Abstract

The study aims to determine and describe students' mathematical literacy skills in solving AKM problems in terms of reflective and implusive cognitive styles. The subjects in this study were grade XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Pandeglang who had reflective and implusive cognitive styles. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach.  The selection of research subjects was carried out by purposive sampling technique based on using the cognitive style test instrument Matching Familiar Figure Test (MFFT). After that, a test was carried out to collect mathematical literacy skills by completing AKM questions and interviews. Analysis of mathematical literacy ability tests refers to three indicators of mathematical literacy, namely reasoning/argument, communication, and application/representation. Based on data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that: (1) Students with refractive cognitive styles have medium category mamthematic literacy skills. (2) Students with implusive cognitive styles have low category mathematical literacy skills. The results showed that the mathematical literacy of students with reflective cognitive style was in the medium category with a percentage of 61.54%, while the mathematical literacy of students with cognitive implusive style was in the low category with a percentage of 57.14%.

Abstract

This research focuses on examining the level of effectiveness of mathematics learning e-modules in improving students' abilities in the field of numeracy literacy, especially at the initial level in the secondary school years. Based on the quasi-experimental design used and then using the one group pretest-posttest formula, this research is included in the experimental category. The population group for this study were grade 7 students at SMP Negeri 13 Malang, and the sample consisted of 20 grade 7A students. The sampling technique used is purposive non probability type. Quantitative data in this research was collected through tests using pretest and posttest sheets. Data analysis was carried out using a paired t-test using the SPSS program and the gain value formula. Based on the research results, it is known that the t-test significance level is 0.002, which means that the significance value is less than 0.05. As for the calculation of the gain value, the result was 0.4 or equivalent to the medium level effective category. So it is concluded that the e-learning module is effective in improving students' abilities in the numeracy literacy aspect.

Abstract

The research aims to be able to find out the applications of inquiry learning using exponential material which can improve the mathematical critical thinking skills of vocational school level students in Bekasi Regency. This research approach uses descriptive methods of analysis in testing and observing the improvement of the ability to think critically mathematically of learners, test instruments are used in the form of questions on students' mathematical critical thinking skills on exponent material. The results showed a percentage score of 100% for six students classified as "very critical"; 80% percentage for six students who fall into the critical category; 60% percentage for six students who fall into the less critical category; and a 40% rate for four students who fall into the non-critical category. It can be concluded that the inquiry-based learning model used to improve students' critical thinking is successful.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the understanding of concepts with Science, Technology, Emgineering, and Mathematics (STEM) approaches in mathematics learning in elementary school students. The subjects of this study were Class IV teachers and 12 MI Riyadlul Ulum students for the even semester 2023/2024 academic year. Data collection techniques are observation, tests and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out through three stages, namely data condensation, data presentation, and concluding data. Based on the results of research on the learning process in cycle I, teacher activities obtain good qualifications (B) and student activities obtain sufficient qualifications (C). while in cycle II teacher activities have good qualifications (B) and student activities obtain good qualifications (B). Furthermore, students' understanding of concepts in the first cycle reached a percentage of 75%, in the second cycle it increased to 93%. So it can be concluded that students experience an increase in understanding concepts using a STEM approach. These findings support the integration of STEM approaches in the Merdeka curriculum in basic education to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

This research emphasizes teaching materials that are conceptual in nature and do not use a context that is close to students. The research objective is to produce PMRI-based teaching material products about integers. The research subjects were class III students at SD Negeri 31 Lubuklinggau. The research design uses the ADDIE research and development model with 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Data collection uses interviews and questionnaires. Validation and practicality questionnaire instruments are used to measure the validity and practicality of PMRI-based teaching materials. Based on the results of the validity data analysis carried out by the three experts, their respective scores were obtained, namely media experts got a score of 0.88, language experts got a score of 0.83 and material experts got a score of 0.75. The results of the analysis of the small group practicality questionnaire data obtained an average score of 89% and the teacher response practicality questionnaire data obtained an average score of 95%. Thus, it can be concluded that the PMRI-based integer teaching materials using the Musi Rawas tourism context are valid and practical so that they can be declared suitable for use.

Abstract

Planar material is one of the materials that will be found again in several subsequent materials. In plane material, students' mathematical representation abilities need to be considered so that students are able to solve problems well. The aim of this research is to analyze the level of validity and reliability of the test instrument for junior high school students' mathematical representation abilities in solving flat shape problems. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive method. By using the Aiken's V formula, the expert validation results obtained an average V value of 0.93, which means that the questions have a very high level of validity and can be used. Meanwhile, the results of the reliability calculation show that the r value is 0.94, which means that the question has a very strong correlation coefficient and can be used. So this instrument can be used by teachers to measure the level of students' mathematical representation abilities in solving flat shape problems.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of the flipped classroom blended learning model on the mathematical understanding abilities of junior high school students. The research adopts a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two classes at SMPN 3 Karawang Barat. Class VIII-B, serving as the experimental group, received instruction using the flipped classroom model, while class VIII-A, serving as the control group, was taught using conventional teaching methods. Data were collected through pretests and posttests that measured the students' mathematical understanding abilities. The results indicated a significant improvement in the mathematical understanding abilities of the students in the flipped classroom model compared to those in the conventional teaching methods. This conclusion was derived from data analysis using the t-test, which showed a significant difference between the students who were taught using the flipped classroom model and those who were taught using conventional methods in terms of their improvement in mathematical understanding abilities. Further analysis using N-gain and effect size tests was conducted, This study concludes that the flipped classroom blended learning model can be an effective alternative to enhance the mathematical understanding abilities of junior high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning learning model assisted by ice breaking on students' mathematical representation abilities and learning independence. The method used is a quantitative method with an experimental research type. The sample consists of 27 students of VIII B as an experimental class and 20 students of class VIII A as a control class at MTs Zia Salsabila Bandar Setia. The results of the study showed that the t-test analysis that had been carried out obtained a p-value = 0.00 0.05 and p-value = 0.0001 0.005. The data explains that   is accepted and  is rejected. The average n-gain obtained in the experimental class was 0.64 and 0.57 while the control class obtained a value of 0.16 and 0.29 so that the average difference in n-gain was 0.48 and 0.28. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the mathematical representation ability and learning independence of students who learn using the PBL learning model assisted by ice breaking are better than students who learn in class with conventional learning models. There is an influence of the use of the PBL learning model assisted by ice breaking on students' mathematical representation abilities and learning independence.
