situation in the field. The result of the research shows Manggan Nantauw tradition still exists in Bukit Pulai people’s life. The meaning of this tradition can be seen from its process. It has meaning in each used tools such as a mat for born baby, a cattle, two glasses, two plates, a wide plate, two rice bowls, two spices bowls, two big spoons, two small spoons and two washing hand bowls. The other is meaning from its materials such as areca, gambir, leaf cigarette, rice, curry and chickens. The reason why Bukit Pulai people still do this tradition is because this is in line with Islamic belief and one of ancient cultural heritages that give good effect for the society which it can tighten familiarity among the people. Manggan Nantauw tradition must be maintained and preserved. For the local people, they should keep the existence of this tradition. Kerinci government also has to give support toward the preservation of this tradition as one of characteristics of Kerinci people especially Bukit Pulai people.
